Many picture America as the land built on the dreams and hopes of immigrants from around the world. However, Langston Hughes argues that such perception is nothing more than a mirage deceiving people since the start of the nation. Through his poem, Let America Be America Again, he reveals the unjust reality of America by using hortative and ironic diction.
