Hundreds of various thoughts and dreams crossed my mind, awakened frightened because of wind shears. Still feeling sleepy, the captain started talking about the weather in Houston and how much time left till landing. We would approach Houston in a short time and my first day in the United States was about to begin. My first day in the United States disturbed me too much although it ended well.
At this time one of the stewardesses came to me and gave me special form for US arrival security. I have a thing about filling out the forms and I felt happy. But after a while, I felt annoyed because of the many forms that I received. At last the airplane came to a bumpy landing. The airplane went over a long way and at the end parked near one of

Stay here and I will call you again"
"Alright, but I want to talk to my friend and tell him I will get out in a while, is there any phones around here that can I use?"
"Sir this is the special registration room, you can't move from here until I let you go." He finished the discussion toughly.
Weird and bitter dialogue finished at last. The nostalgia had gotten more and more powerful by that time. I felt upset during the next hour. I thought that I would stay in detention for some days. Finally the non-rapturous "Special Registration" had finished after about six hours and I took my baggage and ran out of there as fast as I could.
I started to look around for my friend. Trying to find a phone to call him, someone came to me, someone who looked so familiar to me. "Oh my Gosh, is that you Omid?" he said.
"Sean?!" I answered doubtful.
"What the hell? You've changed a lot! It has been two years since the last time that we met"
"I'm really glad to see you again"
"Me too"
"Hey man! Where is your stuff? Let's take them to my car. It's right in front of the entrance!"
I felt relaxed after all those drab incidents. The situation had exhausted both of us, so, we jumped into the car rapidly. I was so hungry that I could eat a horse! I told him to take us to a restaurant to eat something.
In the way, I saw large acres of natural land right in the middle of the city. High and numerous bridges was the
Next, I want to tell you about my first day in high school in America because I was very excited and a little bit nervous. My first day in Shawnee Mission northwest high school I felt very nervous because I did know anyone in the class and I did not understand the language. I felt very embarrassed when teacher or someone in class was asking me a question or talking with me but I did not understand what they were talking or asking me about. However, I felt very happy and enjoyed the first day of high school because I met my new people and met my best teachers that helped me further.
I remember my first day in America like it just happened yesterday! I moved to America from India when I was just 12 year old. When I started my journey to America, I was getting mixed feelings, one side I was excited to go to America I saw in movies and wanted to be a part of great American culture but on the other side I was feeling sad about leaving behind my friends and place I was born and spent my childhood. But when Pilot announced that we are about to reach to Houston in 30 minutes I got anxious and opened my seat window. When I looked Houston through plane window, cars on freeway looked like ants’ running in one line and that was really
When I first came to the United States of America, that's like in "sticky situation" for me.
I was all packed and ready for the journey. I was very frightened, because I was leaving the only place I knew. My family was not coming with me and I missed them. I was riding a stinky old steamboat to America. I was not excited for the long journey to America. The food smelled bad and I was uncomfortable, but I was going to America so I tried to keep my thoughts on that. At least I was waking up to a better life in America.
It was the 11th, the day that we arrived. My dad and my sister had already made it, and it was really late. My flight landed, and so had 16 others. We off of the flight, and headed straight for immigration. Last time we came, immigration took 5 minutes, but this time, it took 45! After the long immigration process, we went to the baggage belt, where we couldn’t find our bags. While we were walking to go and file a complaint, we found one of our bags off of the baggage belt. Others took our bags off of the belt, so we went around the belt to find the bags. After we found the bags, we headed out of the airport. It was 4 am, and as soon as we got home, we went to sleep. We got up at about nine and got ready to go to my aunt and uncle’s 25th anniversary
“wait, wait” he ran after me and slid in front of me blocking the door. He grabbed the door handle with one hand and slowly drew the other hand to the top of his head. He started to tug on his hair and seemed to be pulling off his head. No, it was a mask. And I immediately recognized
“No no, let me finish. So he walked up to me and asked me, why I was standing there? So I told him and I told him that I would give my friend half an hour to show up. Then the policeman left. Then a cold drizzle fell from the sky. Then I saw, from a few feet away..”
Today’s the day I finally go to America. Or at least pack for it. I have some fruit, a quilt, and a map of America. I’m William Baines, and I live in Europe. My family has gotten hard times here. A war broke out, and our crops keep dying. America has some good conditions for farming, I heard. We are departing tomorrow and I hope the New World we have will be great.
I wake up really fast, jumping out of bed, getting to shower, showering faster than I could, dressing up immediately, I start to eat breakfast and finishing really fast.
When I first came to United State I was afraid to talk, I was scared that people will judge my accent and my word choice.I wasn’t enough to speak until the second year of middle school. After I realized that I needed to step out from my zone, the first step that I chose overcome was to speak with my teachers. I tried to ask questions, told them the story of the book that I read to practice my speaking skill and it helped me a lot. But even though I got comfortable with my speaking, I still could not make friends because I could not understand the conversation that my classmate had, I don’t understand what is popular in this place and what is not. I tried to search it but It didn’t help because It is not appealing to me and have no idea how
"Oh, I didn't really think of that." I giggle, I pull my phone out of my bag and dial Luke's number.

For many students, a first day of school can be exciting but somewhat nervous. I was no exception. Both my first day of elementary school in Korea and of high school in America excited and terrified me. Although these two days concern the stories of my first days of school, they were different from one another due to the difference in region, race and mindset, and pedagogical method.
As I slept I hear my alarm going off and I excitedly jump out of bed. It is only 4:00 am and the sky is still dark. It is August 20, 2015 and I am double checking everything. This is my first time driving out of the city of Dallas by myself. I am on my way to a new journey, I am moving to Houston. I had only been to Houston twice and both times I was there only for a day so I never got to see the city. That was about to change because now I will be living there. I did one big sweep of my house to make sure I had everything I would need for my drive. Only thing I could think about was “This is it Brianna, you will be in Houston in a few hours”.
It was my first day at work and I thought to myself, Is my hair straight? Are these the right clothes? Are the people going to be mean? I walked in with confidence in my face as the sliding doors opened for me. It was busy and every register was full of people. At least ten customers were at each one.. I walked in and walked to the supervisor. “I’m ready to work,” I said with a big smile. He looked at me as welcoming as ever and walked me over to behind the counter. He gave me an old, plastic bag full of money and a solid, black till that looked well used.
