When I became a registered nurse I never realized how many possibilities there were. You can do just about anything in the field of nursing. I now have many short term and long term goals I would like to accomplish. One of my short term goals is to finish and complete my Bachelor of Science in Nursing through Indiana University. My second short term goal would be to become certified in emergency nursing. I plan to accomplish these goals in a time frame of one to two years. However, I also have some long term goals as well. One of my long term goals is to finish a master’s degree program. Secondly, I would like to become a nurse practitioner. These goals will take around five to ten years to accomplish. Hopefully, by August 2018, I have my emergency nursing certification. In order to become certified, I have to fill out an application, pick a testing site, and then pay to take the exam. I then need to study and prep for the exam. Many books and online sources are available to help you study, like the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing. This site offers free study materials and tips for success. Review courses are available before you take the exam if needed. After preparing as much as possible, I would take the exam. Within a week, I would be notified if I passed or not. This certification would distinguish me from my colleagues as someone who is dedicated to emergency medicine. After completion of my bachelor’s degree as well as my certification in emergency nursing I have some other long term goals I would like to accomplish. One of my long term goals is to start and complete a master’s degree program in nursing. I have looked at various programs and the University of Southern Indiana has a family nurse practitioner program. In order to be accepted by the program, you must submit both an application to graduate school as well as an application for the graduate nursing program. There are many requirements including, having a baccalaureate degree in nursing, minimum GPA of 3.0-4.0, unencumbered registered nurse license, and one full year

I've very adaptive to new technology such as programs used for online documentation and electronic MARS. I always put my patients first and I take the time to listen to my patients & families, no matter how busy my schedule may be. I work well under pressure and in a solo or team environment. I strive to become more knowledgeable in nursing in order to provide the best care I can to my clients In order to excel at my profession and passion I need to do everything I can to make myself better. As part of that, I did not stop with Bachelors, I did my masters, then I did Medical-surgical certification & I am also certified preceptor, have certification from UCF. My upbringing developed my core beliefs of community, family, loyalty, compassion and honesty. It also taught me that all things worthwhile require hard work. I love being a nurse, but recognize my yearning for more. I love nursing and have enjoyed my time as a floor nurse although my work experiences are acutely based, I have observed the direct relation between primary and acute care. As a nurse primarily working with patients, I have observed how patient miseducation, miscommunication, and
Drawing characters, backgrounds, rims, cars, or trucks spends most of my pastime. In addition to drawing, I would also like to partake classes in Animation. My love for nursing began early in my life; in high school, my continuing desire to become a nurse resulted in my applying and being accepted to Midwestern State University. There, I received a BSN and became a registered nurse. My experience at Midwestern prepared me for a successful career by instilling confidence within me as I joined the workforce. As my experience grew and years went by, I became eager to further my education and pursue my master's degree. Then life happened: the two-legged version that requires love, compassion, energy, and time. Now that my child is in school, with the support of my family, I am ready and dedicated to become a family nurse practitioner.
To begin with, I am currently going to East Valley Institute of Technology to become a certified medical assistant. I am a graduate of Jefferson College of Health Sciences having obtained the Bachelor of Science Nursing credential in 2012. Since graduating from the program I have obtained licensure as a registered nurse and been employed as an emergency department staff nurse at Carilion Clinic’s busy level one trauma center. The education I received at Jefferson College taught me the basics of clinical nursing and nursing leadership; it is because of this foundation that I have thrived and grown in my role as an emergency nurse. I wish to continue my growth as a nurse and continue to advance in my practice - eventually becoming a leader within the Carilion organization. The next step in achieving my goals will be to acquire the Master of Science Nursing degree with a focus on Nursing Administration.
She recently accomplished the completion of a Master of Science Degree in Nursing- Family Nurse Practitioner Track at Texas Tech University Health Science Center. She would like to continue with a commitment to her educational goals by pursuing the Emergency Focus Concentration. Christy has worked in this fast paced, exciting, but challenging area of specialty for the past nineteen years. She has demonstrated her dedication to Emergency Nursing through nursing leadership, committees, and professional organizations in her community. Christy’s faithfulness to furthering her nursing career goes deeper than any job she has held over the past 18 years. Her level of success has taken an immense amount of hard work, culminating in her ultimate goal of acceptance into Texas Tech Health Science Center Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program. Christy plans to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and continue to seek a variety of continuing education (CE). My nursing aspiration after graduation is to become an Emergency Department Nurse at a hospital in the Jacksonville area. I think, in order to be a successful nurse, I have to demonstrate leadership skills and have a genuine, caring attitude towards my patients and peers.
I’ll commence by declaring I have always sought to be a nurse ever since I was a little girl. I would pretend those little candies were pills, sit at the table, fill out documents, and listen to heart sounds with my little play stethoscope. As I matured, I wanted to be a pediatrician but I got married, had children, got divorced and became a single mom nurturing three boys. I chose an occupation that would afford me the opportunity to attend school and manage my home life at the same time. Well, my boys and I persevered and I proceeded back to school to increase my salary and elevate my career. I looked up one day and recognized I had been a nurse for 20 years and loving it. I am now teaching nursing, and have found that I fully appreciate that as well. However, in order to be a full-time educator, you have to be master prepared. In 1992, I attended Detroit Practical Nursing Center where I became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). I went on to attend Wayne County Community College (WCCC) and acquired my Associates of Applied Science (AAS)
Nursing is an extraordinary field, which has many opportunities to offer, which is why I have decided to go into this broad field where there are continuous learning opportunities and the satisfaction of helping someone in any way that is possible. In order to enter the nursing field, one must fulfill the educational requirements of either a diploma from a nursing program or hospital, an associate’s degree in nursing, which is a two-year program, or a Bachelors of Science in Nursing, or BSN (“Education”). Nurses have to remain up to date on the constantly changing information within the field. Continuing education classes are required to keep
As my career advances I want to use my Master’s degree to help me propel myself above other. Furthermore, I am looking for the next step to improve my resume when promotions come around for the Dearborn Heights Fire Department. I believe this degree will help me stand out when I interview and show the necessary skills of motivation, desire, leadership and loyalty when entering a leadership role within the department. Secondly, we are looking to pilot a community paramedic program which I am very interested in leading and helping organize within our community. Furthermore, I am looking to expand my skills and knowledge as a skilled professional. This degree will allow me to grow as a nurse and apply the knowledge learned within this program in a real life scenario. I would like to work as an advanced practice nurse in an acute care setting where I can help the most amounts of people possible. I also want to give back as well and teach others as much as possible. In our department we have hired many new registered nurses who I have been trusted to orient. This has given me the knowledge and confidence needed to prepare myself for a leadership role within the department and provide the necessary feedback to others to allow them to continue to grow as
The future is a time or a period of time in which we follow through from the moment of speaking or writing our intentions. It is a time that has yet still to come. The future is what we work for, to go through school and have a career, in order to have a better life. My parents have taught me to work hard for the things I want, and I wish to have a bright future. That is one of the reasons why I am here at CI, to get an education that will help me find a career with sufficient salary that will support me and my future family.
