handling class given by Carol Ackerson, she was very impressed by ChaCha and Bob's movements, of course, ChaCha was the only Cairn in class but Hunter her puppy observed! Lynne suggested stripping ChaCha down to her soft coat, leaving 3/4" furnishings and just tidying up the face. Wow, her leg hair is difficult to remove, some of it anyway. I had been working on ChaCha, but she was overgrown and looks quite different, surely not ready to show for 3-4 months. The poor dear is such a sweetheart, I really don't like taking the course hair from sensitive areas!!! This weekend and next we have two Sanction B Matches, one in Decatur and one in Newnan, Ga. the matches will be our first introduction to the ring. The Kennel Club members in Newnan are very inviting and are looking forward to meeting us. I don't know if or how many Cairns will be there, but it is worth the experience! I just received an invitation to the Potomac Cairn Terrier All Breed Show in MD, I am hoping both Bob and I will be attending to observe and meet some folks. …show more content…

I would love to come for a visit, ChaCha's coarse hair will be growing out soon I'm supposing and now that I have a shorter starting point will keep her coat in order. I ordered a DVD titled Grooming Your Cairn from the Greater Detroit Cairn Terrier Club, it goes through 5 stages of grooming, from puppy to the show ring. The video is good but old!!! I have a question for you, Alabama has fleas and ticks, I pulled two fleas from ChaCha a while back (she is on Frontline), my daughter Michelle (Vet tech) suggested Nextguard but the on-post vet suggested Bravecto. I can leave her on Frontline, but it is topical vs. Bravecto, a chewable lasting 12wks. My question is what is your recommendation? I will pose the question to Dr. Dodd but I’m not sure she will
