The literary criticism is the one that studies and evaluates literature from a wide diversity of perspectives; based on this, the reader can interpret and analyze the literary work from different viewpoints and perceptions. The lyric poem titled: I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud, also known as “Daffodils” was published in 1807, this beautiful poem was written by one of the fathers of the Romanticism, the remarkable romantic poet William Wordsworth, according to shmoop.com, (2008): “Wordsworth is a British poet who is associated with the Romantic movement of the early 19th century”. Regarding this argument, the archetypes are part of human life, archetypes are universal codes, for that reason, it does not matter your age, nationality or beliefs, these symbols are well known and recognize by the different societies. The symbolism present in this poem is mostly related to nature; the daffodil is a stunning yellow flower, based on its color and its archetype it represents the spiritual part of the persona in the poem, besides this, the archetype of water represents life and spirituality as well; as moorewiley.weebly.com, (n.d.) mentions: “Water is used in baptism services, which solemnizes spiritual births”.
