My favorite book is the Holy Bible, I chose this book because is an inspiration for me, I like this book because it has proved an influence point in my life. I have learnt a lot from this great book. It remains one of the most precious treasures of mankind. It makes a very good reading. Every sentence of this book has a touch of sincerity. It is written in a simple but effective style. It is worth reading.
The Holy Bible has really taught me how to lead a life given to Jesus, and he has shown me through his word his compassion, his love, his mercy that are great every day, his patience and forgiveness that although we don't deserve them, he grant us.
The Holy Bible is not only a book replete with laws and commandments, but also includes

God has treated us with dignity by giving us free will, the power to make our own decisions. Neither he nor fate controls our life. The Bible supports that, Deuteronomy 30:19) “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before your life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.”
But nevertheless we humans take advantage of the free will, which God has given us, to be the evil as this specified. (Isaiah 30:1) "Woe to the rebellious children," declares the LORD, "Who execute a plan, but not Mine, And make an alliance, but not of My Spirit, In order to add sin to sin.
However, even God shows us his compassion and forgives us for all our sins, that is why he does not want any of us to be lose, that he loves us so much that he was able to send his only son to earth to come and save us as. He emphasize in the bible. (John 3:16) “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
When we understand that God has a plan for us, when we decide to give Him control of our lives, then it makes sense that he does not want anyone to perish, but that all to be saved. But I understand that, many will probably disagree on this statement and there will be people that won’t believe that God exists, that he is the real one and it won't change his heart, that perverse Heart, which does not let them
C.S. Lewis calls Christian belief a ‘shocking alternative’ to other views because humans have free will (Lewis 52). People might wonder why the ‘almighty’ Christian God unable to prevent humans from temptations. Free will is a gift to humans; God does not force people to do anything because He wants them to love Him ‘whole-heartedly’ (Matthew 22:37). This paper will explain why Lewis is right based on the possibilities to do evil and commit sin, and yet also be forgiven.
I read the book of James and was astounded at how much I learned in such a short period of time. James encourages us to rejoice in Christ and to persevere. The main themes prevalent in this book which are wisdom, faith, trials, speech and wealth, all pertain to us today and we can use the information this book gives us to benefit from it. The book’s structure, purpose, characteristics, and history really helped teach me how to deal with the trails and temptations we as Christians face from day to day.
God loved and care for His creation of humanity so much, that He sent Himself to earth in human form, Jesus Christ the messiah to save all people of all nations. God as Jesus develop human relationships with the people around Him, especially the twelve disciples who he sent out to proclaim the message of God’s kingdom. Jesus even spoke to the disciples about loving him more than they would ever love their wife or children before Him. God wanted to be your first love before anyone else in your life, he wanted a lasting deep relationship in your life, He wanted to actively involve with humanity. God loved humanity and wanted an eternal bond with His creation “that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall
All three religions contain sacred texts that all contain “laws” or teachings. The Hebrew Bible (known as the Old Testament to Christians) is the foundation of Judaism. The first five books are called the Torah. The Torah means “the law” and the religious law, Halakhah, is taught in a separate book. However, the Torah, contains the teachings god has provided about himself, his purposes, and how people should obey him in every aspect of their life. The Bible is the sacred text of Christianity. It consists of the Old and New Testament.
God loves us and He does not want anyone of us to perish but He wants us to have eternal life with Him and so He his Son to die for us and pay for our sins (John 3:16). In order to have eternal life, we have to accept Jesus in our life and believe
We, as human beings, have the tendency to be bad. We desire, lust, and crave. We are addicted to the bitter taste of sin. We are all part of Satan's games; we are hypnotised by all these earthly desires. We are not born evil, but we get caught up with the world.
It is one’s choice to apply this to their life and to decide whether if they are “good” or “evil.” “But the Hebrew word, the word timshel - ‘Thou mayest’ - that gives a choice… That says the way is open” (301). Any obstacle a human faces, they will always have a choice. As humans, it is a natural right to choose who and what we want to be. We have the control in our lives to decide and determine anything. We all have a choice. An individual’s destiny is chosen on his or her
When life hits us with problems and obstacles, we ask: “Why did this happen to me? What did I do to deserve this?” If we believe in God, we direct these questions to Him. In Classic Christianity, Bob George shows an example of this when he talks about a man preparing himself for a wildness trip. Each day he pushed himself harder to get ready. He wondered what his body would say about his preparations. “Why are you doing this to me?” “What have I done to deserve this?” Were the two thoughts that came to his mind. We do the same thing with God. We wonder why the Lord is punishing us. The Lord doesn’t punish us; He loves us unconditionally. The Lord is preparing us to face even greater challenges in life with perseverance and faith.
Throughout a long semester of reading, I think one book stands out as the best, The Chosen. In my opinion, the relatable story made the book much more enjoyable, due to my Jewish friends and my admiration of the resilient Jewish faith. Next, I liked reading the book because of its deep-rooted characters; I never had to guess as to how they felt or about their weighty history. Lastly, Chaim Potok used expert literary styles, like exhibiting the thoughts od the characters, which made his book quite entertaining to read. I liked The Chosen, by Chaim Potok, the most out of all the books I read this semester because of the relatable story, fully developed characters and expert writing style.
My favorite book currently is ‘The Great Gatsby’ by F. Scott. Fitzgerald. Even though this was a very complicated and difficult novel to read, I thought the way Fitzgerald wrote this novel was one like no other. The complicated relationship between Jay and Daisy is so intriguing to understand and grasp as a reader. Also the 1920’s was one of the most epic times in history, and since this book was based on the time of the “Roaring 20’s” it was fascinating to get a look inside the lives of the rich and the poor. His use of unique diction and all different types of syntaxes is what I believe keeps readers loving his novels. Most literature novels are hard to create a well understanding of, or keep interest in, although I think the plot line of
God loves us and has chosen to rescue us from sin and death – this is called salvation. We receive salvation from sin and death when we receive Jesus by faith as our substitute, the One who took our place, as a gift of undeserved grace. Faith is a process of knowing the truth, accepting the truth, and putting our trust and dependence on the truth. God makes it clear from the start that salvation is nothing we can do on our own but rather it is “by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8).
12) Human decisions should always be centered in seeking the will of God (Romans 12:2; Ephesians 6:6; Luke
Everyone must accept God as their savior or they will go to hell. This is a very familiar message that is preached by Christian religious leaders in places of worship around the world. As simple as this message may seem, the way it is delivered to the people makes all the difference in either turning them into believers, or scaring them away from religion altogether.
When man calls upon God, putting his faith into God’s hands, man is involving himself in God’s eternal purpose. God’s eternal purpose was to bring many sons into his glory. The purpose for God calling many sons into his glory is so man will be prepared for the arrival God himself. God finds pleasure out of answering man’s prayer, it is man’s responsibility to seek God creating a relationship. When man prays to God and has faith within God, then he has entered God’s eternal purpose therefore man is saved. Man must approach God faithfully, if man doubts God, God will still be present in man’s life though man will not receive any of God’s grace. God believes in every man so man should have faith in God as
But God restored us to himself through his love and mercy and saved us with his grace (v. 4-7).
