Some of the symptom of PSTD that he shows are as discussed in the following incidents captured in the film. For instance, when Cahill returns home, he shows a sense of fear and abnormality when Grace walks in the bathroom when he locked the door but the lock was broken (Butcher et al., 2014). Even after his wife kisses him inside the bathroom after the return, Sam seems less concerned and detached from what she is doing. Cahill also seems to be avoiding people and wants to stay in his compound after coming back from the war. Even after his own father asks him to go to the mechanic while trying to fix his car he looks around and doesn’t want to leave his compound. Also, when Cahill is in the kitchen late at night because he can’t sleep, immediately pulls his gun out when he hears a dog barking in the back yard, he patrols with the gun in the back yard at night. Another incidence that clearly shows a symptom of PSTD in Cahill is the way he approached the marine superior and asked to be deployed back in Afghanistan with his men. (Butcher et al., 2014). Cahill exhibits symptoms of aggressive anger and portrays distorted views of himself when Cahill destroys the remodeled kitchen yelling at grace. Later, when Sam is haunted from intrusive memories every time Grace asks him what happened in Afghanistan.

Allen was once a pimp turned detective after being rushed to the hospital from poison ivy in his butt. Terry shot Derek Jeter during the Major League Baseball Playoffs. Even though Allen and Terry have been plagued by bad luck, they hope that making the arrest of all time would turn their life around.
Joseph J Ellis included “The Duel” in his book, Founding Brothers to show the extreme complexity behind the relationship between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr. This duel is normally represented in a short few lines that includes the date, the location, the outcome, and little details about the fashion in which they dueled. Although these representations are short and concise, they do not give the duel the justice it deserves. Ellis’ model does so by adding a lot more detail to help the audience understand it was more than a short and random interaction. Ellis explains how in order to understand the duel, one must examine the many and intricate causes of it, rather than what actually happened in those few seconds on top of the cliff in Weehawken, New Jersey. Ellis’ record of the most famous duel in American History can be used as a historical reference for the songs “Your Obedient Servant” and “The World Was Wide Enough” that are a part of the Hamilton soundtrack. One thing that was made sure after reading this book and listening to this song is that Lin Manuel Miranda did his research and made the songs in his soundtrack as historically accurate as possible.
Founding Brothers The Revolutionary Generation , written and narrated by Joseph J. Ellis, is separated into six chapters and a preface. The six chapters are crucial events in American history, mostly the time surrounding the 1787 Constitutional Convention, which are described using many techniques, such as, quotes and dates. While each section contains one point, as a whole they can be understood to work together. The main purpose of Ellis’ writing was to inform readers of the early stages of government and how it was discussed. Founding Brothers focuses on ideals of the early revolutionary generation leaders and how conflicting their political views were. Ellis describes the personalities of Hamilton, Burr, Adams, Washington, Madison, and Jefferson with great awareness and detail. The results of these influential individuals have molded our country, and their acts of integrity will live on past America’s existence.
Patrick deWitt’s novel, The Sisters Brothers, tells the tale of two brothers, Eli and Charlie, who make a living together as professional assassins. Right from the start, it is evident to the reader that Eli does not share his brother’s appetite for killing. Despite this, Eli has never known anything else. As the novel progresses, Eli becomes familiar with his sensitive side. He starts watching his weight, searching for love, and brushing his teeth. Finally, Eli solidifies his separation from murder, when he is searching for gold with Herman Kermit Warm. This is the first time he has been exposed to something created and acquired solely by the

"Brothers in Exile" tells the incredible story of Livan and Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez, who risked their lives to escape Cuba. Livan left first--banking on his status as the hottest young prospect in Cuba he defected via Mexico and signed with the Florida Marlins, for whom he became one of the youngest World Series MVPs in history in 1997. Staying behind was Orlando, who was banned from professional baseball in Cuba for life because he was suspected of having helped Livan escape. Then, on Christmas 1997, an increasingly frustrated and harassed Orlando left Cuba in a small boat. He was stranded on a deserted island for days before being picked up by the U.S. Coast Guard. Band of Brothers is a non-fiction historical account of the U.S. Army’s Easy Company during World War II. Historian Stephen E. Ambrose explores the deep psychological bond that formed between the men as they went from basic training to their inevitable meeting with history at the Normandy D-Day invasion. Band of Brothers is unique among military histories in that it focuses not on the men behind the scenes making the plans, but on the front line soldiers, from the privates to the non-commissioned officers, carrying out the grand strategies of the generals.
In today’s society, women have an equal amount of rights compared to men. Women can work wherever they chose, vote for whomever they may choose, and pick a lifestyle of their own desire. This type of society has never been forever, meaning men were inferior to women at one point in time. The novel of The Sisters Brothers portrays this type of society, and we see many examples that the novel is presented in this type of society. The Sisters Brothers is a western-inspired story of 2 brothers and depicts many scenes where women are focused upon, and show many qualities and roles they play in their current society. Whereas one woman may play the role of a prostitute, others may obtain the role of a servant, shopkeeper or family caregiver. Within each role women play, many challenges appear, and different circumstances create different outcomes. Many of the women in the western community may have not had a choice in their current profession, meaning many of the prostitutes were forced upon this job, and the servants as well potentially did not have much of a choosing for their work style. This novel portrays men to be inferior to women, and women were not seen on the streets, but the background only. As the men would travel, and collect the money for survival, it would be the women who stay at home, or the women keeping the men content with their travels.

Throughout the movie, the siblings may have each other to lean on, but they also had certain foods, clothing, and thoughts of their homeland. An example would be when the sister had the necklace of the mother, and how she describe how her mother will always wear the necklace all the time. The siblings had the sight of the necklace to remind them of their mother and their homeland.
