This can also happen after your liposuction surgery. In order to prevent such happenings, you should not move too much for at least 48 hours after your surgery. Usually, your feet are put up. Avoid trying to cross your feet while you are recovering. Also avoid strenuous activities for a while like jogging and weight lifting.

Check your medication: Often people have the tendency to take over the counter medication without informing their doctors. This should be stopped immediately because some products can cause severe bleeding or delay blood clotting. For the best possible outcomes and to avoid any confusion, it is best to talk to your doctor about all of your medication before going under the knife.

Wear the compressor garment: this is perhaps the most important part of the aftercare. You are supposed to wear the harness or the compressor garment at all times after your surgery, at least for two weeks straight. This is to prevent swelling. When showering, you can take if off temporarily after 3 days, but always be sure to put it back on when you are done.
