Even though Lebron was born on December 30th, 1984, over 20 years after Jordan was born on February 17th, 1963, basketball influenced his childhood as much as Jordan's early life. Both lived in areas where basketball was part of everyday life, with Jordan growing up in Brooklyn, New York and LeBron in Akron, Ohio, just outside of Cleveland. The two played whenever they could, and almost everyone who watched them play saw their competitive edge and talent. Some did not see Jordan as a rising star like LeBron as Jordan's high school team cut him because he was too short. Jordan worked day-in and day-out until there was no way his high school could turn him down.
Many people think of two men when the question of who the best NBA player is of all time. Some may say Michael Jordan, and some may say Kobe Bryant. They are both insanely good and their statistics are extremely similar, but the statistics lean more towards Jordan. This is why Michael Jordan is better than Kobe in the sport they both love and care for dearly.
