Yep, I am referring to Las Vegas, Nevada in the U.S. I just had to share this crazy story. If you think Vegas had problems with gambling, crazy tourists and a never ending nightlife you are absolutely right but now they also have problems with bunnies. A couple of years ago in 2015 a Las Vegas resident came home from work to find this teenage daughter sitting on the lawn playing with six bunny rabbits. What was surprising was that these visitors were not your usual dun-colored jackrabbits that live in the Nevada desert but real domestic type bunnies. Being animal lovers they let the rabbits stay and put extra carrots on the grocery list. However these bunnies had plans to become a community and in two month time these people has 24 bunnies
Neros, located at Caesar's Palace hotel and casino in Las Vegas, is a world-class steakhouse serving the hungry masses on the strip. Diners love the clam chowder soup; a cup of which served with crusty bread makes for a great meal starter. The lollipop ribeye, filet mignon with black peppercorn sauce, prime rib, t-bone, and the table side-carved chauteaubriand are all perfectly cooked and served with an array of delectable sides, like creamy mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy, asparagus, mac and cheese, broccoli florets and potato croquettes. Seafood items, like oysters, succulent crab legs, creamy lobster bisque with tarragon, crisp crab cakes and tangy shrimp cocktail are popular with guests and pair great with the beef entrees for a surf
The Point Arena mountain beaver (Aplodontia rufa nigra) is a federally listed endangered subspecies that is restricted to the small area of Point Arena, in coastal Mendocino County, California (Zielinski, et al., 2013). (See Figure 1). The Point Arena mountain beaver is a dark brown, medium-sized burrowing rodent with small ears and eyes, and long whiskers and claws (National Park Service (NPS), n.d.). The subspecies is semi-fossorial, spending most of its five to six year lifespan in underground burrows (United States Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS), 2011). The burrows are typically found on moist and steep north-facing slopes or in well-drained gullies; each burrow contains separate chambers for food storage, nesting, and excrement (NPS,
The La Brea tar pits have been well-known for over a century. Before the rise of European settlers, local Indian tribes used the tar to caulk canoes and waterproof tents. As the Industrial Revolution took off the early 1900s, the tar pits attracted oil men, as asphaltum is often associated with petroleum. Then,
The way a mother doe builds a nest makes it very susceptible to filling with water. Entire litters are lost when this happens, as the blind, deaf, and furless baby rabbits drown in their own refuge. Even when cottontails do survive long enough to leave the nest, many are killed within their first year. While this may seem like a tragedy, it is a harsh fact of life for cottontails. During the first year, I will examine how the natural losses in young affect the mother rabbits.
Long ago, there was a native American called Ishi, he grew tired of eating fruit and vegetables each day and sought out to find something new to eat. Ishi had always wondered what rabbit would taste like, because he would see hawks swoop down and catching them.
“Of Mice and Men” is a novel written by John Steinbeck that takes a look at people and analyzes their needs. On of people’s most essential needs, as shown by the novel, is companionship. People are either attempting to seek companionship, or to hold onto the companionship that they already have obtained. There are people in the novel, most notably George and Candy, who actively try to not be alone by maintaining their relationships. George and Lennie’s relationship is centered around their dream of owning land together.
Throughout the novel Of Mice and Men Lennie has a terrible memory, but he remembers the promise of the rabbit owning. He loves to feel soft things; such as rabbits, mice, and puppies, which were things with fur and soft to the touch. The first night at the new job Lennie asks George to tell him, “about the rabbits (Steinbeck 13), which symbolized his american dream. George talked about “a little house and a couple of acres (Steinbeck 14) where Lennie would “have rabbits (Steinbeck 14). Through the hills and valleys of this novel Lennie kept talking about the rabbits. When he was having a breakdown near the end, thinking George wouldn’t let him keep any rabbits because of what he did, “out of Lennie’s head there came a gigantic rabbit” (Steinbeck 101). It started taunting him saying, “‘Tend rabbits...You crazy bastard...You’d forget’em and let ‘em go hungry” (Steinbeck 102), which symbolized how his dream was crumpling and falling apart. This was his American Dream to own and raise

When they got there they had to make their own warren. The rabbits at first didn’t know what to do because they never saw a warren get built before. It usually was the Does named for lady rabbits who made the holes in the warren. They had an idea of how the warren was supposed to look like, and they started to build it. Hazel was the one who over looked all the work.

According to the ODNR Division of Wildlife, even though Eastern cottontail produced 350,000 offspring in 5 years, less than 1000 of them live to be a year old. Rabbits rarely live to be a year old because they are killed or eaten by hunters or coyotes. The ODNR also says coyotes don't have much of a choice for an easy meal. Rabbits are coyotes prey of choice. Birds, deer, and ground moles are very rare prey for coyotes due to the difficulty of the hunt. We need to move the coyote population or introduce a new population of prey to Ohio. This is just touching the surface when dealing with some of the problems that need to be addressed in order to help maintain the survival of these species.
This theme has developed throughout the book Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck many ways, one piece of evidence that shows this is, After George and Lennie gets situated by the fire, waiting for their cans of beans to be cooked and done, Lennie goes and asks George beggingly and pleasingly if he can tell him about the rabbits and how it’s going to be “George's voice became deeper. He repeated his words rhythmically as though he had said them many times before. “Guys like us, that work on ranches, are the loneliest guys in the world. They got no family. They don’t belong no place. The come to a ranch an’ work up a stake and then they go inta town and blow their stake, and the first thing you know they’re poundin’ their tail on some other ranch. They ain’t got nothing to look ahead”
What makes the photo of my baby cousin, Gigi extraordinary is how cute she was at first glance with her pale skin, red hair, bright wardrobe, and chunky soft skin. It was my first time visiting the West Coast when I arrived in the Phoenix Sky Harbor airport in Arizona. When I stepped off of the plane, the air smelt fresh and felt as dry as a desert. I recall the atmosphere feeling much different than humid and brisk Long Island due to the air pressure feeling much heavier as a result of the diverse altitudes. Due to Arizona having colossal mountains that stretched for miles, filled with sand, cacti, and animals. Signs cautioning rattlesnakes and scorpions were a much diverse sight than the deer a hare signs frequently encountered
To begin this journey through the political corruption that weaves a sinister web throughout the novels, let us first look at the social mechanisms of each of the warrens that Hazel, Fiver, Bigwig and the other heroic rabbits encountered. The Sandleford warren was a prime example of a monarchy political system based upon the uncontested sovereignty of the Chief Rabbit. The Owsla, a military group of rabbits that serve the Chief Rabbit, maintaining control over other rabbits
