The Middle age or Medieval period lasted from the 5th to the 15th century. The medieval period is subdivided itself into Early, High and late Middle ages. In these periods miracle plays and mystery plays are developed. It focused on Bible song and Bible stories. They developed from 10th to 16th century rise of the professional theatre. During 15th and 16th centuries the plays were more famous in Europe. English renaissance was the period of 14th to 17th century. It acts as the bridge between the middle age and modern history. Sonnet was introduced from Italy to England during this period. The poets were not a formal group, but they are influence by Ben Jonson. The last great poet of the English Renaissance was John Milton. He published his number of works and major works during Restoration period, including “Paradise Lost”. Restoration Age was 1660-1700 century. During this century Restoration literature and Restoration comedy was the main article of this century. The first newspaper was the pioneering of literary criticism from Dryden. The official break in literary culture caused and created a gap in literary tradition. Poetry, prose, drama were lifted during this century. Restoration period prose was dominated by Christian religions writing. In eighteenth century Augustan literature and 18th century literature were the main articles.
