Currently the Center for Disease Control Prevention has tracked a serious strand of e-coil, to a common meal item or ingredient served at Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurants in several states. Out of those 45 people that have came in contact with the strand of e-coil 16 of them have been hospitalized due to the severeness of the strand. Chipotle ventured into a new territory when it was created, as it had an innovative vision for fast-casual restaurants. By using fresh and quality ingredients, Chipotle raised the bar in their segment. The service line where customers could see their order being prepared enhanced the experience of Chipotle. Consumers who were used to eating at fast-casual restaurants where the food was frozen and made out of sight were able to savor the uniqueness of Chipotle. These differences helped Chipotle become successful. However, as competitors copy the traits that make Chipotle unique, Chipotle must adapt and overcome in order to remain a profitable company.
One thing that is obvious is Chick-fil-a wants to help young people have a future. They do so through education, entrepreneurship, and leadership. The restaurant supports organizations who help children learn by encouraging children and giving them the tools to become successful in their schooling. One of the things the company is trying to do is help young people become entrepreneurs which will help newer generation give back to their communities. As well as entrepreneurs giving back so will those who learn how to become effective leaders. The websites were filled with ways how they help the community, but I did not find the same on the Chipotle website. Chipotle talks about fundraisers, but does not say anything about trying to help the community, nor does it talk about scholarships. Chick-fil-a is an active part of the community.

Throughout this research I found that Chipotle has done more damage to the company than just letting down its customers. They have to now face the fact that those outside suppliers are now shying away from business with them because it will make them look bad to future partnerships. Chipotle is now in a state of bringing their company back in a good light by offering different promotions and coupons for loyal customers and customers they need to gain back. They have to go back into the company and figure out how to control the quality of all of their supplies. In my research I made note of a lot of the activity that occurred when the outbreak of E. coli in their meat began and how it spread. I also touch bases on how the company plans to
My first recommendation would to have each Chipotle to be more involved in their community. By this, I mean, that if there are community gatherings, such as block parties or festivals, Chipotle should establish itself and use it as a place to market and sell their food. My second recommendation would be to find more ways to recycle. From my experience at Chipotle, many of the bags and tin foil used to wrap the burrito just get thrown away. Not only would this reduce costs, but this would also be a good practice to attract new customers.
