Many have dreamed of ascending it, but few have reached the top. Located in the Maha longer mountain range on the border of Nepal and Tibet. The British first surveyed Mount Everest in 1856; however, the first successful ascent wasn 't until 1953 by New Zeeland 's Sir Edmund Hillary and Nepal 's Tenzing Norgay. Originally known as Peak 15, it was name Everest in 1865 after good surveyor Sir George. Everest is also known as Como LAN GMA means goddess mother of snow in Tibet and Sagarmatha meaning mother of the universe in Nepal.

Everest is so high; the top reaches into the earth 's Stratosphere and crazily enough. It 's only getting taller shifting tectonic plates cause ever to rise about one-third of an inch per year. Mount Everest is the most grueling, exhausting, and dangerous peak on the planate. Climbing Mount Everest is not an easy job. On the mountain climbers are losing at winds of up to 200 miles per hour and temperatures as cold as negative 73 degrees Celsius. The avalanches are frequent as are fallings rocks and crevices are broad and profound as the football field. Then there 's the biggest danger of them all . The death spot located at 26,000 247 feet. The oxygen level in the Everest is only one-third of that sea level.
One very off-putting factor for climbing Mount Everest is the climb itself. This is because of all of the risks taken when doing so. All of the risks are very extreme and most can actually lead to death as many that have attempted making the treacherous journey up the mountain have not made it back down safely. This factor can become stuck in many people’s heads and change their minds about making the journey up this beautiful mountain completely. Although several see the travel up the mountain as dangerous and unpleasant, many also see it as the best part of the whole trip. This makes perfect sense seeing as during this climb you can experience some of the most beautiful scenery anyone would ever have the chance to see in their entire lives. The climb has been said to be beautiful and well worth all of the hardship of injury and pain. Overall the climb up the mountain can be seen as the whole reason not to climb Mount Everest or the very reason to do so, but either way the sights you can see are magnificent, or are they?
The entire journey up the mountain is full of danger. You constantly have to worry about the oxygen you are getting and people around you are dying. The air is thin and if there is any air, it’s contaminated. You have to worry about getting the disease H.A.P.E. You have to worry about your health 24/7. You have to get past impossible obstacles. You just have to be strong. Climbing the mountain is an endless, painful battle. No matter what is happening outside of the mountain, on Mount Everest all that matters is Survival.

Everest has been called a Himalayan Wonder because of its geography and weather extremes (Urmann). By exploring the geography, the people who have tried to climb it, and the supplies you will need, one can see how brave the many people who tried to climb it have been.
Why is Mount Everest so dangerous? The people who want to climb Mount Everest are aware of the risk… But actually, the risk is part of the attraction for some people. Not everyone can manage the treacherous climb. In fact, some people pay with their lives for climbing Mount Everest. Everest is 29,035 feet from its base to its peak. The people who climb Everest are very skilled. People do not have the right to rescue services when they put themselves at risk because, they are making a life threatening risk to themselves and they are also making a risk to the people who are trying to save them.
In examining the information from the book called Into Thin Air I found it useful to collect some of my own historical information about the mysterious and magnificent Mount Everest. Nobody ever realizes that Mount Everest is actually being used as a giant junkyard instead of maintaining its beauty. Even for an experienced climber Mt. Everest's weather is the hardest to get acustomed to and climb in. Everest has experienced everything from snow to sleet, from rain to hail, and from sun to blasting, freezing wind. If you get stuck in a storm nasty enough, you are at risk of dying.

There are many dangers on Everest such as, avalanches, cravasses, strong winds, steepness, and thin air. Bill Burke is a 69 year old mountain climber. At the age of 67, Bill decided on taking on the ultimate challenge of climbing the great Mount Everest. Although he has climbed other mountains before, such as Mount Rainier and Mount McKinley, Mount Everest would be much more challenging due to its height and dangers. On Bill’s attempt to summit Everest, he would like to find different paths along the mountain.
Mount Everest is the most dangerous of the seven summits. Many people perish from not being able to acclimatize,not acclimatizing to mount Everest can cause swelling in the brain and lack of oxygen. In the movie of rest to acclimatize their bodies they had climbed the mountain three different times.

The Mount Everest is the world’s highest hill, the weather there is very extreme, many people died there. But still, there are indeed people who are able to take on the challenge, put themselves to their very extent and get on the top of it
