For about three quarters of my life, I have belonged to the martial arts community. While other kids were kicking a soccer ball, playing Xbox games, or playing the piano, I was tying the belt on my waist.I was tying a belt on my waist and stretching my body to prepared for an intense kicking practice. Martial art has been my second discipline right after my parents’. Living under the rule, which emphasizes respect for others, I learned how to bow before how to read. My basic strength was always better than anyone in the classroom. In the community, I was both mentor and mentee. To my Saboo, I was a sincere trainee who arrived the class first, but to younger trainees, I was their thoughtful mentor who checked their moves one by one. I practiced
My opponent is my teacher and my ego is my enemy. During the beginning of 9th grade I had always wanted to get a membership at a gym and so happen that my cousin started working at this new gym called UFC, she invited me to check it out. Monday in the afternoon, I went to the gym and from the moment I first stepped foot in that gym I loved the vibe there. Everybody pleasantly welcomed me. I first started taking DUT (Daily Ultimate Training) classes which worked more on strength and conditioning. Then several different classes, however the one class that caught my attention the most was the Brazilian jiu-jitsu class. Mentoring may be considered as a tool to support the ongoing development and success of people undertaking a new role or new within the organisation altogether. As a means of introduction to my workplace the Boatswains Faculty, which is a sub organisation of Training Authority Maritime Warfare (TAMW) within the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) new staff go through an induction period to ensure they hold the necessary knowledge and skills to teach. Throughout this essay, I will refer to correspondence with a mentee, mentor and supervisor within my workplace. I have changed the names of the correspondence for privacy reasons. I will analyse the mentoring scheme its strengths and weaknesses, and the perceptions of those interviewed on its effectiveness, my mentoring progress and strategies for the ongoing development of my roles as a mentor.
“Techniques, forms, and self-defense” Once he said this I felt as if all the black belts eyes fell upon me. I gulped nervously to myself after trying to figure out how to successfully defend myself from three of the daunting, large black belts who could easily pummel me. I tried to remain calm and collected but, my right leg kept shaking vigorously which I got control of eventually. We began the techniques portion, all three of us went at the same time doing all of the same techniques. After successfully completing the first three, I felt more confident that I could easily get through
Today, I am a black-belt in that specific art and have learned that perseverance and patience are the greatest virtues anyone can have. I have taken these lessons, and applied it to many other categories such as schooling, how I plan my life after high school, and how I plan my free time. Another life lesson that I have learned from my family is self-reliance. There have been many times where I would ask my parents for help on something to which they would respond, "figure it out." This taught me that I'm not always going to have help with the task at
In my next mentoring relationship, no matter if I’m the mentor or mentee, I will apply the skills I have learned through this program with the hopes of improving upon them still, through practice. I will greet my new mentor or mentee with open arms, knowing that they are giving me the opportunity to learn more, to practice my skills, and to help make others better in turn.
The Father Allah stated, “When you’ll come together, you will see me.” This is how they were able to master their Supreme Mathematics and 120 lessons. So the same idea was conveyed with the Martial arts, the practice and the techniques that are, and can be learned training from Books//literature…etc by "Coming Together.” Through the drawings, (pictures) one can better himself one move at a time, just like the lessons are studied and it becomes possible to learn even from a book through time, dedication, sincere practice and
One might believe optimistic outcomes require years of training. However, a recent study showed that novice practitioners were fully proficient in twenty-one different moves after only twenty-nine hours of training (Burke, Protopapas, Bonato, Burke, & Landrum, 2010, p. 31).Taking into consideration a daily practice in martial arts; observation of positive outcomes can be achieved in early as one to two months after implementation. Further, by training all students, there is a potential for transfer of knowledge to younger siblings, thus further reducing the time to benefit from the implementation of the program. In general, by eliminating apprehensions over safety, distress around cost, and hesitation regarding time to benefit, there is a clear route to realizing the overall positive aspects of a martial arts
Mr. Parker: Thank you Julie. I decided to create this style of martial arts because I have lately been noticing that the martial arts that were created many years ago, are not being adapted to the present world. I have lately been seeing many problems with this

With the development of the more organic and less formal organisational structures the role of mentors has shifted with these changes. As opposed to more recently where a mentor would have to be more of an emotional counselor and demonstrate more skills than were traditionally required from
