Throughout the past few nights and mornings, I made an extra effort to remember and record my dreams from the previous evening. After re-reading the notes taken on my dreams I have come to the conclusion that my dreams are peculiar, hopefully I can make sense of them after looking at the different theories of why we dream. My first dream started off with myself visiting my high school, James River High School; except when I took the first few steps in, everything looked distinctly contemporary. After being built in the 90s, the first word one would use to describe James River is definitely not “modern”; however, as I continued to explore, the layout had completely transformed. There was a catwalk that circled the perimeter of the gym and into teacher’s offices and all the walls that were made of cinderblock had transformed into glass. Yet, somehow I already knew exactly where to go. I was walking along the catwalk overlooking the gym as I observed the cheerleaders and the lacrosse team practicing. Once I looked closely at who was on the teams, I noticed that people in my graduating class were still in high school; this confused me because I assumed we moved on to bigger and better things in college, but it seemed I was the only one that did. During my walk around the gym to the glass offices I heard explicit music playing, something out of the ordinary for my usually strict school. Then I started to dance along the catwalk, luckily there was a railing to prevent me from
Mark Strand once said,” Old ways won’t open new doors.” Strand meant that doing things the old way or having old things doesn’t give an opportunity for new beginnings and better things or ideas. The article titled “School Choice: Build New or Not?”, talks about unsafe and unhealthy environments that could impact the students and budgets. It is important to rebuild Lincoln Junior High School, built in 1923, in Plymouth, Indiana because it will give students more learning opportunities and fix some health/safety issues. Others believe that it is a better idea to renovate the school.
When looking into the meanings of dreams, a variation of things can be found. Most people believe that dreams are a reflection of people’s inner thoughts and feelings. Most of these feelings are too private to be expressed in the real world and that is why they are expressed in a fantasy type way through dreams.
Dreaming, although a substantial component of our nighttime lives, remains somewhat of an enigma due to the fact that it occurs while we are unconscious. The inaccessibility of the unconscious mind weakens full analysis and comprehension of dreaming which researchers have been attempting to accomplish. However, over the years many researchers have elucidated many mysteries about dreams, such as when we dream, why we dream, and what we dream about, in order to bring forth an understanding of dreams as well as identify
I remember having dreams and when I have had them they were very interesting, and I wander why. 1 Reading the text book, it says most people dream four to five times a night, but not all people remember their dreams upon awakening in the morning. Non-dreamers are often surprised by their dreams when they first awake. (Dennis Coon, 2016). 1 How meaningful are dreams? Some theorist believe that dreams have deeply hidden meanings. Others regard dreams as nearly meaningless. 2 Yet others hold that dreams reflect our waking thoughts, fantasies and emotions(hartmann,2011). I also looked up on the Dream Bible which I never knew that these sites exist, so it was very interesting reading the different sites. 3 The dream Bible says
School is the place where students go to receive education. Currently, I am a junior at Diamond Bar High School. Although some might think that DBHS is a school without flaws, there are issues with the teachers here. As illustrated through their lack of coordination with each other, lack of familiarizing student with the AP tests, and lack if personal connection with the students. There are certainly changes that need to be made. It is vital that the flaws of DBHS be corrected.
To many people, dreams are the thoughts that occur while sleeping, having almost mystic qualities. For millennia the significance of dreams has escaped even the brightest of philosophers and intellectuals. Many people have speculated about why people dream and what meanings the dreams have but in recent times two theories have gained credibility in answering those questions. The first theory is Sigmund Freuds and the other is known as the cognitive theory of dreams also known as biological determinism.
The past two years I have been getting the education at, RHAM Middle School (RMS) and I do have to say that things have changed so much. My seventh grade year I was so terrified because I thought I would get lost and I thought the eighth graders would beat me up or something. But, then going into eighth grade year I was really excited because now my class and I were the rulers of the middle school and it just felt good because I was scared about being bullied or getting lost and not knowing where I’m going. Overall my two years at RHAM Middle School have been really good and I have enjoyed it. There is a lot of homework throughout the year and I’m not gonna complain about the homework because homework is what helps us make sure we understand what we are doing in class. It also helps us with teaching us how to be responsible and
While most people tend to overlook it; Smithville High School has an issue with drugs. The drugs are negatively affecting the students taking the drugs and the students surrounded by others doing drugs.
In this argumentative essay, it is going to discuss reasons why headphones should be allowed at Treasure Coast High School. I understand there are safety concerns, such as, not hearing people during an emergency. However, I feel like it should be changed as it is a stress reliever, can help cognitive thinking, and can help both the people who need quiet and those who cannot work in the quiet.
Hi! I am Grace Cappellini and I am 17 years olds. I attend Northview High School in Sylvania Ohio. It’s only about 5 minutes from the Ohio/Michigan border. I like to stay busy and be involved in a lot of different activities in and outside of school. In school I focus most of my energy and creativity towards student council and class government where as next year I plan to be student body president. I am also in leadership academy, world language club and spanish honors society. I am taking AP spanish 5 next year where I hope to be 1 step closer to being fluent in spanish. Along with that I am in science olympiad which allows me to compete against people from all over the country in different areas of science. Aside from things I am involved in
So it’s Monday again worst day of the week, and the first day of school thats when everything is horrible for me. When you walk through those doors to Dogwood high school ( which is literally hell on planet Earth ) all of your positive feelings or vibes just disappear. I hate that school so much not because of the work, or the homework, or the teachers, its the students that make me dislike school so much. People can be so mean and nobody even really knows me besides my best friend Blair Rhodes, pretty much my only friend to be exact.
Growing up everyone has experienced dreams, but in this exploratory essay I am going to break down dreams on many different levels to form a better understanding of why it is we have them. Throughout my years of dreaming I have always wondered why do I have dreams, why do I dream about certain people, and why do I have dreams some nights while other nights I don’t have any along with many other questions. How is it that our brains can make these very realistic depictions of our real life, and transfer them into a memory as we wake up? Another very peculiar aspect of dreaming is seeing people or places that do not look familiar to us at all. Throughout my research I have discovered the answers to these questions, and many other aspects of dreams. While I was searching for answers to my questions I found that there is a lot more to learn than I originally thought. I developed even more questions to feed my research along the way.
It was a nice bright morning as the sun was saying its goodbyes, fall was greeting us with gentle breezes, I was wearing a nice purple dress and my mom had braided my hair, I felt the fear running through me as I held my mom’s hand, she walked me through the doors and down the hall to my classrooms where I was greeted by my teacher with a smile as those few moments flew bye I was very distant very far I would occasionally pinched myself hoping this was all a dream my mom waved goodbye and left my classroom i quickly realized this wasn't a dream and I wouldn't be waking up anytime soon
The mystery of dreams have fascinated people for years. Do they have significant meaning? Do they predict the future? Is our subconscious mind trying to warn us about our waking state of mental health and awareness? There are an abundance of websites and books that help interpret significant bits and pieces of dreams that we remember. Using a few of these websites I’ll interpret a few of my own dreams and what significance they may have had at the time that they occurred and how each one can be used as a coach for future challenges.
My dreams after high school are to leave a positive and meaningful impact on the black community and people struggling of all races. I would be doing that by making music and books. I want to make legendary music that everyone can relate to. Also, I want my poetry to influence the lives of millions. My strengths are that I am a very good public speaker and I am very persuasive. Also, I have a extreme level of dedication. When I want to do something, I'll get it done no matter how long it takes. My weaknesses are sometimes I have struggle staying on topic and getting my point across. I often have a million things to say on one topic, so sometimes it's hard to stay on track. I know that Disney Dreamers would help me with those flaws because I
