My Responsibility as an American Citizen
By Holden Kuehn
It is very important that in order have America prosper we must have citizens that are committed to keeping this nation safe and keeping it fair. I am at the present time that my responsibly to America is to help feed the nation, to educate myself, and to respect the public services that I am blessed with everyday. My very first responsibility to America is to play a role by taken upon a career or job that I am able to pay taxes and earn a living. I am currently farming with my dad and it is our responsibility to grow crops so we can feed this growing nation. Without taking on the challenges that arise everyday I would be neglecting my responsibility to help make America’s economy grow. We all play a part in having our nation succeed. I have to make sure that when we buy things on our farm that we fill out the proper papers for the government and make sure that we pay them taxes since that helps repair our public services. I am just getting out of high school and so far I am at the

I believe that without taxes that we wouldn't have the necessities to function. I appreciate the fact that we have roads and even other public services like our law enforcement offices and even the postal services. Nowadays it seems like with the Black Lives Matter programs that our law enforcement group is made up of a bunch of bad guys. The real problem is that the Black Lives Matter organization hasn’t even taken into account the facts and with the media don’t know how to use their education to become an advantage. This is a prime example on how I will continue to educate myself so I can continue to respect my country when it comes to those serving for it and those protecting it. If is always the responsibility of Americans to pay respect towards this country and everyone who is apart of
“The Duties of American Citizenship” was a speech given by Theodore Roosevelt eighteen years prior to his presidency. This speech outlines how one can become a “good American citizen.” In order to persuade his audience to become more involved in the civic duties of a citizen, Roosevelt incorporates many rhetorical devices including repetition and anecdotes.
We all share a common responsibility in the success of the land of the free. It is our upmost duty to allow our brothers and sisters around us to feel welcome and safe of the worlds they are running from. As an American citizen, I hold up my responsibility by allowing myself to become aware and appreciative of the cultures around me. As members of Congress, the American people look up to you to be our voices through your legislative actions. Each and every
My Responsibility to America is to be a Teacher. A teacher's role is to help the children to educate and persuade them through their future. I feel like it makes a difference in society , not only society but in the child's future.
The biggest problem facing the United States today is our diminished sense of duty. As citizens, as members of society, as neighbors and as individuals we must reinvigorate our sense of duty to ensure our country will achieve its full potential and regain its standing as an example of democracy’s unique ability to better mankind. Throughout our nation’s history our obedience to duty has served to spur our growth and to quash our demons. It has been the impetus for farmers leaving their fields and families to fight for independence and for millions to march in peaceful demonstrations demanding civil rights for all. As citizens we have obligations to our nation, as neighbors we have obligations to each other, and as individuals we have obligations to ourselves, each of which is requisite to the healthy survival of a state dedicated to furthering the great experiment of democracy as a fundamental right. Duty is the price of liberty.
One of my obligations as an American is to exercise my freedoms to benefit our country. One example of how I can accomplish this would be, standing up for kids that are being bullied or picked on. This is not always easy to do since most of
My responsibility to America is not to become a superhero, or uncover a drug-trafficking ring. It’s not to pass a law banning the use of deadly weapons, or prevent that law from being passed. It’s not to fight against the injustices of the world, or end world hunger, or cure cancer. It’s not to climb Mount Everest, or to destroy a terrorist organization. It’s not to eliminate illegal immigration, or to write a speech as iconic as “I have a dream,” or “Four score and seven years ago.” It’s not to change the way we think, or to fix the things we break.
“You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.” Abraham Lincoln. My responsibility to America is to take responsibility. Being a teen, I think many teenagers believe that we cannot impact on our community and don’t need to take responsibility till we turn eighteen. Of course I can mess around for my whole life until becoming an adult, and instantly stop and become mature. Not exactly, we can start having an impact in our cities or even our whole country if we realize we don’t need to be irresponsible like media conditions us to believe.
Each citizen of the United States of America has many responsibilities and many ways to fulfill those responsibilities. However, there are many people within this country that never take those duties seriously. We as Americans need to remember those who gave their lives to form and solidify the foundations of this nation. In addition to that, our freedoms are constantly being threatened, and in order to continue with our freedoms and way of life we need to be willing to fulfill our obligations to our country. There are an abundance of people who want access to the freedoms, but are never willing to fight for them or earn what they are given. America has always been a strong and respected nation, but there are
Attributes that a responsible and faithful citizen acquires; many of which include respecting the laws and authority, diversity, property, and the environment. A responsible citizen contributes to the community, has a willingness to learn, is considerate, and many other characteristics. But words can never describe the act taken upon in such manner of cede as in 9/11. Through my citizenship and the courageous acts taken during and after 9/11, I have learned that serving is one of my many responsibilities, responsibilities that can be acted upon now or in the future. I currently serve in my church, high school, and family. In the future, I will be serving on government requirements such as: jury duty, paying taxes, and the option of voting. I have found that as an American, my citizenship is a treasure I must take pride in. Privileges and rights are just a factor of having a citizenship. The Founding Fathers of our nation believed in citizenship and my responsibilities are a minor act of gratitude towards the efforts and honor to others who have gone before me to do the same for the past
What is our duties and obligations to our country. What is the importance of these duties to our nation, government, and the other citizens of the united states. What is questioned to be the beliefs of those who do not know what is our duties as citizens. and brief examples of our duties and obligations to the government based upon the constitution. It is our duty as citizens to abide by the constitution. To protect the constitution and all it details in. To vote and express out voice through electing representation to speak on our behalf. To serve on a jury to represent the constitution and our
My grandpa puts an interesting spin on the phrase, “With great power comes great responsibility” by replacing “power” with “privilege”. By his logic, those who have, have an obligation to help those who lack, regardless of the commodity. As a middle class American afforded a good education, I n (After being lucky to travel to South Africa and witnessing a small taste of life in a third world word country, I have taken his message to heart, and always try to help others at every opportunity I am given. Although not all, many of the traits of a good citizen can be traced back to acting responsibly, which I plan to do throughout college with a focus on the high standards of education, social opportunities and ________, and participation available
Explain what you think being a good citizen is? Why is citizenship a responsibility of everyone?
Those responsibilities are to support the Constitution and America, be informed on government. They argue that doing all of these things is what keeps society together and betters it. However, in supporting the constitution the individuals need to like the rights they have. No one will support something if they aren’t getting what they need. If the people’s rights are fair then they will naturally support the constitution without need to be forced to.
My responsibility to my country is not based on what our founding fathers say, but on what God says. The powers ordained over us by God exist for a reason. For no other reason, but for the glory of God, we are to submit to those authorities and love them. My responsibility as a citizen to America is clear to me. I find clarity in what God says, not what seems right to me. Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers, for there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained by God, Romans 13:1. It is my duty to my country to submit to those over me, ordained by God to lead me. It is my duty to my country to become involved where I can, and participate in what changes my future and the future of
Basically a citizen has certain obligation to fulfill like respect rights, beliefs and opinion of others, stay informed of issues that affect the community, serve in jury when called upon, participate in democratic process, able to defend the country if need be. There are other responsibilities that may be inevitable as citizen such as having a social security number, paying taxes, register for selective service, attend school until the age of 16, and obey all laws (14th Amendment, July 2017).
