Leonardo Da Vinci was a great artist, inventor, and scientist of the high Renaissance, during the 15th century , he affected the Renaissance throughout Italy intellectually through his inventions and ideas, also in the arts through his artistic talents. Intellectually Da Vinci was a great inventor, in Gale it states “Leonardo also worked on several inventions. He designed many mechanical devices, such as a screw jack, a two-wheeled hoist, an ‘armored car,’ a gun with three racks of barrels, and even a submarine”("Leonardo Da Vinci, 2"…) This shows all the inventions that Leonardo had designed, It is seen today that his inventions are still being used to some extent. This shows how Leonardo Da Vinci, had impacted science (in specific areas of science). He studied the human body and dissected to learn about the insides of the human. He made many diagrams to perfect his understanding of the human body. Leonardo Da Vinci did not only affect the Renaissance in intellectual terms but he also had a great impact on art. Leonardo Da Vinci had made many paintings and sculptures including The Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, Virgin of the Rocks, Vitruvian Man, The Baptism of Christ and many more great works. As said before Leonardo dissected the human body, he did this to perfect his art of humans. In Gale it states “He made contributions to every artistic form, from portraits to religious narratives.
