Learning from the Holocaust
During WWII when the Holocaust happened, Hitler and the Nazi party acted out the worst genocide this world has ever seen, killing not only Jews but any race they didn’t see superior in their own eyes. They did not just kill them, they tortured them, starved them, worked them to death, even did experiments on some of them. So after all this we can assume the world has learned its lesson and this will surely never happen again, right? Wrong, genocide is still happening even in today's society, but most people just like the ones being slaughtered, are not even aware of what is going on or just shield themselves from it because they don't want to believe it. So how can one of the worst things that has ever happen to this world still be happening to day, like with Syrian refugees? The people were being told that the Jews were being moved someplace safe. In reality they were going to be sent to the forced labor camps so they could work them to death or round them up and throw them in the gas chambers. To make sure that there was no suspicion the Nazi party made propaganda videos to show the public that the Jews were being taken care of. Around 1941 Germany turned on its allies, the Soviet Union, and mobile killing units called Einsatzgruppen, carried out mass shootings as they took over more of Soviet lands (Timeline pg.3). The height of the Holocaust took place around 1942 because that is when the Nazi party intensified its pursuit of the “Final Solution” (Timeline pg.3). The “Final Solution” was Hitler’s plan, and the main focus of the Holocaust, to wipe all Jews off the face of Europe.
