I have chosen Mario Madiai as a person that stands out because he is an inspiration. Mario Madiai has impacted my life by being very kind. He has taught me soccer, which has changed my life in many ways. Soccer has made me more athletic, have more friends and have more skill. He patiently played with me and made me the player I am by playing with me and showing me the all I need to know. He also takes me underwater fishing with hooks, spears, and spearguns. We have made a very tight bond by catching all different sea creatures together, and enjoying them for dinner. Mario has also showed me all of the culture of Italy, he has taken me around the entire state, from the mountains to the Mediterranean. The thing I have the most connection with

This celebration started off 2500-3000 years ago that was created by ancestors of Indigenous nations to commemorate the death of their family members. This celebration has dated back from an Aztec festival for the goddess Micteccachihualti and has become a national symbol for the nation. The Mciteccachihualti was a queen of the dead in which the people of this time used skull as the Mayan and Aztec traditions. The origins of the day of the dead begins in ancient Mesoamerica cultures and arrives in Mexico in the early 1500s. The skeleton images are associated with this holiday, such as Calaveras made with sugar and decorated with bright colors that establish a unique Mexican style of art. The skeleton was used to represent the dead playfully ridiculing the living in ancient rituals. The day of the dead is celebrated on November 1st. on this day we commemorate the deaths of the infants or children who passed away and on November 2nd. It is referred to commemorate all adults who passed away.
Most Floridians are aware of the name Jose Martí and his significance to the Spanish-American War; however, many of these same people fail to understand that Martí and this war are just the tail end, albeit the triumphant end, of a long struggle for independence that lasted approximately thirty years. From 1868-1878, Cuban rebels fought for Independence in what has become to be called, “The Ten Years War” (Poyo: 1979, 289). While the wealthy Cuban elites relocated to New York, it cannot be forgotten that it was the displaced Cubans in Key West, Florida that largely financed the military efforts of The Ten Years War. Not only did they raise the majority of the money, but also supported the campaign themselves by joining different expeditions and raids throughout the war effort. In this account, I hope to give you a better understanding of how the thousands of Cubans who fled to Key West during the diaspora of the Ten Years War, while almost forgotten, became the foundation layers of the Spanish-American War, and the baton that would pass between generational, Cuban, rebel leaders against the Spanish presence on their island.

The person that has probably influenced me the most throughout my life is my best friend, Jalen Williams. We grew up doing everything together ever since kindergarten. We’ve only had two of the same classes, in kinder and first grade, but outside of school we would hang out 24/7. There was even a period of time when I had to live with him for two years because of financial issues. Jalen has not only taught me what a great friendship is, but also how to find the brightside in any situation.
