The name of my nursing home is called Sun Shine in the Valley. My nursing home supports the age of 65 years or older. Sun Shine in the Valley is located in Clearwater, Florida, since this city is the second largest older adult populations. Sun Shine in the Valley can take in a hundred residents at a time. In my nursing home, I have designed programs that will help each of my residents improve on their changing sensory loss, physical, health, cognitive, and social abilities.
The truth about aging is as a person aged in this world the person will lose their senses. (hearing, vision, touch, smell, and taste) Their sensory will become less sharp and hard for a person to notice details. Losing your senses can have a negative effect on your life,
Howard Terry Newman is 67 year old retired printer who suffered from Parkinson’s disease as well as arthritis, voice impairment, hiatal hernia, and heart trouble. Mr. Newman, the appellee, is contesting his stay between September 19, 1968 and November 11, 1968 at the appellant’s facility, Big Town Nursing Home. 3. Humans are born with approximately 10,000 taste buds. After the age of 50, seniors can begin to lose taste buds. Additionally, many seniors lose their sense of smell. This can make enjoying food and getting enough calories difficult for some elderly.
As we age, our brain and nervous system go through natural changes. An aging adult may experience memory loss, decreased touch sensation, change in the perception of pain, change in sleep pattern, decreased coordination and increased risk for infection (Ignatavicius, 2013, p. 912) .
In the essay I will be explaining the important processes in human resources. Within human resources there are many factors to be considered when planning recruitment within health and social care. As a trainee HR officer at St Jude's nursing home the factors to be considered when planning are; corporate objectives, financial strategies, and economic changes.
“The Palace” is located in the heart of the gables. It is one of the top notch awarded nursing home facilities for seniors stated by many families. Currently being an employee at this facility, I am learning the frightful stories of senior living. Even the Palace one of the most expensive, awarded senior living is actually a terrible place for the elderly. Especially, working at the Front Desk as the receptionist, I have seen firsthand how these poor seniors are forced into these haunted “luxurious” homes. The marble of the building has been often a misleading reason for placing their parent or grandparent in such terrible care. Most humans tend to judge by the appearance of the nursing homes rather than further investigating any violations that the facilities may have. From my own experience with my grandmother, I know it can be very difficult to take care of a senior citizen, especially when they suffer from various conditions and are just not safe in their home. Once adults become seniors, they require a lot of attention and assistance, which is hard when running a whole household and a career. But placing your loved one in one of these facilities can just shorten the amount of time they have to live. Also, it can be very expensive. Lastly, nursing home makes seniors feel the lack of freedom.
I signed up to volunteer at a local nursing home. Because my father works there, I have been there many times before. However, volunteering there was very new to me.

As an older individual there are many physical changes that occurs during this stage of life. Older individuals live independently and maintain close relationships with family and friends. Most individual’s personalities remain relatively stable throughout their lives. Depression is less prevalent than depression in younger adults. Becoming older can cause hearing impairment. 37 percent of women and 48 percent of men over the age of 75 have impaired hearing. Also there is a decline in vision. It will start to become difficult to read small print, seeing in sim light, or even finding objects. Some aging adults may even need

The ability to understand the external environments may be more comprehensive and complex than internal environments. Political pressures and key stakeholders have been known to use tactics to prevent institutional administrations to operate by proficient means. Acquiring a vast array of information may be considered too time-consuming and not cost effective for future opportunities by some stakeholders. These potential opportunities could include innovative international programs, faculty resources for research, additional governmental contracts, and contemporary academic program development. These supplementary opportunities may present themselves as issues or problems from external stakeholders if they feel there is no necessity to explore
“Young people need something stable to hang on to- a cultural connection, a sense of their own past, a hope for their own future. Most of all, they need what grandparents can give them.” This quote by Jay Kesler hits the nail on the head. There is so much to learn and to glean from our grandparents. I know not everyone is lucky enough to have grandparents as they either have passed away, or maybe there just isn’t an enjoyable relationship between the grandparents and their grandkids. For those whose grandparents are still alive, I urge them to reach out, visit them and learn about history from their perspective, learn what it was like back in the 20s, 30s and 40s. If you don’t have living grandparents, go visit a nursing home! My mother has worked at nursing homes since I was a little girl and let me tell you, those who don’t have dementia, love talking about their younger years, and about how life was for them when they were kids. My favorite time of the year was summer time, not due to school being out, but for the reason that it was the time I got to spend with just my grandparents, discovering facts about our family, developing home economical skills like gardening, baking and the inevitable chores and of course going on trips.
Based upon the reading of both Plato and Aristotle I couldn’t help noticing that they had the same idea towards what can make an effective society. Starting with elitism as a basis, they both defined it as the rule of the few who are excellent in ruling. Although both Aristotle and Plato both agree on the definition they had two different beliefs as to what elitism was according to their beliefs. Aristotle believed that those who hold the power in this elitist political system was through a system of hereditary. On the other hand Plato strongly believed the opposite to his teacher, he believed that the rulers had to go through an extensive and exhaustive training and a meticulous selection process to be considered for the role of the true and rightful leader. After seeing elitism we can go into the political philosophy of egalitarianism, which can be defined in very simple terms, People should be treated as equals, should treat one another as equals, should relate as equals, or enjoy an equality of social status of some sort.
