“Stars, hide your fires; Let not light see my black and deep desires”(I, 4, 52-53) This is exactly what the stars did in Macbeth by William Shakespeare. Macbeth wanted Happiness in his life but to get that he used moral sacrifices that led to his demise and no purpose of living. This is demonstrated in the dagger speech and the Tomorrow speech that will be discussed showing his ambition for power and happiness to his demise.
Macbeth shows his desire for power, he was friendly to Banquo before he became the king, but after he became the king, he let three murderers to kill Banquo and his son. “So is he mine, and is such bloody distance That every minute of his being thrusts against my near ‘st of life”(3.1 line 116-118). Macbeth sent three murderers to kill Banquo and his son since they ran away. All he thinks about is to kill more people in order to gain more power. Macbeth didn’t just kill Banquo only, he also killed Macduff’s whole family. “Murderer. What your egg! Stabbing him. Young fry of treachery! Son. He has killed me, mother: Run away, I pray you”(4.3 line 84-87). He killed Macduff’s whole family, he just wanted to make sure he doesn’t lose his power, so he just killed anyone who against him, he’s obsessed with his power, he never cares about breaking other people’s family.
Of course, we know that Macbeth (with some encouragement from his wife) does murder Duncan.
At the beginning of the passage, Macbeth contains confidence because of the words of the witches. Macbeth states, "Till Birnam wood remove to Dunsinane,
I don’t reply and I don’t do what he wants. There’s no way on earth, I’m listening to him. His arm constricts around my neck and I gasp for air, dizziness flowing through me. I wonder how long I can hold out, but I don’t take that chance. “Alright,” I gasp, angrily.
I look up and glare at him. Now was not the time to mess with me.
We-neg slaps him. Sen-head staggers, motions to wave his hand. An outraged, wizard slaps him again. He becomes breathless.
" Okay so I forgot tell me again." I cross my arms and then watch as he does the same. The little dragon scurries across the floor and up my leg and curls up on my legs like a content cat. He makes a disgusted face and sits on a crate and sits with his hands in his lap and his knee together kinda like a rich woman out of her comfort zone would.
He hisses at the scratch marks lining down his face. “What did he say about me now? Am I abusing you today?” He smirks, I don’t. The truth behind that smile is a horrifying reality he will never admit to without an apology.
This time, he grips my arm with his fist and throws me to the ground. I feel a slight pain where my arm connected with the floor, but try to brush it off. “Stop asking me who I am and think about it! I’m sick of your questions!”
he waves his arms . . . I’m going . . . mad . . . he collapses his head in his hands . . .
I glare at him with squinted eyes. My lips tighten while I am trying to fight off the smile forming.
I quietly rip his hands off me and flash him an annoyed look. “What do you think, idiot?” I whisper back through tight teeth.
Instantly hands began to burn but I didn’t let go. Blade raised, I charged at him, slashing over and over. He seemed surprised, but not enough to knock him off his game. The burning sensation was beginning to become too much and I tossed the sword to the ground, falling onto my knees a moment later.
"I apologize for this mess but I 've only got 10 minutes until I 'm late to my meeting," he speaks with such dominance in his tone that it 's actually turning me on. His eyes are on me with a way that shows fascination. Staring
