Margot, I apologize for locking you in the closet. I was so mad at you for saying that I was wrong on how I described how I saw the Sun and that the way you remembered seeing the Sun was correct. I didn’t understand why you acted the way you did over the Sun. I am sorry that you didn’t get to see the Sun. It truly was a beautiful site to see. It was as you described. “It’s like a penny," "It’s like a fire,". I thought I remembered what the Sun looked like. I was wrong. When the sun came out I saw the Sun and what it really looked like. Margot, you were right about the Sun and I am sorry for how I treated
Lena Lingard is the best example of a non-domestic central character which appears amidst the domesticity of My Ántonia. Often the sections which feature Lena instead of Ántonia are seen as confusing divergences from the plot line of a novel that purports to be about the woman named in the title. However, since Lena appears in the novel almost as often as Ántonia, and more often than any other character except Jim, she is a central character. Lena is a working woman who refuses to accept the constraints society places upon her. Even when society predicts that by becoming a dressmaker instead of marrying she will fail and become a "loose" woman, she disrupts their expectations
We flew down the bumpy trails with dust in our face. Maria took Rachel and I four-wheeling with some friends. It was two o’clock in the morning and my mom didn't know where we were. Maria Tormanen is my older sister. Maria has a positive influence on me because she is always pushing me out of my comfort zone. She supports me in what i do and she goes after her dreams, I admire that.
Her eyes were blinded by the sight of the lightning. Margot stepped slowly out of the closet. She looked at all of her so called “friends” thinking of why they did this to her. She thought, “What did I do to them to deserve this?” She had never shoved their faces in the dirt, or stolen their lunches, she had never spoken a word to anyone. Maybe that was the problem? She cared for the other children even though, they were not as intelligent or self-assured as she was. She didn’t degrade them for this, in fact, she wanted to be like them. Margot hated every part of being different. She wanted to forget the sun that she used to see and be like the children.
Elise Davenport was not having a good night. Just the day before she put her whole career on the line thanks to a few glasses of champagne. Loose lips can sink ships, and they can obliterate your social status. So here she was, stumbling through Fairhaven Park in pitch blackness, looking for the cabin she rented. She'd just hung up the phone with her agent when she heard the rumbling growl come from beside her. Not a good night at all...

When war broke out, there was no way the world could possibly know the severity it would have taken on the people of the world. Fortunately one country saw and understood that Germany and its allies would have to be stopped. America’s Involvement in World War II not only contributed in the downfall of the insane Adolph Hitler and his Third Reich, but also came at the best time and moment. If the United States entered the war any earlier the consequences would probably have been worse.
Throughout my life there have been few people that have made an impact in my life, but the one that has made the greatest influence in me is my older and only sister, Diana Cienfuegos. Although we often argue, I know I was very fortunate to have someone who guided me through the right path in life. My sister has been my role model as a student, given me strength when I need it, and helped me in whatever she could to make me happy.
"Hey get back here!" rocks crumbled under my feet as I sprinted across the cement floor. I glanced behind me with a small grin as the baker of a little cafe tries to catch up to me.
Imagine you are different than every kid around you, and you get harassed because of it. In the short story, “All Summer in a Day” by Ray Bradbury it describes how a group of scientists that brought their children to the planet Venus to create a new life. The main character Margot is much different than the kids that she goes to school with. Everyone accept Margot was born on Venus, but Margot moved her when she was four. On Venus it never stops raining, and they never see the sun. Margot remembers what the sun looks like and deeply misses it. The children on Venus are jealous of Margot’s opportunity, and this causes them to treat Margot poorly, and make bad decisions. The author uses metaphors, craft, to illustrate this, along with locking
Margot Fonteyn is known as one of the greatest classical ballet dancers of all time.
After waking from a full fifteen hours of dreamless slumber, Diana Martin sat straight up and then opened her light blue eyes. Raising her arms high above her head, she generously stretched her pale, slender, well-rested body. Stirring atop the smooth granite platform, she watched the sun glow burnt orange as it slid beneath the horizon. While tracing her fingertips over the cool stone structure that supported her, she thought about how much she missed the red silk sheets of her Victorian-style bed back home, for they virtually hid the blood expressed by her victims, in particular, the ones she feasted on just before bedtime. The flow of warm, thick hemoglobin into her body always helped her sleep so soundly.
She’s the most wanted criminal, the one who got away with brutal murder… It started off as a harmless thought and slowly but surely it attacked her body throughout. It shredded through every loving memory and every cheerful thought at the seams; every social outing she was invited to became nothing. She became nothing. She felt like a ghost floating about in the background, and so she stopped. Stopped going out, stopped talking and even wanted to stop existing. Before her unfortunate end, Isabella made sure that she wouldn’t be remembered by anyone. No longer was she the popular girl that everyone admired she was a soulless empty beast that destroyed everything she once had a passion for.
Thanks to her I forgot where I was in my presentation. I hated talking in front of people and bein interrupted was not making it better. I desperately tried to find the last sentence I said, after a while I gave up so I had to start all over at the beginning of the slide.
Impressionism initiated in the 19th century. Characteristics of this movement included small brush strokes and emphasis on light’s changing qualities (Impressionism). An artist known to many for his Impressionism work was Claude Monet. Post-Impressionism also developed in the 19th century. This French movement primarily concentrated on capturing naturalistic lights and colors (Post-Impressionism). Not only did Post-Impressionist paintings focus on light, but they also sought to capture the essence of the portrayed subject (Sayre 1094). Paul Gauguin and Vincent van Gogh were some of the artists who conducted this Post-Impressionism crusade. There are some similarities between these two types of art. They both distinctly use vivid colors and
All saw was a big pile of sadness. A once hopeful girl for the future is now a depressed sad girl. Margot had missed the beautiful shine and how it brings warmth to her pale skin. Margot stepped out of the closet slowly. Margot’s heart is beating as fast a cheetah. The children were scared for they did not know what Margot was going to do next. Margot moped madly. As Margot walked away she heard the thunder laughing at her. Margot started running. Then she heard the wind whispering even louder than what it was before. Margot sprinted to her bedroom. Margot immediately pounced on her bed like a predator attacking its prey. Then ZAP BANG BOW. The lightning got even louder. Margot got consumed with her sadness . Margot finally fell asleep. Margot
