I, Nichlas Alexander Chalmers was born in the town of Wellington, Kansas. Growing up I had trouble talking to people and making friends, so I spent most of my time at home playing video games or messing around on the computer. During this time, I had taken an extreme interest in science and technology. Space, computers, programming, and engineering are some of the subjects I’ve looked into. The world I live in is nothing like I want it to be. Everyone cares so little about things that actually matter. We do not care enough about the environment, or other people; one thing we do care very much about is money. Dipsticks, the lot of us, have made money the most important resource in our world. We let homeless people walk the streets, we are destroying
“The Transformation of European Society” by Gary B. Nash talks about the economic, social, and religious changes that took place in the British colonies in the eighteenth century in North America. The author discussed that the people of a once strict hierarchical society of Europe now had a more democratic and individualistic American view. The vast land, which distinguished America from Europe, allowed people to get rich fast and climb the social ladder. Unlike America, in Europe there was a large disparity between the rich and the poor. If you were born a blacksmith's son, you would die a blacksmith. However, the vast amount of land in America offered great opportunities for growth. Poor farmers could become rich businessmen in no time in the northern colonies, which helped to develop an
However living there is a choice and we has a society just need to accept it. What may seem like a nightmare for us may be a normal everyday thing for someone else. The best thing we can do has a society is be kind to one another. If you see someone is struggling, help them out. Whether it’s a little money, food, a warm blanket, etc. I think sometimes we forget that we are all humans and we need to take care of each other. This world can be a cruel place but we have the choice to make it a little brighter for someone
Greed takes over many peoples lives today and it seems that the world revolves around money, wealth and other things and it controls many peoples lives. For example, the four children that own walmart made over 29 Billion dollars a year for owning walmart but they pay their 1.4 million workers so little that they can’t support themselfs. This example should really be addressed because even though they make so much money a year that they could just burn most of it and still be rich when their workers struggle to make a living. On the other hand Walmart started from nothing and grew to where it is.
“It was time, I thought, for someone to stand up for what’s right; and it might as well be me.” Ivan Allen Jr. wrote these words in a journal just days after the Atlanta mayoral election of 1961. Allen Jr. made the decision early on in his political career to base his choice-making not on the polls, but on his own moral values. He possessed a certain quiet strength that made him an admirable character in the political scene. His fortitude of character and bravery enabled him to become one of the most impactful mayors in our nation’s history.
As humans we strive to live in a utopian environment, free of elements of aggression, greed, and violence. Most of us try to live a healthy and satisfying life, gaining from opportunities that we have sought and worked hard for. We take life as it comes, and we accept the challenges and difficulties that life puts out as we continue on no matter how hard it gets. However, there are a multitude of people who tend to think that life is just too hard and that they should be handed everything on a silver platter. Greed and violence begin to factor into their life as they continue in their set ways. They think that the world should revolve around their every need and that life is unbearably hard and unjustly unfair. These
Jebidiah Ethan Smith (1 December 1808-23 June 1870?) was born in city of Hastings, in the county of East Sussex, on the south coast of England. He was an English Oxford Professor, archaeologist, scholar, occultist, ceremonial magician, ancient world explorer and curator. In Marc Bennetts’ article, “Russia’s anti-gay law is wrong – but so is some of the criticism from the west”, he explains what exactly the law is about in laymen terms. Though the law is ‘vaguely’ word as Bennetts puts it, the law basically outlaws propaganda of homosexuality to minors. Bennetts is stating how the western world, the United States mostly, has played into Vladimir Putin’s hands by its criticism of the law.
Livia Drusilla was born on January 30th 58 BCE in Rome. She was the daughter of Roman noble Marcus Livius Drusus Claudianus. Like most women in ancient Rome, she was married at an early age. She married her cousin, Tiberius Claudius Nero, who was of patrician status, at age 16 in 42 BCE. This was around the same time her first son, Tiberius, was born. Her husband fought alongside her father and Julius Caesar’s assassins against Octavian. Even when her father committed suicide at the Battle of Philippi, her husband keep fighting against Octavian. In 40 BCE, her family had to leave to avoid the triumvirate of Octavian; they later moved to Greece.
A writer describes his life through a narrative of small moments that culminate in a larger story. The moments can be infinitesimally unimportant to the non-trained eye, but are incredibly important to a writer. Nicholas Bradford sees himself as a writer. Whether or not this is a ludicrous assumption on his part is not the point. No one can deny that the boy loves to write, and some people have even gone as far to say that he is good at it.
Marcus Cocceius Nerva was born on November 8, 35 CE in the small town of Narnia in Umbria, fifty miles north of Rome. He was the Roman emperor from 96 to 98 CE and his reign brought stability after the turbulent successions of his predecessors. Nerva became emperor at the age of sixty-five, after a lifetime of imperial service under Nero and the rulers of the Flavian dynasty. (Murison, 154). On 18 September, 96, Domitian was assassinated in a palace conspiracy organised by court officials, which had brought an end to the Flavian Dynasty, a dynasty started by his father Vespasian in 69 CE. On the same day, Nerva was declared emperor by the Roman Senate as the new ruler of the Roman Empire.

There are many horrendous problems with this planet. Many believe that one small voice can not make a difference in one’s country and often humans trust their instinct that no one can make a contrast in their community. The thing that is quite hard to see is that you can indeed alter what you wish if you try. One attempt will not do, you must put forth an effort and commitment to see the modifications actually come forth. Making a change you wish will take much endeavor and be
I am tired of how the world makes people, how rude people are, how nobody cares about anything anymore. The world itself doesn’t cause how people are, however people and things bring others to be sad and mad. I am tired of rude people are all around the world are. I am extremely tired on how people don’t care about anything. Most people don’t care about the environment, people, pets, wild animals, even their own lives. I am pretty tired of all of
