Modernist movement is a change in art and architecture during late 19’s and early 20’s. Modernism, in general, includes the activities and creations of those who felt the traditional forms of art, architecture, literature, and activities of daily life were becoming outdated in the new economic, social, and political environment of an emerging fully industrialised.
The first characteristic associated with modernism is nihilism, the rejection of all religious and moral principles as the only means of obtaining social progress. In other words, the modernists rejected the morals of the society in which they were living in. Modernism is defined by its stiff break with traditional approach of poetry and verse. Modernists examined literary form and expressions , making it new and giving it a new form and making it interesting which would also gain people’s attention . Literary movement was motivated by a mindful ambition to repeal traditional approach of expressing new sensibilities of that time. 19th century was literary of all because there were several cannes in different forms of literature like poems novels theatre etc.
Modernism in art combines artistic work formed during the period spanning approximately from 1860s to the1970s ,and marks the pattern and ideology of the art formed during that era. the term is usually correlated with art in which the heritage of the past have been launched aside in the will of experimentation. Modern artist analysed different ways of seeing and with fresh concept about the quality of materials and objective of art. Modern art includes various painters without whom development of modern art was incomplete e.g. vincent van gogh, paul gauguin ect. Modernism finally generated reactions, most extremely postmodernism which desired to preserve pre-modern aspects, while Neo-modernism has emerged as a reaction to Post-modernism.
Modernism in all is a movement that lead to various changes be it music, art, literature, architecture ext. It gave people a different form of living. It also lead to religious growth and change in people’s thinking. it didn’t only modernise the creative and artistic work but also the thought process of the people. in one sense modernism is a struggle towards a better future of autistic world with no religious
