I have to agree with your summary and facts about the largest gangster group in today's world. your information and summary that you provide is very useful which open connection that would be unthinkable in any other society. In addition, they are also legal triad under the Japanese's government law. i personally believe that Yakuza makes quite an impressive analysis on the birth of the Yakuza as an organization. also I believe that the Japanese organized crime has for centuries been linked not only to the financial powers as well as toy the political ones as
After many mixtapes and nearing the edge of household name status, Maryland rapper Logic drops his first album. In this album is a song titled Gang Related. This song tells the story of what environment and household he grew up in. His brother is in a gang and sells cocaine to his father in front of him. Logic's mother is in an out of mental institutions, all the while logic is growing up and trying not to get shot when he walks outside. With drugs and gangs all around him, it is quite amazing that he got out and become a famous rapper. Gang Related also has a core message of stopping the violence, which leads to a question, is this song about his story or a message about ending the violence?
A critical theorist would explain an increase in the juvenile gang population are from peer groups, school, and the community. First, peer groups can be delinquent peers, gang members in class, friends that use drugs, etc. The more kids who are surrounded more often by these groups are more likely to be involved in gangs, especially if these friends are their support group. Second, children who are doing poorly in school because low aspirations, no motivation, or few role models (e.g., teachers, police, and parents) may impact the child to be surrounded by negative peer groups. As a result, there are higher chances of dropouts, change of behavior, and a different lifestyle. Third, the community—where children are raised. A very poor neighborhood
I've tried to make some fasade changes for the slide 8,9,10, and due to the slide filled with text it 's not possible.
In Chicago 2022 in this neighborhood there was the most dangerous criminal on the streets. He was famous, but he was low key famous. This week I read chapter 5 of American street gangs (old book) Tim Deleany mentioned 3 points of what happens inside a gang that many don’t know, the first point is the categories they have based on the age the recruits are, the second point is the categories they are placed in depending on the activities they are involved, the third point is the process that involves the recruitment, punishment, and leaving the gang. At the conclusion of the paper I would be providing an experience my uncle went through when he was leaving the gang.
According to the National Gang Intelligence Center Gang Report, “Gangs are rapidly enlarging into most. Street gangs in particular, which account for 88 percent of U.S. gang membership, have increased their numbers in 53 percent of the nation’s police jurisdictions.” These gangs are drafting their partners while they are in primary or secondary school. You might ask why, because it easy to manipulate these kids minds and they do not think about the outcome that comes with joining a gang. Gang members usually separate themselves from non-members and other gangs by dressing a specific style or wearing a
The two ethnic group I’ve chosen to discuss here are the Norteno and Sureno Hispanics, along with the Bloods and Crips of the African American cultures. Although the groups have several ethnic differences the political aspect of the sets they claim have several similarities. In terms of street gangs, Hispanic, and African American gangs dominate the world of gangs, in size, violence, drug distribution, and representation throughout the country and even internationally.
Chicago is the posse capital of the United States. As indicated by the Chicago Crime Commission, a 2012 Chicago Police Department posse review found there are more than 600 gang groups in the city, with a base joined membership of 70,000. As the quantity of gang in the city build, it's troublesome for groups to control large zones. Rather, groups stick to avenues. Domain debate mean expanded contention and subsequently, more
According to the United States Census Bureau, about 14% of the population lives in poverty. African Americans make up the majority of the population that suffer from poverty, the rate is 24.1%. The second highest percentage is made up of the Hispanic population, at about 21.4%. There is no doubt that the majority of the population living in poverty is made up of minorities. “Whites” make up only about 9.1% of the population. Being poor is caused because of the criminal justice system failing to acknowledge the lack of equality within the system. The book argues that the only ones that are being punished are the “poor and dangerous”.
Many problems persist in communities like the ones described in the articles, “If You Want to Observe’ Em, Join ‘Em” and “Gang Leader for a Day”. Problems consist of high crime rates, poor housing and living conditions, and an increase in violence. These effects happen in those areas because they are usually an “open social network”. They do not have the information like the middle and upper class have. If they have school systems in their society it is not the best education young kids should be getting. The resources are not easily available like we have them. According to James Coleman, “Information is important in providing a basis for action. But acquisition of information is costly” (S104). Coleman states that since receiving information
Among the Thugs, written by Bill Buford an American author and journalist who lived in the United Kingdom at the time he wrote the novel. In the novel, Buford discusses the violent acts of football hooligans and tried to figure out why these football hooligans act the way they do when they are part of the crowd. The football hooligans intrigued Buford when he saw them take over a train in Cardiff. He primarily focused on Manchester United football supporters who call themselves Inner-City Jibbers. Each football team has their own supporters who call themselves firms.

Abstract: This review studies in depth research done on street gangs. Social issues have social scientists turning away from including this in their research around this time. Sociological views have been changed dramatically in the past 40 years due to gender and racial studies. Also, women have started to join gangs since America has been changed with woman equality laws passing.
The problem of classifying gangs has interested both sociologists and law enforcement. For the purpose of law enforcement, a gang is generally defined as an organized group among the members of which there is well-designed communication. This paper evaluates classification schemes from current research for gangs. The objective is to discover the issues and problems in creating classifications for gangs including a definition which delineates what constitutes a gang and differentiates it from other social and sports groups. The paper also compares approaches to classifications of gangs and evaluates how these classifications provide specific insights or information about gangs in a community.
In Yojimbo, Akira Kurosawa satirizes Japanese greed and corruption and portrays the growing influence of capitalism. During this time in Japan, the Yakuza clan was a very strong and dangerous group equivalent to the modern day mafia. The Yakuza clans’ ideals are relatable to two themes prominent in Yojimbo: greed and corruption, and rising capitalist influence. Kurosawa satirizes these two characteristics of the Yakuza clan through the use of mise en scene.
