Baseball is the sport to play, America’s pastime. We all strive to be the “Iron Horse” or “Yogi” of our teams. My goal every game is to push myself to a 110% effort. In every sport our biggest rival is Gillette. The strongest rivalry in Wyoming. The game I didn’t reach my goal affected how I’ve played to this day. It was the top of the sixth inning against the jr Riders from Gillette. We had just went on a run of seven runs in one inning putting us up eight to two. Coach Bubba gathered us together to tell us that we need a three up three down inning to win the game. We took the field with a pep in our step confident that we had this game in the bag. Cody Kilpatrick was on the bump with me behind the dish. Cody was by far the most accurate and the best pitcher on our team so I had faith that we would pull off three strikeouts.
