Is it worth to risking your life to climbing high mountains or look like a champion? I have any opinions of how I feel about if Everest should be kept closed or opened. Mountaineering is a type of sport that involves climbing on mountains. I don’t think that Mt. Everest should be opened and I will be explaining and giving my opinion of why I think Everest should be closed and not to be opened again.
First of all, I think that doing mountaineering is a dangerous type of sport because you can put your life at risk if you don’t have the right materials. When people go mountaineering on Mt. Everest or when it takes place in winter time, things can fall from the sky and can kill people. In source #2, it states in 2012, there was a wedge of ice that fell and went down to a slope in chunks and the falling ice killed twenty-five men and their bodies were never found. The people who do mountaineering should have more advanced materials for their safety and not put their life at risk. It’s not just deaths, but serious injuries have occurred because of dangerous sports like this.

In source #2, in Australia, tourists were not allowed to climb the mountains because it was forbidden so people were safe. People that are responsible for mountaineering think that it’s not a big deal if someone dies, but I think it is a big deal. Multiple deaths shouldn’t happen because it’s materials that need to step in and try helping people who are climbing high mountains to prevent these type of situations. The government should be more concerned with sports that involve deaths and be more
"These climbers risk life and limb to thin air, frostbite, bone-chilling cold, hypothermia, avalanche and high wind to reach some of the world's highest summits like the 14 mountains in Asia that rise above 8,000 meters."(❡4) These mountain climbers risk their lives for the view and beauty of the world. The evidence also shows that if anyone takes a risk, that person can have great achievements. If mountain climbers don't possess this trait then they aren't cut out for being a mountain climber. Mountain climbing is all about the risks for a great
One very off-putting factor for climbing Mount Everest is the climb itself. This is because of all of the risks taken when doing so. All of the risks are very extreme and most can actually lead to death as many that have attempted making the treacherous journey up the mountain have not made it back down safely. This factor can become stuck in many people’s heads and change their minds about making the journey up this beautiful mountain completely. Although several see the travel up the mountain as dangerous and unpleasant, many also see it as the best part of the whole trip. This makes perfect sense seeing as during this climb you can experience some of the most beautiful scenery anyone would ever have the chance to see in their entire lives. The climb has been said to be beautiful and well worth all of the hardship of injury and pain. Overall the climb up the mountain can be seen as the whole reason not to climb Mount Everest or the very reason to do so, but either way the sights you can see are magnificent, or are they?
This is corresponding to today’s community because if the climbers are unskilled and they are not sure about safety, then they must not go mountain climbing, if they die their family and friends will be sad also the rescuer may die too. There have been over 230 deaths on the mountain. It’s very dangerous! what if the accident happen? People never know what will happen in the future. Think before you do something! Undoubtedly, people do not have the right to rescue services when they put themselves at
This topic is relevant in today’s society because the price for climbers having fun might be for those climbers and rescuers losing their lives. If there is an accident or someone gets hurt because of a crime, society should give rescue services. But if someone is doing something that is obviously dangerous and they don’t have the proper training, it is not up to society to help them. So the next time someone is trying to climb Mt. Everest, they should look out for the green
Mt. Everest’s summit has always seemed an unattainable goal for most people. The idea that most people have is that if I can climb Mt Everest, I can accomplish anything. To have the money and desire to try to attempt it is one thing, but being able to endure the punishment is quite another. Beck Weathers, one of the climbers on this particular expedition, had such severe frostbite that he had to have his right arm, nose and the fingers on his left hand amputated. Everyone on the expedition suffered the rigors of Everest. The two expert guides, Rob Hall and Scott Fischer, lost their lives due to a violent storm that ripped through during their descent from the summit. Their impaired judgment also contributed to their demise. Everest is no respecter of persons. Mt Everest is the most respected mountain in the whole world and if
When people often take on the challenge of climbing Mt. Everest, they are aware of the risks that comes with it. One of the biggest controversal disasters that occured on Everest is the 1996 Mt. Everest disaster. A group of many, includng the author of Into Thin Air, Jon Krakauer, were all caught in a storm when almost nearing the summit whivh concluded to 8 deaths and a story others could never tell. In the sstory, it shows a large point of veiw of what happened through the trip, and a majority of people had to find who to to blane for what had happwned. Aftter readind and understanding, i choose to believe that Jon Krakauer and the Nepal government are responsible for the deaths that occured during the disaster on 1996 Besides the weather, the suffering still did occur, which showed the true colors of the poeple. Krakauer and Nepal pressured a choice of good and evil during this trip with caused the deaths to make the others partially at fault.
How is it significant that more guides perished on Mount Everest during the journey than clients?
After understanding and analyzing the tragedy of Everest, that took eight lives, we can conclude that the incident may occur due to several causes by nature or human error. The major factor that lead to this tragedy is the lack of team work and communication. Even though they were all in the same expedition, eager to reach the summit. While knowledge on humans behaving in extreme situations is limited, most of us believe we would not let someone die in the
Lens: Climbing Enthusiasts In this essay there will be talks from climbing enthusiasts about how people should be able to climb Mount Everest on their own will. There are many reasons for people to climb Mount Everest. Including for the adventure and the sense of achievement. But there are many people that don’t think climbing enthusiasts should climb Mount Everest because of medical reasons.
Paige Toler Ms. Francis Writing February 19, 2018 Mountain Rescuers Do you believe people have the right to be part of rescue services when they put themselves in danger. No, people should not put themselves at risk. Robert Siegel agrees because of all the dangers. Many rangers have died while saving people. Most of the rangers was not skilled, fell, and died. Robert Siegel says that helicopter rescues are increasing in the mountains of Nepal. There are many risks for the climbers and the pilots that rescue them. There is many dangers. They cannot help people going up the mountain unskilled. The security is very expensive and many people that rescue do not survive, according to Helicopter Rescue Increasing on Everest. The text states, “Something that is part of the issue is that the rescue
Did you know that more people die than succeed while attempting to climb Mt. Everest? There are many people who are opposed to having people climb the mountain and who are trying to close the mountain to climbers. However, people should be able to climb Everest. If it were to be closed there would be great consequences. First, it would severely affect all of the towns surrounding Everest by taking those jobs away from the Sherpa’s who help the climbers carry their stuff. Second, those who attempt and succeed in getting to the top of Everest feel accomplished and feel good about what they accomplished. Without being able to climb the mountain, there would be a huge amount of people disappointed that they would never be able to achieve that
Since 1922, more than two hundred seventy- five people have died attempting trying to get to the peak of Mount Everest and, interestingly enough, a record twenty-two people died in 2015 according to the website, The Daily Mail. 2015 was also a year that no one had made it to the summit which has not happened since 1975. According to BBC news more people have been dieing close to the summit. The past few years it sims that mount Everest has been more treacherous to climb.More climbers are dieing than making it to the summit this past few years. Mount climbers have been climbing mountains since the beginning of time, but, unfortunately, there have been many tragic accidents in the past few years because many people have unrealistic expectations about how difficult and dangerous mountain climbing truly is .
The particular descent ahead of those on the ''hill'' on May 10, 1996, resulted in the greatest loss of life in the history of mountaineering on Everest. As news spread of the nine deaths (including that of Hall, who spoke to his wife in New Zealand by radiophone as he lay stranded in a snowstorm on the summit ridge), a barrage of questions resounded: What went wrong? Why was the approaching storm ignored? And, most emphatically, why are ''tourists'' with more money than expertise being taken up Everest in the first place?
Everest and has supposedly “risked his company’s reputation.” Two years after, 16 out of the 25 Nepalese guides were killed from the exact wedge of ice which led to the question if mountaineering should be banned (Source two). There were many ways that this incident could’ve been avoided. If Brice and his group escaped out safely, then why didn’t they tell anyone about the enormous wedge of ice that averted them from going any further? If there was a flag that said “HAZARD ABOVE,”then it would have been evaded easily. In my opinion, I believe that in this situation, Brice should be the one to be
Have you ever asked yourself if climbing Mount Everest is bad idea I ask myself that question and I think that it is a bad climbing Mount Everest for: the climber , local population , and the environment. One example of why climbing Mount Everest is because for the climber they can get hurt and that is bad because they can get hurt like they can fall. A example for the local population is because they throw a lot of garbage and that can hurt the local population and how it can also hurt the people that is alos a example for the enviroment because that means that it csn hurt he enviroment
