Intro
First question, why does immigration have such a bad shadow overcasting it?
It’s because that every so often people go across without asking. This is called illegal immigration it usually occurs when people in poor countries try to immigrate but don’t have enough money. But the bad thing is people think that all Mexican immigrants are illegal.
Causes
But why would they leave their home country
One reason is the rich had absolute power over the poor, that started the Mexican revolution. In which texas seceded from Mexico. The reason of immigration due to poor economic systems still exists today. Poor economics was one of the biggest reasons of Mexican immigration to this day, however another large wave of immigrants came from Mexico during WW2 (World War 2). The reason of this wave of immigrants is during the war all the farmers and field workers were signing up or being drafted into the military. So the united states congress decided that the Mexicans would take the place of the used to be farmers now solders. The reason that congress decided the mexicans could work at the farms was that the Mexicans were A: not fighting in the war

You could just take all you had that you want to bring to the different country, strap it down to a wagon, and get moving. It was easy at that time to immigrate because most of the US was still indian territory. So the Mexican immigrants could find a good clearing with a surrounding forest and build a home. But now we get to later times of the Mexican American War the US had expanded by that time and because of the war the US didn’t really like the Mexican peoples so they discriminated against them and sent them back to Mexico (at this time a very poor country). Now let's go to a more recent time of the last twenty-ish years. Mexico is still a poor country and the poor workers want a better place to live
Mexican immigration has been uprising ever since WW2. mexican immigration caused a lot of mexicans from mexico to come to america to find safer healthier lives. There are a lot of push and pull factors for mexicans coming to america.
In the beginning of immigration it all started with slave trade, which was a global force in the Atlantic and later Asia. At first Africans were taken from their homelands and shipped to America to do labor work. People already in America, were eager to purchase a slave to do their dirty work at no cost. Just as things went negatively for the African American slaves, later the Native Americans, who were already here in the United States, were forced to move or killed. A large amount of Natives died from disease, war, or migrating to the West leaving a small amount of them in the United State’s territory.
The two countries were still in tense conflict but seemed to help the other in times of need. While the U.S. was fighting in World War I, Mexicans were encouraged to migrate to help out with the labor shortage. Mexicans also fought in the American Civil War and the U.S. accepted migrants and refugees from Mexico during the Mexican Revolution (1910-1920). Also, times were changing and farming was not a stable enough income so many Mexican migrant workers moved from rural areas to those participating in mining and machinery. Along with the rapid increase of Mexican immigrants into the U.S. for job opportunities and safe haven, were immigrants coming over from many other countries for similar reasons. This higher density in population led to a rise in crime rate. This led to
With the new presidential election coming in the next year, and presidential candidate Donald Trump and all of the controversy of illegal immigration is taking things to a whole other level. Coming from illegal immigrant parents it makes it very disturbing for me to see what society has become and what they are making immigrants seem like. Making the Hispanic look incompetent and unworthy of our country when in reality it’s that immigrant that has helped our country grow. It’s that hard working human being that is striving for growth. How shameful to see that the citizens of this actual country take it for granted when others aspire to belong.
Immigration is a great thing in my opinion. Immigration brings new people to new places and new foods and different ways of agriculture. People also bring together religion and races that combine and make new races. If immigration didn't happen then we would only eat certain types of food only have one or two types of religion and be a very simple, boring type of people. Also we wouldn't have certain materials because most inventions we use today were not only made by the people whose parents were not born here, because most of their parents or they themselves were not born here.
Does the current Mexico-US border protect American citizens from immigrants entering the United States from Latin American countries and has border security had any effect in the U.S economy in the past ten years? For the past ten years the United States has had a massive surge in immigration across the Mexico-US border. What has been alarming, however, is how many of these immigrants are minors under the age of eighteen. Notwithstanding, the real issue is whether or not the billions of dollars spent annually by the United States government is actually protecting Native Americans from any threat or harm. This essay will explore the issues behind immigration in the United States specifically those focused on Latin American Immigrants and the
This has to do with the pollution in air and water in Mexico due to factories being near rivers. The factories contaminate the drinking water for the citizens which severely affect them. The citizens cannot count on the rivers for drinking water so they must resort to water wells, although most of the water wells are contaminated as well. The pollution prevents crops from being grown and does not allow the people to preform proper hygiene. This makes poor living conditions for the people which make them want to leave their homeland. Another reason for the immigrants wanting to leave Mexico is due to the lack of jobs so many citizens are poor. It is mostly the business owners that have money and don’t have to worry about supporting their family. The owners chose not to restore cities and let it get worse which is why it is bad in Mexico and why the people want to leave. (Egendorf
The United States and Mexican border has been a topic long debated between citizens and politicians, on one hand the trade between the two countries has shown great economic prosperity since the introduction of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), notwithstanding this success there has also been a huge spike in human trafficking and other illegal activity since the inception of the border. While the growth of the GDP for all three countries involved (United States, Mexico, Canada) has become evident it is unclear whether it is truly fair to all parties involved.
There are certain factors that attract for the high number of immigrants in the U.S. The U.S. is regarded as one of the most developed democratic countries in the world, and it has the constitution based on the need to address the interests of all groups and individuals. Immigration is a problem that the United States has faced for many years. Immigration to the United States started around the year 1600 during the first European settlements on the east coast. The first successful English colony started in 1607 in Jamestown, Virginia.Once tobacco was found to be a profitable crop, many plantations were established along the Chesapeake Bay.This began the first and longest era of immigration, lasting until the revolution in 1775. During this time settlements grew from English in the New World to the British America.Large numbers of young men and women came along as indentured servants to the colonies who needed help on the farms,or shops. They were provided housing, food, clothing but did not receive wages. At
Mexicans first “came” to America after the Mexican-American War. Mexico had ceded some land possessions to the United States at the end of the war with The Treaty of Guadalupe- Hidalgo. Soon after, Mexicans began filtering into the Northern states because of labor. The immigration began with only a handful of Mexicans. According
During World War II, the U.S. and Mexico reached an agreement in which a massive number of Mexicans would be transported to America as temporary workers in agriculture because of the anticipated worker shortage created by the war. (6) Of all the labor used in production throughout the first half of the century, 75 percent is believed to be Mexican. (7) It is obvious then that since the beginning of the century, the United States has been a source of employment for Mexicans out of work and it is this attitude which has created the incentive for Mexican migration during the latter half of the century.
Immigration has been part of our History for as long as we can remember. This whole country is made up of generations of immigrants. The Europeans came into America as immigrants when they came and invited the Native Americans. Today we are still getting immigrants from different places all over the world, but the one that gets the most attention is Mexico.
The United States receives more immigrants than the combined total of the rest of the world. Many decades ago, because immigrants were needed as a way for obtaining labor, development, and achieving increased as a nation, the US borders became relaxed. There was a general movement of people immigrating from Mexico to North America, for many reasons, including better jobs, wages, educations, and escape from local violence. In the earlier part of the twentieth century, the US government started irrigation projects, which further drew attention mainly from Mexico. After 1917, as a result of an immense overflow of immigrants, the government imposed a tax and literacy tests on the immigrants to strict the immigration policy. Additional restrictions were created after World War I resulted in an increase in pressure towards illegal ways of immigrating.
Patterns in history suggest that mass immigration has occurred because the economy policies in other countries aren't as attractive as those in America. Also along with this timeline of immigration, comes a timeline to fix and prevent mass immigration from overrunning the country. The first original 1790 Alien Naturalization Act had given the first rules that needed to be followed by all of the country in the granting of national citizenship. And the most recent Arizona Anti-Immigration law to requiring migrants to have papers in order to prove their right to be in the country. Attempts to seize
