When it comes to adhere to is victory, I remembered I learn how to play basketball. The whole thing from about nine years ago, at that time I was twelve years old, I had been a sickly child. Stop bringing shame on yourself! Go back home playing with blocks, this is suitable for you. Shrimp!” I am one with strong self-esteem. I have to confess that these words were deeply stimulated me and it is a deep hurt to my pride. When I am prepared to give up, I watched a program of Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant is my idol. Suddenly, I thought back to Kobe Bryant said, he said:”Everything negative pressure, challenges is all an opportunity for me to rise.”and “I just go. I just go. I just keep going until it feels right to me,” Kobe says of his habits. “If something doesn’t feel right, I’m gonna stay there until I get it right. I just continue to keep pushing and pushing and pushing. That’s all I’ve known. That’s how my parents raised me. If you’re going to be focused on something, if you want to do something, you can’t, you can’t go about it in a half-assed way. You really gotta dedicate yourself to it, try to be the best at it. That is the only way. “ Yes, I have my own goals and my path, I need come true my goal. No matter what other people say about me, I had to go on. I should not give up because
Basketball is one of the most popular which is beloved sports that is played today. Michael Jordan, who played for the Washington Wizards and the Chicago Bulls once said, “Just play, have fun, and enjoy the game” (BrainyQuote 2016). Whether playing with friends for fun or by professionals for entertainment or simply watching from home, basketball is very enjoyed all over the world. Beginning with a unique history, basketball has evolved over time from a simple idea into a professional career choice for those with the unique skill set.
Bryant’s accomplishments, competitiveness, and work ethic is very inspiring to the fans of sport. Playing for one of the biggest franchise team for 20 years and winning five championship is something no other player has done except Kobe Bryant. Bryant has also maintained his high level performance in the most competitive league by spending time on his craft for many hours and extending his time on recovery by icing and playing less minutes during each game. One of the most inspiring moment in Bryant’s career is him coming back from torn achilles during the game against the Golden State Warriors in 2013. Bryant tore the tendon as he fell from getting a shooting foul, he stayed on the court and made his two free throws which led to a remarkable win. His eager to win a game is ambitious than any players. At the age of 34, it is very difficult for top athletes to come back from serious injury but Bryant never gave up so he embraced his injury to put himself through a very intense rehabilitation to bounce back from his step back. In the article “Kobe Bryant: I inspire myself by inspiring others” Kobe Bryant stated “ when people say you can’t come back from that…. I’ve had those doubts about myself but i’m not gonna cower to those doubts. I’m not going to be scared” This quote demonstrates how inspiring Kobe is because his willingness to fight back his serious injuries and embracing the fear that is created by others and
There’s a saying that everyone’s said at least once in their lifetime, I’m sure. It’s so cliché, but now I know that there is so much truth behind it. “Believe in yourself.” Rather than giving up on yourself, use your failures to make you better. Learn how to bounce back from adversity and learn from those experiences. This is called using your growth mindset. According to Carol Dweck, research psychologist, in her book Mindset, “In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work—brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment.” It wasn’t until the summer between my junior and senior year of high school that I learned this and of course I learned it the hard way. I had played club basketball for four summers in a row with the Longmont Rush basketball club. I loved the game of basketball and I had spent countless hours working on my skills on the court. I even wanted to play in college. I already had schools scouting me. Unfortunately, in my final season, just before my senior year, my biggest fear came true.
INTRODUCTION: “I have failed over and over again in my life and that is why I succeeded” a quote by Michael Jordan. How many of you believe failure is a prerequisite to success? , how many of you believe that the difficulties and obstacles you’ve faced changed who you are as a person? well, life is not a wish granting factory , it will feel long and tough , eventually at one point you will fail , we all do , but it’s not about failing it’s about how you perceive failure , that is what defines you as a person , Samuel Becket once
You should never give up, and always push yourself to be the best. Striving to be better than you already are is the only way to improve yourself. I expect a lot from myself in order to maintain my positive attitude and outstanding character and citizenship as I grow older and am starting to be a more active participant in my
Giving up is something we see often, whether it is a person giving up on their dreams or someone simply quitting a game. It has been shown throughout history that if you are able to keep up a positive mentality in difficult situations you will be able to achieve whatever it is you seek. In the movie, Glory Road, the team is given many chances to give up, from being harassed to being beat up and threatened, heck even failing in school. However, no matter what happened the coach was able to keep being positive about their chances in the season and managed to pull the team together, ultimately winning the championship. This ability to stay positive in life, even when death threats were thrown his way, shows that a positive attitude is key to finding success.
When I started my basketball life I was a young boy watching the local ballers play in the park hoping I can learn those moves they did when I was older. I used to join my youth center’s basketball teams. As I grew I noticed many things as I kept playing ball like how to keep your mind focused in the goal you want. When I got into my high school years I got interested for the basketball team. I’m 5’4 and not big in size, but I was decided to try-out
I recall practicing every day on my basketball skills being hopeful that I can prove to my older cousins and uncles my skills were good enough to compete with them even though they older, stronger and taller than I was. Even though they were stronger and taller than I was, my handles were always better than there ’s I also had one advantage that they didn’t which was my fast speed which allowed me to be one step
Michael Jordan once said “If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.” I love that quote because it reminds me to never give up. It reminds you that when life puts a wall in front of you, don't give up. Michael Jordan is arguably the best basketball player ever, but that never would've happened if after he got cut from high school basketball, he went home and cried.
Little Mike unwraps a gift on Christmas day and his face lights up as he holds the new basketball in his hands. Then he proceeds to practice every day and eventually becomes one of the greatest to ever play basketball. It took persistence for Michael Jordan to become a professional basketball player. It is easy to give in when faced with adversity. It takes persistence to continue even after failing. I pride myself on my ability to take on challenges and persist no matter the difficulty. I believe that this quality has gone unnoticed, because of the fact that I am humble and do not draw attention to my persistent.
It is easy to imagine how appealing giving up would be and why having some form of a goal helps an individual’s drive to continue
The King of Mazy May teaches you not to give up, the reason why is that is because giving up isn’t the answer to anything, you can do more than just give up and say you can’t do it, there are people that believe in you, like your parents, friends, teachers, etc. Strive as they would, they could not shorten this distance, and strive as he would he could not increase it. 2. Size of a person doesn’t determine what they are capable of. Second, size of a person doesn’t determine what they are capable of.
If you give up, you can’t win. If you give up, you only have yourself to blame. If you give up, you’ll live a life of regrets. Only the strongest, fittest, and ablest survive. Only those who go the distance, finish the race.
"Remember, success is a journey, not a destination. Have faith in your ability. You will do
“Basketball is my favorite sport, I like the way they dribble up and down the court” – Kurtis Blow. My love for basketball started when I was very young, fifth grade to be exact. Growing up I always wanted to try out for my school’s basketball team. When I was young I use to always hear stories about my mom playing basketball throughout junior high and high school. Some of which made me want to play and do something that she loved to do. I eventually started loving the sport as much or even more than she did. This story goes way back to the fifth grade when I first tried out for the basketball team at my elementary school.
