Have you ever asked yourself if climbing Mount Everest is bad idea I ask myself that question and I think that it is a bad climbing Mount Everest for: the climber , local population , and the environment. One example of why climbing Mount Everest is because for the climber they can get hurt and that is bad because they can get hurt like they can fall. A example for the local population is because they throw a lot of garbage and that can hurt the local population and how it can also hurt the people that is alos a example for the enviroment because that means that it csn hurt he enviroment
Climbing Mount Everest is a bad idea because the climbers can fall or get sick from the different altitudes that there might be everywhere in
"These climbers risk life and limb to thin air, frostbite, bone-chilling cold, hypothermia, avalanche and high wind to reach some of the world's highest summits like the 14 mountains in Asia that rise above 8,000 meters."(❡4) These mountain climbers risk their lives for the view and beauty of the world. The evidence also shows that if anyone takes a risk, that person can have great achievements. If mountain climbers don't possess this trait then they aren't cut out for being a mountain climber. Mountain climbing is all about the risks for a great
Imagine yourself climbing Everest, the cold air in your lungs and your adrenaline rushing, because of the risk they’re taking. That feeling is what mountaineers crave. On April 18, 2014, an avalanche caused one of the greatest loss of life in the history of the fabled peek. Now the tragedy has sparked a debate on whether climbing Mt. Everest should continue to be permitted. In my opinion, regardless of the risk, I think people should still be able to climb Mt. Everest.
Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world and commonly considered the most dangerous to climb. So, is climbing this magnificent mountain worth it? What are some of the risks taken if someone were willing to climb the mountain and why would anyone want to do so? Last but not least, what are some of the pros and cons of scaling this large mountain that only a few can say they accomplished in their lives? Well in many people’s minds these thoughts soar, and today all of these questions might finally have an answer.
In order to continue climbing Everest, many aspects of climbing need to be improved before more people endanger their lives to try and reach the roof of the world. The guides have some areas that need the most reform. During the ascension of Everest the guides made a plethora mistakes that seemed insignificant but only aided in disaster. The guides first mistake is allowing “any bloody idiot [with enough determination] up” Everest (Krakauer 153). By allowing “any bloody idiot” with no climbing experience to try and climb the most challenging mountain in the world, the guides are almost inviting trouble. Having inexperienced climbers decreases the trust a climbing team has in one another, causing an individual approach to climbing the mountain and more reliance on the guides. While this approach appears fine, this fault is seen in addition to another in Scott Fischer’s expedition Mountain Madness. Due to the carefree manner in which the expedition was run, “clients [moved] up and down the mountain independently during the acclimation period, [Fischer] had to make a number of hurried, unplanned excursions between Base Camp and the upper camps when several clients experienced problems and needed to be escorted down,” (154). Two problems present in the Mountain Madness expedition were seen before the summit push: the allowance of inexperienced climbers and an unplanned climbing regime. A third problem that aided disaster was the difference in opinion in regards to the responsibilities of a guide on Everest. One guide “went down alone many hours ahead of the clients” and went “without supplemental oxygen” (318). These three major issues: allowing anyone up the mountain, not having a plan to climb Everest and differences in opinion. All contributed to the disaster on Everest in
Mt. Everest’s summit has always seemed an unattainable goal for most people. The idea that most people have is that if I can climb Mt Everest, I can accomplish anything. To have the money and desire to try to attempt it is one thing, but being able to endure the punishment is quite another. Beck Weathers, one of the climbers on this particular expedition, had such severe frostbite that he had to have his right arm, nose and the fingers on his left hand amputated. Everyone on the expedition suffered the rigors of Everest. The two expert guides, Rob Hall and Scott Fischer, lost their lives due to a violent storm that ripped through during their descent from the summit. Their impaired judgment also contributed to their demise. Everest is no respecter of persons. Mt Everest is the most respected mountain in the whole world and if
Next, a con about climbing Mount Everest is that you will get very tired. You can maybe even die because of lack of energy, food, and oxygen. The next con is that there are
Why is Mount Everest so dangerous? The people who want to climb Mount Everest are aware of the risk… But actually, the risk is part of the attraction for some people. Not everyone can manage the treacherous climb. In fact, some people pay with their lives for climbing Mount Everest. Everest is 29,035 feet from its base to its peak. The people who climb Everest are very skilled. People do not have the right to rescue services when they put themselves at risk because, they are making a life threatening risk to themselves and they are also making a risk to the people who are trying to save them.
Did you know that more people die than succeed while attempting to climb Mt. Everest? There are many people who are opposed to having people climb the mountain and who are trying to close the mountain to climbers. However, people should be able to climb Everest. If it were to be closed there would be great consequences. First, it would severely affect all of the towns surrounding Everest by taking those jobs away from the Sherpa’s who help the climbers carry their stuff. Second, those who attempt and succeed in getting to the top of Everest feel accomplished and feel good about what they accomplished. Without being able to climb the mountain, there would be a huge amount of people disappointed that they would never be able to achieve that
Since 1922, more than two hundred seventy- five people have died attempting trying to get to the peak of Mount Everest and, interestingly enough, a record twenty-two people died in 2015 according to the website, The Daily Mail. 2015 was also a year that no one had made it to the summit which has not happened since 1975. According to BBC news more people have been dieing close to the summit. The past few years it sims that mount Everest has been more treacherous to climb.More climbers are dieing than making it to the summit this past few years. Mount climbers have been climbing mountains since the beginning of time, but, unfortunately, there have been many tragic accidents in the past few years because many people have unrealistic expectations about how difficult and dangerous mountain climbing truly is .
In the first place, I do not think that climbing Mt. Everest is a good idea since there have been a lot of climbers who die there. It sounds like going to the hell because you want to see what it is like. If I were on the mountain and my friend is in danger, I think I would try to save him but only when I am sure that I can survive. I
Climbing to the summit of Mount Everest is considered an amazing accomplishment in today’s world. But when people climb up and down the mountain, they leave behind piles of trash and human waste. People like Sir Edmund Hillary and several organizations like Eco Everest are concerned about the negative impacts climbers have on the mountain.
Everest gave me a lot of information of different things happening on Mt. Everest. There are a lot of storms on the mountain, and the mountain makes it’s own weather. Climbing Mt. Everest I would never know when a storm would hit. I would just have to make a guess by what the weather looks like at the time. I would need lots of oxygen. Oxygen is one of the most important tools to have on the climb of Mt. Everest. Especially when you get to the death zone, because my body would be dying at that point of the mountain, and I would die if I didn't have any oxygen. The movie also showed me no matter how much of an experienced climber I could be, you can always get lost easily. The same goes with death. I could be the world's best mountain climber, but when it comes to Mt. Everest I could die any moment on that mountain if I’m not careful. Death is an important issue if I am climbing Mt. Everest. Lots of people die climbing the mountain. It would be hard to climb the mountain with my family. It would be a very traumatic vacation to do with my family. If I was to climb Mt. Everest it would have to be with people that are not in my family circle. It would be very sad to see my family suffer through all the hard and painful things to experience to get to the top of the mountain. Getting to the top is harder than it looks. I watched the movie Mt. Everest, and people lost their hands, nose, and even their lives. It would take a lot of heart and dedication to
The issue of Mt.Everest and whether it should be open to the public or not is an issue that has recently risen as many mountaineers do not like the idea of it as it is an exhilarating thing to do that gives them a sense of achievement and although there are many risks and challenges people enjoy the activity and believe that it should stay open to the public. Mountaineering as of recent years has gotten much safer as they now use steroids and bottled oxygen because of the high altitude. It is becoming safer may not necessarily be a good thing as it is also very expensive, as in the second source they state that “Each and every one of them had paid $10,000 for a climbing permit” and even after having to pay a large amount of money for simply a climbing permit they run a great risk of death.
Now to conclude my point on why people shouldn't be rescued on Everest the three reasons could harm the climbers people could die it's very dangerous and it's very hard to rescue the people in trouble. To sum it up I believe that people shouldn't be rescued on Everest even though they know the risks and
Mount Everest is the biggest mountain in the world, and because of that attracts many climbers to try and climb all 29,029 feet of it, but think about all the trash they leave behind while climbing. In 2013 4,000 people have reached Everest’s summit, with many more attempting to. Mount Everest has a natural beauty, one that should be preserved, and people climbing the mountain and leaving their garbage on it is ruining it. Climbers have a negative impact on Mount Everest, and while journeying to the top, they are slowly destroying the mountain.
