Maybe you have never left your province before, or maybe you are an expert at moving to another country, but whatever the circumstances are, moving is always a big deal. Moving or visiting another country takes you out of your comfort zone, hence, being uncomfortable the first few days or weeks is totally normal. Although no two people will handle moving around in exactly the same way, as I began reading Tilley’s article on, “Provincially Speaking-You don’t sound like a Newfoundlander” I saw how my experiences matched hers. In the first place, Tilley explained her awareness to stereotype behaviors. She mentioned that she was fortunate because she was given the opportunity of gaining a formal education. The same way, I believe that I was privileged
The most memorable event in my life was when we moved out from Russia to a country that changes lives and is known as a dream land called the United States of America. When we sat on the airplane that was going toward the United States in August of 2004, we knew our lives are going to be changed in the way we always wanted them to. After twelve years of not going to school and being discriminated by Russian citizens, this moving to a new country was the most amazing, not just in my life generally, but for my entire family as well.

religious persecution. America was a great place to travel to, because of its freedom of religion bill, which was passed in 1786. This bill allowed anyone to have the religion they desired, and also granted
It was a beautiful, sunny day in South Florida. I was six years old, playing by the pool with my new puppy. I loved swimming in the pool almost every day after school. I also enjoyed going out on our boat after school or crossing the street and going to the beach. My father came home one evening with some interesting news. Now, I do not remember exactly how I felt about the news at that time, but it seemed like I did not mind that much. He had announced that we were going to move back to my birth country, Belgium. I had been living in Florida for five years and it was basically all I had known so I did not know what to expect. I had to live with my mom at first, and then my sister would join us after she graduated high school and my father
I come from a country, Afghanistan, where 99 percent of the nation is Muslim and the majority of the people are illiterate. I am Muslim and grow up in an Islamic country. When I was in Afghanistan, I had no knowledge about other religions. Since I moved to America, I am thrilled that I started my school and got so much knowledge about others religions and cultures. In addition to that, our country’s government is very weak and people are suffering a lot in terms of all lives aspect. I always wanted to study something so that I can at least bring a positive change into people’s lives. I am very delighted that from such a poor country I came, study in America.
In journey of this life we are exploring many events and experiences which are most important to us. This experiences we gain it could be lesson for some of us, it could be mistake we made or it could be most memorable experience ever gained. Here are some of the experience that I gained in my life winning geography award, transition from middle school to high school and moving to Canada.
First of all this wall will ensure the people their privacy and security from all the drugs, gangs, and violence immigrants have brought upon them. Luckily for them, they would be protected from all the rough events that happen in this world in which they can live a happy and stress free life. Secondly since no one is allowed in or out we would have to manufacture our own goods which will make our economy more stable. Making our own goods would be easy since we have all the supplies we need and if we can't fix it we can just replace it with something else. Thirdly, we are not cruel or harsh we have thought of the people who will miss their families or friends that live outside the U.S but that could be easily be arranged. It has been confirmed
New country means new opportunities. That’s especially true in my case since I am an immigrant. As I sat in the school office at my elementary school, I gawked at the huge school ground and wondered what the kids are saying. Being an immigrant, I did not understand anything they were saying as I listened to the them. This put me at a disadvantage because I was forced to repeat first grade. I admit learning a new language is hard work, that is why I made it my mission to know the ins and out of English. Everyday in school, I would really try to pay attention to what the teacher was saying and comparing it to the objects she had in her hands. Soon enough I was able to utter simple sentences and recite the numbers 1-100. Until today, I
Moving to another country or even visiting a place from a different culture is full of challenges. If when I moved from Brazil to United States I had to get used to the different wheatear, language, food I had to learn driving and observing about the differences on the way that Americans drive.
Moving to a new country is not an easy deal. There are many situations to think about such as how one is supposed to communicate with their neighbors and coworkers or how they’ll be able to transport themselves to and from a completely unknown area. An important issue that many individuals may deal with is the struggle of fitting in. Whether it’s to a new school, neighborhood or job, everybody wants to fit in. This eliminates the difficulty to create new friendships or be looked upon as an outlier. However, up to what extent should a person alter their personality or appearance to appear pleasing to their peers? Let’s get back to the event of moving into a new country. The culture is completely different and the personality of those residing
Have you ever asked this question to yourself; why I am migrating? Am I emotionally and mentally ready to migrate? Embarking a journey to the unknown place is not an easy thing. You have to brace your emotion and mental state for what you will encounter on the place you will get to work, especially in a country that is far different from your culture, tradition and way of living: clothes to wear, food to eat, music to listen, and a place to dwell. It might be a big culture shock for you at first, but surely, slowly, you will be able to embrace this change and it will be part
When we leave our country to seek different horizons, either by a job relocation, a wish to transform our lifestyle, the search for a softer climate or the opportunity to study abroad, it is inevitable the nostalgia invading us.
Living far from home, even for a short period of time, can be really hard at the beginning. We have to remember that all changes are difficult, but they are
First of, moving to a foreign country might sound like a big adventure or a great start. One of the things that may happen when going to a new place (even on vacation) is finding yourself comparing everything to how it is back home. Comparing food, quality of life, weather, people’s habits, beliefs, and everything between. Subsequently, moving to a foreign country may not be as easy for some people, and it could be as normal for others. For me it wasn’t easy, at the age of 5 I was moving from El Salvador to the United states. With my dad being a diplomat we have to move a lot. The U.S. has a completely different culture, language, climate, overall a completely diverse lifestyle and environment. I felt like a complete stranger. In particular, language barrier was one of the hardest part in this case. Having to watch my mom struggle to communicate with people when she needed help or anything, was hard because not everyone was nice enough to try and understand her. My mom, my siblings, and I were at the mall when my
Moving to a different country has to be one of the most difficult things a person has to go through. Moving to a different country means a whole new environment from the people, systems, and surroundings. I had to move when I was twelve years old to the United States from Saudi Arabia on July 10th, 2012.
