On Saturday, March 13, 2004, at exactly 10:00 PM, a baby was born named Katie. I am Katie. I have a brother and a sister and I am the youngest child. I live in Riverside and I play soccer in Corona.
One of my deep passions is soccer. I love soccer. I have practice every Tuesday and Thursday, and games almost every weekend. I started playing soccer when I was about 5 years old and I played for AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) and my first team was the Tiger Lilies. I now play for Blues Youth Soccer Club (BYSC) in Corona. I have been on this team for almost a year. This is the second club team I’ve played for. I played on Milan SC from when I was about 8 or 9 years old to 12 years old. I have been number 15 since I first started playing for Milan. 15 is my favorite number, I don’t know why though, it just is.

I just hate to sing in front of a few people or an audience. I love music and I always listen to it when I am in my room or in the car. I have always liked music. Ever since I was little I loved to sing and I even had a favorite song when I was just 4 years old. I like to listen to Selena Gomez, One Direction, Taylor Swift, and Justin Bieber. I loved Justin Bieber when I was in 3rd and 4th grade, he was all I ever talked about. In fact, if I ever got in trouble, my parents would take away my posters and books about him. I hear all kinds of music when I’m with my family, rap, Christian, 50’s, late
Growing up in a house with all boys in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, I was taught to be tough and injuries were very common but easily shaken off. When it came to sports, I would put all my time and effort into one thing: soccer. Soccer was always a true passion of mine; as a matter of fact, it was more of a lifestyle than just a sport. I would spend weekends traveling around my local area playing the game I loved with people I enjoyed being with. My teammates became like my second family after countless seasons and we did almost everything together off the soccer field. The idea of putting on my jersey and lacing up my cleats was a moment I would not trade for the world and something I would never take for granted.
As a young girl, I was introduced to soccer by my father. I think I was about eight at the time when I first played on a recreational team, and I remember that I had always wanted to play goalkeeper. In soccer, the goalkeeper is the last defensive player, but is also the first offensive player once the play turns. The idea of playing such an important position thrilled me, and it didn’t hurt that the goalkeeper gets the opportunity to use their hands as well as punt the ball across the field. From the age of nine until the age of eleven, I played competitive and recreational soccer as a goalkeeper, and stopped in the sixth grade. I picked the sport back up as a freshman in high school, after my younger sister had urged me to join the school
I used to believe that soccer was, well, just soccer. I'd play for my rec team, in which would consist of one practice and one game a week. Nothing special, and not too stressful. After I got tired of rec soccer, I joined a travel team. To be specific it was the Mahwah Raiders. It was a step up from rec, I now had two practices and one game a week. This wasn't too crazy for me- I was fine with the timing and schedule of everything.
At the age of five I had fallen in love with the game of soccer, but my condition would make it more
When I was three years old, I began playing a sport that would change my life forever. Throughout my life I have tried just about every sport available to me. The one that stuck with me and that I continued to play every year was soccer. It was the love of my life. I loved everything about it from the sweet smell of the fresh cut grass to the most exhilarating feeling of scoring a goal.
As a child, I grew up playing travel soccer, and it was what my life revolved around. My weekdays were filled with practices, my weekends filled with tournaments. Soccer was all I knew and all I wanted to do. I had dreams of making my high school varsity team, and even one day playing when I got to college. This all changed during one weekend tournament. My team and I were in the first half of the first game that weekend when I was injured and carried off the field. From that point, I never stepped foot into a soccer game again.
I grew up with a love towards sports. Sure I started off in ballet and gymnastics but one day my best friend told me I should play soccer with her. So of course I begged my mom to let me do another sport. Little did I know soccer would have such a big impact on my life. I started off with playing recreational league soccer. My first coach, was my softball coach, and he decided I would be a perfect forward. As the years went on and I got a different coach my position changed. I went from a forward to a midfielder then finally a defender.
I had always loved soccer and it had been my favorite sport since age four. When I turned eleven years old I joined a club named Indiana Elite which was very competitive and “hardcore” persay. We had practice three days a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I was very nervous to attend my first practice on my team
The Ohio travel cup our soccer team is 2-0 in it. We beat Lagrange 3-1 and Twinsburg 3-2. We were about to play the hardest game of our lives. Belpre from south east ohio they haven’t let up a goal yet and are 2-0 like us. All we needed was one win and we are in the finals. They had the best offence and defence and can pass around any team like there's no tomorrow. We walk up to the field feeling different. We knew we were going to need to adapt to their play style. The game started the players just out worked our team. They were faster and stronger. They go around us like we were a leaf against the wind we had no chance. They scored again and again. It was now 4-0, 1 min left in the first half we couldn’t do anything against this first-class
When I was fourteen years old I had a national soccer tournament in Sanford, Florida. My club team was faced against the number one team in the nation, the Michigan Hawks. The Hawks had multiple national team players and multiple girls that were already committed to large Division I colleges before their freshmen year of high school. This alone scared the life right out of my entire team, but we came together and knew that we could preserver and get through it.
Soccer has been my passion ever since I was a young child and my love for the game is always growing. I have gained a lot of experience and knowledge of the game by playing with various teams, but I know there is always more to learn. Watching how hard people, such as the pros, work for what they have reached inspires me, which is why I always try my best in practice and try to improve everyday. I try to be the most hardworking player in practice and in the games, but as captain of both my club and high school team, I try to encourage all of my teammates as well. Living in a small community, far from bigger oportunities, I feel like I haven't been able to fully show more people what I'm truly capable of. I believe that because of my determination,
Soccer is my thing. Soccer is something I live, I breathe, I analyze, I bleed, I practice, and I play. The sport has been a vital part of my life ever since I started to play the game as a kindergartener. Working as a club soccer referee is also my job, and incorporating the sport I practically worship into my work is something that I will never regret because the experiences I have gained as a result have taught me various lessons over the years.
The freshman A soccer team at Neuqua, a team full of passion for soccer. We came up strong in the beginning of the season with a record of seven wins and zero losses. That was until we played Benet, the bus ride there was lively, we were all excited for the big game. When we got there we saw the team, they made us nervous because many of them play for academy teams outside of school and they also looked bigger than us, we could tell they weren't going to be an easy opponent. We all played sloppy, sloppy passing, sloppy control, everything was sloppy. We ended up losing that game four to one, we barely made it out alive. The bus ride home was quiet no one said a word. In two days we would have to go up against Waubonsie, and no one was excited.
When looking back at the game’s conditions, it was just an unusually hot, sunny October morning, but during the game, it felt like the heat had taken away all of my energy. This soccer game was an important one for my soccer team as we played one of the toughest teams in our competitive league, although no one on our team knew that before the game. This was because of the first time we played them it was the easiest game we had so far in the league so far because of superior skills and tactics. So, our team walked so confidently around the field that it looked like we had already won the game before it even started. Even though we knew that they had more bigger, athletic players on their team and weather conditions were hotter than the first
I was just 10 years old a kid came up to me and started talking trash. I could tell he wanted to do something. So I was ready whenever he was ready. He threw the first punch and nothing had happened to me. I didn’t feel anything. Now it was my turn to show him what I could do.
