Figuring out what you 're going to do for a career is one of the most difficult and stressful things you can do in your early years of life. It 's a decision that some people sometimes regret or are unable to make in the first place. I think what made my decision of wanting to own my own business such an easy one was that it wasn 't something I had to choose on my own, I had God with me inspiring and guiding me the entire way. I can remember in vivid detail when God called me to start my own business. It was a night during teen camp at Lake Geneva Christian Center my freshman year of high school. The speaker was preaching on how we all have our own unique gifts and calling from God, and how we as Christians need to answer that call, whatever it may be. Growing up the son of a pastor I always felt a pressure to go into the ministry, never directly from my mother of father, but it always seemed to just be there. So during the alter call I saw many of my fellow friends being called to become missionaries, pastors, and worship leaders, while I felt a calling to open my own business. I questioned myself for a while thinking, how am I going to be helping make an impact in the kingdom of God if I 'm not involved in the ministry somehow? The doubts eventually disappeared with prayer and more confirmation from God. Scripture from Jeremiah gave me much comfort in my times of question, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and
My desire to work in the Catholic School system stems primarily from the ability to share my faith openly in such an environment, however, the Catholic School’s focus on the growth of the whole person, spiritual and academic and its commitment to service in the community and the world are also very important to me.

When I asked myself what I was I going to be when I got older, I had no answer. This made me realize that I had to make a decision and I had to make one fast. An area of study I have always been interested in is business. My dreams as a child have always been to become the President of The United States or an owner of a business. Working for a business would be intresting, but owning one would be more fulfilling. I would be able to expand my imagination by coming up with new ideas and control the company as a whole. I love designing and creating different things that make people happy, and if one day I became an owner of a company that produced products that satisfied people, that would make me happy. I soon came to the conclusion that in

Thinking about what career that you want to pursue can be mind boggling but for me it was an easy task because all of my life I dreamed of becoming a Medical Assistant in a doctor’s office, in fact I use to go to work with my mother when I was a little and watch her work. It was very fascinating watching her work. After going to work a few times and seeing the work that she was doing, I knew the career path that I want to take. I was so smitten by the work that she was doing that I would pretend that I had my own make belie office at home. I would find myself trying to type, file papers and answer the phone.
Throughout my entire life, I thought I knew what I wanted to do as my career. Even going into college I was deadest on getting my business degree in marketing and achieve my minor of fashion.
God placed that direction of life on my heart. The first person I told was Jeremiah. He was ecstatic from the moment I told him. I can even remember the squeal of enjoyment he gave as he wrapped his arms around me in a loving embrace. From that moment, he’s been on board with this mission I have. Every opportunity he gets, he’ll challenge me to see how my Scripture study is going, making sure I am on task to get to my goals. He’ll also join me in on his own personal challenges, as we are now working together to start a fellowship club to help spread our faith at school.
Hannah Dever’s dreams of opening her own florist shop was inspired by a teacher. “Mrs. Fristch has really inspired me to become a florist.” She explained. Some of them just develop a high passion for things early in life. Katie Creech, who plans to become an art therapist or a tattoo artist said “I’ve always loved art and helping people so I figured why not put the two together. But then again tattoos have become a passion of mine.” In choosing the right career to pursue it should always be one in which they’ll enjoy. The struggle of knowing myself specifically learning what I really want to do started when I was in high school. The influences I had from my peers torn my ability to decide for my own. Although, they did not force me to the things I don’t want to do but instead I pushed myself to do their way so I could say that I’m not being left behind.
Deciding what one wants to do for the rest of their life is definitely not a simple decision to make. Hundreds of factors affect one’s decision and sometimes, their plans do not fall through exactly as they had anticipated. Knowing what one wants to pursue is one thing, but knowing how to go about one’s goals and willing to put in all the hard work required to succeed is another thing. Staying focused in my academics, being able to connect with people of all age groups, and building character have all played a great influence in my life thus far.
The decisions we make in life shape us into the person we are today. People don’t always make the best decisions but there is always something to be learned from each one made. Although I know this to be true, I am still reluctant to make any major decision in my life without extensive planning and research. Some would say growth is impossible without failure but I prefer to get it right the first time. I have always played it safe when it came to my future. I started examining possible careers around fifteen. At the time I did not know myself well enough to choose a career. I wanted to make a lot of money so I chose to be an Anesthesiologist solely based upon a five minute google search on the highest paid professions.
There are many decisions an individual has to make in life, and choosing a career is one of the most important decisions he or she can make. Many people struggle with choosing one because of various factors that must be considered before embarking on a career path. Knowledge of self is important because, in order to successfully choose a correct path in life, it is important for the person to know themselves and align their personalities and abilities to what they choose to do. Individuals must set goals for themselves in terms of what they want out of their education and career so that they can make informed decisions pertaining to their lives. Plans must be carefully made if people want a successful career that they feel fulfilled with. My client, Randy, has been through a process of learning about himself, has goals that have been, and will be, fulfilled, and has set clear plans on what he wants out of his career. Randy is a successful athletic trainer because he has taken the time to plan his life out and find a job that best matches his personality and goals.
Making a decision on the right career for myself was difficult. What am I passionate about? How can I do what I love while making a great amount of money? Questions like that constantly traveled through my mind. I never spent much time focusing on what I would do after college.
Each of us has a different calling and it can begin as a child. For example as a child my mother and grandmother were called to sell what we called “SENSATIONAL CUPS”. The cost of food back in the 70’s and 80’s was not as high as it is now. I realized I was being taught entrepreneurship. Sometimes we have to use what we got to get what we want and EVERY HOUSEHOLD had KOOL-AID!
