I walked to Little Caesars for some pizza one day normally like any other day, but today as I walked through the door… ROBOTS WERE MAKING PIZZA! The cashier asks me if i’m ready to order and I say yes, but it took a while to answer because I was in awe when I saw robots making and preparing pizzas. “Anything new happen because you look like you found something new” said my mom. “I saw robots making pizza, real pizza!” and my mom was in total shocked as if she were having a seizure. The next thing I know, the whole family goes into Little Caesars and everyone got excited. My siblings were running around the place causing a major scene while my mom was blushing so much due to the embarrassment of the little ones while my
Half my friends laughing, the other half following quickly behind to see what’s going on. In between hanging up the phone with my mom and making it to the bathroom with no one behind me anymore, I realized, wow I’m a spoiled brat who got handed everything and reality came and bit my butt hard. I didn’t really need that sweater. Or the necklace I had bought earlier or even those to die for shoes I was drooling over. With this new sense of maturity, I went and returned all those things I didn’t need. When I got home I walk right into my mom’s room handed her the $250 I had just got back, from all the things I “needed” so badly, and told her,” You know mom, what you said was kind of mean but thanks.” She refused to accept my mom so when she wasn’t looking I put it in her purse later that
It took me three times to get use to riding a bike and after I got it down, we decided to head out down the block to Independence park on the bikes. This was the only park in the city that had a mix of a skate park and traditional park. We would usually hang out in the playground since we did not skate. When we got to front of the park we set our bikes down by a wooden fence that separated the grass area and parking lot. Isabel and Bianca had rushed out to the swings and I did some snooping around the park. I was always curious about my surroundings when I went out since I did not have that luxury to be out or play when I would have wanted to. I loved taking in the scenery, the beauty of the nature, and the flowers. They were my favorite thing about visiting Independence park. I was walking around this fence that surrounded the playground until I had reached the restrooms. I noticed this huge brown paper bag sitting on this phone booth. I was secretly freaking out cause I was curious to what was inside. My mom had always told me not be a traviesa (naughty) and that I should never touch what doesn’t belong to me so I rushed off to Isabel and Bianca to tell them about the bag. I figured I needed some partners in crime for this. When I got to the swings I was very out of breath I was a pretty chubby kid growing up, but that still did not stop me from running, I enjoyed it a lot actually. As gathered myself together and took in a deep breath Isabel yelled, “What is it? Why are you running so fast?” I looked up to her and said, “There is a brown on phone booth just sitting there. It’s so strange no one is here at the park and it is just there. Why?” She gave me a look as if I had said the most uninteresting thing on the planet and continued to say, “Okay? Why does this
The middle ages of the west during the tenth to thirteenth centuries were a time of technological innovation. This revolution focused on the study and exploitation of various sources of energy, particularly water and wind, as well as the discovery of new mineral resources and a revolution in agriculture that rivaled that of industry. This boom brought about a cluster of new methods and devices that propelled urban growth and a firm belief in progress. The revolution of the middle age also shows the emergence of some critical factors that are used in modern day capitalism. By the fourteenth century the benefits of these developments were in serious decline. The setting became more of moral uncertainty and ecological crisis because of the continued exploitation of the natural resources. This continued use of resources led to inflation and depression, and of technological decline.
Ryder’s class. So, then I realized that My laptop was in my room. So I opened the door slowly and want to my table and grab my MacBook. Then when I was coming back I fell down on the floor. “Boom”!! Immediately my parents came upstairs like they were going to go run a race, and like they were going to win. They saw my door opened. My sister came to my room with her phone, and says” should i call the doctor, or should I call 911, or wait should I go get your phone and call the doctor”. “Go get my phone, and call the doctor as quick as possible” dad reply after hearing my sister Brooklyn talk a
Mother and I agree to make Oreo cupcakes, candy kabobs, m&m cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and trail mix. I had to work that afternoon and wouldn’t arrive home until nine at night, but mom wasn’t going to start with out me. I got off work smelling like pizza dough, and exhausted, but I knew I had work to be done for the bake sale. While mom was baking the Oreo cup cakes I was putting together candy kabobs. My gloves where all gooey from positioning all the gummy candy on the fondue stick, and my fingers where aching from the twist ties that where used hold the bags together. The good thing was the whole house was full of over whelming smells of cupcakes, cookies, candy, and icing. Finally, my mom and I finished, so we got everything packed up and prepared for the morning of the bake sale. I couldn’t wait to go to bed. We arrived early at seven in the morning to arrange the booth. The booth looked amazing, I just wanted to eat everything that was on the table. When all the booths were ready to go, families began approaching the booth buying our baked goods. The children really enjoyed the candy kabobs. All the kids were walking around with gummy, sticky faces, and kept returning to buy more. Those sold out fast! From eight o’clock a.m. to four o’clock in the afternoon, I stood on my feet trying to get folks to come over and contribute
My brother, my mom, his friend, and I was going to a Vacation for the weekend, driving to San Diego. We've admire and took picture of the sun setting the ocean with the rippling flow and could hear the noise of the ocean fresh breezes, when we got the hotel we was all tired, but we had to get registered a room to go to sleep in. The next day my mom , my brother, and his friend went somewhere without me, selling puppy's to two people. When I waked up and notice that they was gone, I called my mom and said," Mom where are you guys, and long has it been since you guys left," she said, " three hours, and selling the puppy's right now, but it will take a while when come back, so get ready to go get something to eat, ok," ok," I said. when I was
One day there were four kids playing the playstation. Their names were Korey, Javi, Cole, AJ and Lane. Then Korey’s mom called all of them for lunch. Then they went outside, but there was a really old house. We asked my mom and she said, “ yes but but careful”. Then we decided to go to the house at night. So we ate dinner, and then went into my room to get dressed in black spy clothes. At about 11:50 we started to drive down to the old house by riding my atv. It took us ten minutes to get there. We made sure that we had all the gear that we needed. So we went inside, and we saw a dusty dinner table, and we saw old silverware. It was only 12:00 we promised my mom we would be back by 6:00 Then we stuffed started to get strange we was tired so
“How may I help you”said someone at the drive through window.”I would like an extra large fry ,and a large sprite please and that will be all” said the customer.Okay, that would be $3.38,please pull up to the next window”.Over the sound of screaming children, burning grease, and giants speaking I heard extra large fry ”omg that's me” I thought “No i never went before so i'm probably not today”but boy was I wrong. As I am taken out of the freezer I began to panic.I am pored into a net kind of basket and dipped into hot yellow lava. Two minutes later im am taken ot of the net and pored in to an red and yellow box along with my friends.”My mother always warned me about this day,and it finally came.I am picked up by and giant and place into an
Water rolled down my face as I took the last bite of my Cheetos and I supposed of getting something to drink. I ran back to my aunt and got some water, I also told her about what we were doing and she warned me to conclude this nonsense. I went back thinking about it as I hit the ground instantly. I got back up and went back to them, even with me holding my right hand over my left. I finally got to the top, all 3 of them were waiting since it was my turn. I went, but all I felt was blood dripping from my middle finger after some friction. I got back up and gave them the deadly, dirty, and destroyed piece of cardboard, at this moment I knew I had been an unwise little 6-year-old male
No, it still wasn’t a free pizza party, it was a food court. My mom bought me and Stephen to hot dog on a sticks, and then she said, “We’re going to look at a few more trailers.” (DUN DUN DUN!) I sigh, and go with her. It wasn’t that bad, but then it got a little hotter outside. It seemed like a day we were there. For a while, it actually seemed like we were going to buy one, then I asked, “Wait. If we came here in your car, Mom, doesn’t that mean Dad’s truck is still at home?” “Yes,” Mom answered back, “But if we like a trailer here, we might come back with Dad’s truck so we can tow a trailer back home.” We sat in some random trailer that I kinda liked, but then I heard the two most awesome words. No, they weren’t “Free pizza,” they were, “We’re
I whined and went downstairs as my 10-year-old cousin, Caitlin, followed me. My big brother and sister were already to go, and were waiting for me. I went to gather all my belongings and went to put my old and worn out shoes on. I walked down the hallway, into the garage, where I picked up a foul smell of gasoline. I got my shoes and put them on, with my little cousin, Caitlin, still following me. On my way out, I picked up a piece of chocolate, and ate it while chugging down a cup of milk as well.
It was an awkward day at Wal-mart. I was tripping all over the place. It felt as if I was blind. I thought it was going to be a normal day at Wal-mart. We parked our car and headed inside. It was pitch black. The only lights you could see were from the self check-out boards and they were hardly bright at all. My mom said we should go and come back another day, but my dad said we needed groceries badly. I thought we could use our phones, but we left them at the house. We hardly brought our phones with us anymore. So, it was going to be a weird grocery shopping day. Once we walked in we started our usual route and I bumped into a couple of people. I kept hearing people saying “ouch”. I bumped into the aisles hit my head a couple of times. My
A warm, translucent jelly was spread across my abdomen. A screen displayed my internal organs, as the technician operating a handheld machine, glided it across my stomach. An ultrasound, something that was unknown and strange to six year old me. My mom explained it as a procedure most pregnant women receive. Once it was completed, the person operating the bizarre machine wiped away the translucent substance and told us we could go. I was dropped off at McFall Elementary where I walked back to Mrs.Griffith’s classroom. Due to the fact that it was May, the class was decorating styrofoam cups to later put flowers in for our moms as Mother’s Day gifts. I sat down and got to work. Not even ten minutes later, my mom walked in through the door of
The parents started passing out the cupcakes, I didn't get one so I started crying. It’s my Birthday, why didn't I get one first? Then the girl sat me in a high chair and behind her was my mom holding what looked like a hamburger. I stopped crying and looked at her. The salt from my tears were strong and I could still taste it in my mouth, but maybe it was because my hand was in my mouth as well. As my mom walked closer I took my hand out of my mouth and reached my hands up so she could hold me. Instead she set the hamburger in front of me and kissed my cheeks. The hamburger wasn't a hamburger, it was a cake that looked liked one. Candles were stuck on top and had flames on them. Everyone started singing Happy Birthday and then made me blow out the candles. Mom took the candles out and told me to dig in. I stuck my hand in and felt how thick the frosting was before my fingers hit the cake. As I was diggin in Mom was taking pictures and laughing. It was the best cake ever! I couldn't eat it all because I would have gotten sick. So mom took it away after awhile. Mom picked me up as the took the cake and washed me off. All the kids went back to play with their toys and the bouncy balls. In my mom's left arm we walked outside where I saw my brother and my dad. Mom let me down so I could run to them. When I was running something came from behind my dads
The Romans were extraordinary builders and professional civil engineers, and their flourishing civilization formed developments in technology, culture and architecture that endured for centuries. Ancient Rome had several qualities that made their civilization successful but most importantly through the advancements of technology and innovations that flourished throughout the ages that are still used in today’s society. The legacy lives through the inventions of the aqueducts, concrete, newspapers, battlefield surgery, bound books, roads and highways, roman arches, and the twelve tables. All of these inventions and innovations served as their own individual purpose that made the civilization boundless which is why I interested in this research topic.
