Nancy's POV

"Nancy . . . Nancy wake up." A soft voice says in my ear.

My eyes flash open light filling them, I notice a pair of steady eyes staring at me. It takes me a moment to realize these are my mother's eyes, she is sitting on the side of my bed with her hand resting on my arm.

"Get up honey, breakfast is ready." mom advises as she stands from my bed and smooths out her skirt, giveing me a thin smile as she slips out of my room. I rub my tired eyes, and sit up in my bed. A brown strand of hair falls in front of my eyes as I do so. Standing from my bed, I slide on my slippers and groggily walk to the bathroom. The laughter of children constantly echos through the air. Making the carnival feel as alive as the sun. Something hard bumps into my shoulder and I'm pushed into the grass. I look up to see panicked chocolate brown eyes looking back into mine, a blush creeps into my cheeks.

"I'm so sorry," I confessed scrambling to my feet and dusting myself off.

"Don't be i'm the one who ran into you." the stranger says. His whole face turning red out of embarrassment as he diverts his eyes from mine. A older man bumps into the boy "Watch it kid." he barks. The boys face flushes and he runs a hand through his messy brown hair nervously. Grabing his arm, I fight our way out of the crowd mumbling "Excuse me" when I bump into people. I find a small clearing with a bench and sit down, the boy sits beside me. The bench is small and our legs brush against one another. I let go of the boy's hand. "Are you okay?" he asks "Again i'm really sorry." I nod my head "I'm
