Modernist movement is a change in art and architecture during late 19’s and early 20’s. Modernism, in general, includes the activities and creations of those who felt the traditional forms of art, architecture, literature, and activities of daily life were becoming outdated in the new economic, social, and political environment of an emerging fully industrialised.
The first characteristic associated with modernism is nihilism, the rejection of all religious and moral principles as the only means of obtaining social progress. Modernism is defined by its stiff break with traditional approach of poetry and verse. Modernists examined literary form and expressions , making it new and giving it a new form and making it interesting which would also gain people’s attention . Literary movement was motivated by a mindful ambition to repeal traditional approach of expressing new sensibilities of that time. 19th century was literary of all because there were several cannes in different forms of literature like poems novels theatre etc.

The term modernism comes from famous artist Charles Baudelaire, when he asked fellow artists to step away from neo-classicism and turn to modernity.
