Knowledge Inventory System/Console and Guide/Tips
Playstation or any other form of video games have helped a lot of kids including me on a emotional and mental level. Engaging in video games can release a lot of anger and depression/stress. For example, someone has no social skills;and don’t really get out in public that much can increase that skill. But when that person gets online;and plays with all those players around the world and socializes with the realizing someone wants to be his/her friend;would make the day a brighter one. So those who criticize playing the game to much or etc shouldn’t;because some who really need video games for that specific reason should have no problem

And providing information for the wrong system wouldn 't be wise especially towards beginners.
Now we all know in the future there is going to be technology beyond our predictions, but learning how gaming works on a scientific level would be interesting. Like how some data in the memory cards Sony created for the playstation which happened to be small in size regarding storage and game usage. More scientific information I plan to learn is how graphics make video games come to life, and how much the AI or artificial intelligence in video games have more and more common sense than usual games. Designers who create and develop video games want the players to feel a videogame is real, which is why they decided to add vibration to the controllers for the systems. So if there was an explosion or if you where to reload your weapon it would vibrate indicating that real life experience. Although Sony who are the creators of Playstaion added sound to the controllers, which allowed gamers to have the feeling of being involved with the game on a personal level, because their game is talking to them.
Every time a new system comes out I am always investigating all the details from small to big. But one thing I didn’t really understand was the online downloading for games without buying the disc. Unlike this generation, I am used to buying the disc so I would be able to take it from place
Video games are enjoyable for people and have good benefits for children who use their multiple skills to play and interact with others. In many parts of the world, the common video game is often seen by parents as something that is wasting their child's time or “rotting their brain”. It is a popular misconception that video games are bad for children. What parents do not know is the positive things about video games. Video games have a positive impact on people and help them learn things for experiences to come. People often do not understand that violent video games are not harmful to people because video games allow people to release their anger, video games decrease crime in youth, and because they allow people to be creative and test their
In “Electronic Gaming Monthly,” there was an article that explained the top five negative aspects of videogames. Isolation: people can become obsessed over a videogame. Shawn Woolley, a young fan of the popular Everquest, committed due to bankruptcy. The game makes you pay-as-you-play, and he played too much. Addiction: people have been known to “forego work, relationships, and even food for the sake of their online play.” Physical problems: many of today’s games have vibrating controllers to give a more interactive feeling. A 15 year-old kid developed “hand-arm vibration syndrome,” burning sensations and inflammation in the hands and arms, due to playing on his Playstation too much. Violence: Senator Joseph Lieberman ran a campaign against Mortal Kombat due to its “spine-ripping gore.” Even Captain Kangaroo was brought in, explaining that videogames teach lessons to kids that would cause a parent to faint. Violence numbing: when a child plays a violent videogame, the terrible news in today’s world barely faze them since they have seen worse in the videogame, even though it wasn’t real.
I believe that participating in such activities can harm the way a child thinks; nonetheless, the way the brain grows and develops. The media becomes a big deal to the way they think and the way they become attached to the games, etc. I highly believe that Will Wright was spot on when he said that the media expands our imaginations and thinking because it makes our minds work. Wright declares, “Games are evolving to entertain, educate, and engage us individually” (213). However, it is not an excuse to constantly play games and spend a childhood experimenting with games. The generation today is an actual disgrace compared to what a childhood use to be like because the only thing kids do now is go to their video games, smart phones, and other sources of social media to escape being adventurous in nature. Kids now do not enjoy going outside for hours at a time and playing, and would rather be in the house sitting on a couch and playing their games. Also talking about the story called “Do Video Games Kill?,” I believe that video games are a harm to children due to the fact that kids who do not normally deal with violence end up killing someone, the video games play a factor. Not only is it the video games that hurt children, but the reading kids choose to read now is a much more mature
Video games, they’ve been around for over forty years helping to keep people entertained, and in the last decade have seen an evolution in technology. As these games developed, so have their
This has been a problem throughout years that children shouldn’t play too much video games because they would get influence to things that they shouldn’t be into. But this would help the children. The article “Your Brain on Video Games” written by Steven Johnson, it discusses different types of video games and there would be a possibility that it would help us. He discusses how his favorite game The Sims and it would help you created a life the way you wanted it to be like creating a family, take care of them, and many more. He would call this some quick reflexes and this would be a non-stop balancing act. By playing this, you would learn new
Excessive video game playing has been a problem with today’s youth they have had more influences over the youth than ever before. That brings to my attention a question, how do video games affect the youth of our society? Excessive video game playing, especially violent video games, can lead to youth violence, a decrease in academic success and many other negative things. I realize that some parents believe that they can be good for children, I agree but I also disagree in some cases. Some parents allow their children to play video games to keep a social life and to learn how to use strategies. This is true in some cases but not in all cases. For instance, other children that play video games alone and are in their rooms constantly can
Over the years there has been a huge controversy over video games; the number one being the effect on the development of children, and this seems to be used a lot as a way to stigmatize gaming as something entirely destructive. In general, there are many misconceptions about video games. The Entertainment Software Association estimates that around 60% of Americans, around 145 million people in all, currently play some type of video game. Despite the common view of video games as being for kids, the average age of a video game player is actually around 29 years old. While most of the media and research available on video games is geared towards the potential for video game playing to have a negative impact,
From the start of the creation of video games, most were viewed as a sole form of leisure. Contrary to popular opinion, while video games today do appeal to the entertainment market, with current and future technologies in the gaming industry, video games can function as a bridge in learning and developing practical skills. A serious game is defined as a game whose primary purpose is other than pure entertainment. Usually these types of games offer assistance in the field of defense, education, science, medicine, and engineering. The original intent of creating a video game was for entertainment purposes but quickly transformed into a wide variety of applied purposes with the rise and advancement of new technology in the video game industry. For example, some games can mirror the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and allows the player to take a risk at investing with
Video games have been accused of contributing too many acts of violence or aggression for decades. What the media misses is that video games have many benefits we haven’t found in any other media. Society should stop being afraid of video games and instead start looking forward to how we can best use them to benefit ourselves and our children. Anyone who doesn’t understand why needs only take a quick look at our society. Surveys have shown that 90% of children in the United States play video games. 70% of heads of households play video games, too. That leads to the average age of video gamers to be 33 years old (Bavelier, “TED”). Society is changing and non-gamers are being left behind.
Most of the research done on video games tends to be done on the possible negative effects associated with the medium. From aggression and violence to the connection to mood disorders, video games tend to get a bad reputation. However, there are studies that have been done about the possible positive effects of games as well. There are definitely fewer positive studies than negative, but they are out there for those who search them out. The study that was used by Kendall Ashley in her article “How Videogames Can Help with Depression and Anxiety”, was not one of those studies.

There are many benefits that I may list on this paper explaining to you what each of them can do for a child or teen. These benefits are not only strictly for children and teens but can also be applied to adults as well because video games can help everybody out. “Problem solving and logic When a child plays a game such as The Incredible Machine, Angry Birds or Cut The Rope, he trains his brain to come up with creative ways to solve puzzles and other problems in short bursts
If you ever wonder why kids aren’t outside, then that’s because they are inside playing the most intricate source of entertainment out there to date. Video games have the best positive effects on everyone, especially children. Just about all video games have been a part of children’s lives for many years. There have been so many game consoles like N64 or the Play Station. These days game consoles have their own controllers and composite games. Each controller has multiple buttons and sticks. Some controllers even have motion control! Video games are second nature to kids today. Playing video games have various positive effects, and unfortunately some negative effects. One of these positive effects
In support of the belief that video games benefit people intellectually, there is a claim that game play provides cognitive, motivational, emotional, and social benefits (Granic, Lobel, Engels). In partial response, video games cannot offer cognitive benefits because they do not offer real life lessons. Yes, game play may allow someone to gain knowledge that will later be applied to the video game, but there are no positive real world techniques to be obtained. Playing video games will not increase and individuals motivational
In recent years, video games have played an important role in the field of education and in treating psychological patients. Video games are a form of self-indulgence, which often provide unique and engaging environments that train players to think fast and resourcefully. With the right design and mechanics, they can facilitate learning and cognitive thinking in diverse levels .Computer games can be used in children with mental health issues, psychological disorders and in chronic disorders like diabetes, asthma or cancer. At the same time video games also have negative effects which may decrease the IQ levels of children and may become aggressive because of the violent games. Thus the video games have both positive and negative effects.
