When it comes to who is the best active basketball player, these two names come at the top of the list, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. They come first not only because they both started their career right after graduating from high school, but they have achieved lot and been rewarded so many times base of their great performance at young age. The two players are so great that many people are already saying that they are better than Michael Jordan, “The Greatest Basketball Player of All Time”. James and Bryant so great that basketball’s fans have given them nicknames because of their spectacular performance. Kobe Bryant is known as “The Black Mamba” because of his aggressiveness, and ability to dominate his opponents every time. On the other hand, LeBron James is also known as ‘King James” because he also plays in a very aggressive way just like Bryant and in addition to that, King James also has the ability to defeat his opponent and also able to defend any basketball player and still dominates. Although both of these two players are super stars however, only one of them can be title as the best player of their era and because of that, comparing head to head is the only way to pick one as the best active player.
Kobe Bryant has accomplished so much with his team and also individually. When Bryant was the same age as LeBron James, “He has won 5 championship rings, 2nd in the most points in a game, 3rd all-time in the scoring list, etc. Kobe has so much accomplishments in his
Most people who are older than thirty will say that Michael is better only because they watched him play. Everyone under the age of 30 will say Lebron is better because they are watching him now. Those over 30 will say Michael is better only say it because they don’t want change. They don’t want to accept the fact that Michael is not the best to ever play the game of basketball. They often have the age old argument of “6 rings,” which is complete garbage. What does having more championships have to do with being a better overall basketball player? Having more championships only indicates the best team that year. If we take championships into the conversation, Bill Russell should be considered to be the best player ever because of his eleven rings, including seven straight with countless other accomplishments. Although this is impressive, we’re not talking about the most accomplished player ever but just straight up best to ever set foot on the hardwood. By my definition the best basketball player should be reliable, strong, athletic, and a team player. Someone who you can tell to go make a play and you know that he will do it.
Firstly, Michael Jordan’s whole entire career was incredible. All those years of him soaring through the air slamming the basketball ball with absolute authority, and owning the rim. He took controlled of the game basketball with acrobatic drives at the rim that defy the laws of
Michael Jordan is arguable the best basketball player who ever played the game. A phenomenal athlete with the unique combination of fundamental soundness, grace, speed, power, artistry, and an unquenchable competitive desire, Jordan single-handedly redefined the NBA superstar. The thing that separated Jordan from the rest of the all-time greats was his compulsive need to win. Jordan was and is still known for his intense competitiveness and will to win, but that has not translated to his ownership of the Charlotte Bobcats.
First, a list of his accomplishments. Kobe was drafted out of highschool at the age of seventeen, broke into the league by winning the Slam Dunk contest in his rookie season, and by age of twenty-five he was a three time world champion. He was the youngest person to be named a NBA All-Star at the age of nineteen. The combination of his talents with the talents of Shaquille O’Neal was the greatest “one-two punch” of all time. That is an objective fact. Shaq himself has even admitted that had the duo stayed together after the 2004 season, they most certainly would have gone on to win additional world championships, but Kobe didn’t need Shaq. When it was all said and done, Kobe ended up with five rings to his name to O’Neals four - all five with the Lakers I might add.
Michael Jordan is considered to be the most iconic person in sports history. Since 2002, Lebron James has been compared not only to be the next Michael Jordan but also having the potential of being a better basketball player than him. Some basketball fans might agree and some might disagree, but at the end of the day everyone will have their own opinion of who is better than whom. Lebron James and Michael Jordan do have many things in common even though they play different positions in the national basketball association. They both can dominate the court with their leadership, their skills, and their strength. Surprisingly, there are just as many differences as there are similarities between the
Kobe Bryant is one of the top 10 people to ever pick up a basketball period. This is not something that is up for discussion. But his career is split into two parts. There is #8 and there is #24. The two are different in every way, but help make up what is Kobe.
This just proves he is the best by beating Kobe Bryant who is considered also as one of the best players of all time.

Yelling “KOBE” while throwing a crumpled paper ball into the trashcan is something every sports fan in the world have done at one point of their life. After winning five time NBA championships, voted two time NBA Final MVP, two time scoring champion, his accomplishments speaks for his greatness, and that is Kobe Bryant. Bryant is now a retired professional basketball player who played in Los Angeles Lakers for 20 years. Throughout his remarkable career, Bryant developed a heroic figure as he pursued Michael Jordan’s footsteps and overcoming him toward the end of his career. He is considered a hero because he has the trait of being determined, fearless, and inspirational.
Throughout basketball history, there have been many amazing players to be a part of the NBA. The NBA, also known as the National Basketball Association, is not only the foremost men’s professional basketball league in North America, but is also widely considered to be the top-ranking men’s professional basketball league in the world. One of the most controversial topics in the history of NBA today is whether Michael Jordan or LeBron James is the best player to ever be a part of this association. James began his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers and currently plays for the Miami Heat. Jordan played for the Chicago Bulls for most of his career; however, he played for the Washington Wizard’s from age 38 to 40. According to the New York Times, Jordan announced his retirement in Chicago on January 13th of 1999 (D8). Both player, without a doubt, have left a mark in the history of NBA, Michael Jordan, indisputably, is the best player to ever play in the NBA with his unstoppable defensive and offensive ability along with the determination and leadership he provided for his team.
Kobe has 5 championship rings, 2 mvp (most valuable player) he has played in the league for 20 years. I like Kobe in many ways. Kobe Bryant was good he was smart, creative, he put in many hours and shots in the gym to better himself. Kobe Bryant was not a selfish player that's just my opinion tho.
All of Kobe’s life, he has grown up around hard work with his dad being an NBA player to his dreams and ambitions of being a professional basketball player, so many would say that hard work is a big chunk of his character. Another trait that Kobe possesses that ties in with his hard work is his will to win, and that he would do anything in his power to win, and that is one thing that he wants people to remember about him; “But it's not his accomplishments that stand out. It's his
The GOAT Race: Mike vs. the King With so many incredible players in the NBA, along with the many greats from the past, deciding who is the greatest of all time is close to impossible. Bill Russell, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Julius “Dr. J” Irving are just a few of those with the careers to back this title. Russell Westbrook, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, and James Harden are in the running also, but are not yet finished with their careers. However, sports analysts and fans have not debated any players more than Michael Jordan and Lebron James. Fans lift Jordan and Lebron, Mike and the King, above all other players, repeatedly, for their superior play and championship drive (Sherman).
Lebron James and Kobe Bryant are two of the most explosive players in the NBA today. Each player has his own playing style that separates him from the rest of the league. Both players have their own career achievements, endorsements, and personal life stories behind the game. If you ask anybody, the comparison between these two players is great. It is a never ending debate between who is better because both players have something different to bring to the table. Side by side on paper, both players seem dominant and may one day end up in the basketball hall of fame. But as individuals, side by side, each has a different but similar life.
Many people think of two men when the question of who the best NBA player is of all time. Some may say Michael Jordan, and some may say Kobe Bryant. They are both insanely good and their statistics are extremely similar, but the statistics lean more towards Jordan. This is why Michael Jordan is better than Kobe in the sport they both love and care for dearly.
