Finance is one of the fundamental parts of business. It is also a field with great earning potential and rewarding career options in a wide range of industries. One of the reasons I am interested in this career is its narrow focus that would allow me to explore a field that is dense with job opportunities. This career will also allow me to work with the decision makers of outside organizations, including banks, government agencies, stockholders, suppliers, businesses, and more. With this said, there are a wide variety of job opportunities as well, such as corporate management, financial planning services, commercial and investment banks, and many more. Not only is a finance great major for working for large corporations, but also helpful in anyone who is willing to do business someday. Thus, this career matches with both my skills and interests.

The job market for finance career is prominent in Minnesota as well as worldwide. This can be seen from the fact that nineteen Minnesota companies made the Fortune 500 list in 2013. The list is comprised of the largest public and closely held corporations in the USA based on revenue ("Fortune 500 Companies"). Thus, seeking out internships in Twin Cities area would be a great place for students.

When you think about a teacher, you automatically think about someone who teaches kids for a living. Being a teacher doesn’t have to be just teaching children on a daily basis. Teachers are the reasons why a lot of children have grown to love learning and appreciate the effort their teacher has put into their education. Teachers are very important in today’s society and they do a lot for everyone. Teachers aren’t just there to make lesson plans, grade papers, and write on black-boards. Teachers are around because they want to give children a proper education.
Q1: Why and how is the job market for administrative professionals growing or declining? What effect do you think the economy and technology have had on the field?
The career I chose to undertake as my profession is that of a mechanical engineer. Why do I want to become a mechanical engineer? Well, for starters, I would be able to design, build and possibly repair many various machines and other technologies that are complex. These technologies can range from being already in use on a global scale to new, futuristic designs that are highly technical. Also, this career includes being a sort of jack-of-all-trades, where I would possess knowledge in mathematics, physics, etc. Finally, this career offers me the chance to expand outside my immediate area since mechanical engineers are well desired around the globe as well.
While growing up, there are innumerable decisions to be made and paths to take. As I am approaching the ending point of my high school career, I have finally found the correct one for me. I have known from a surprisingly young age that I wish to pursue a job in the medical field, and have taken a number of steps to help achieve this dream. I show tremendous passion for both my educational and career goals, and how to reach them. My future is incredibly important to me because through doing my job, I will also be achieving my biggest goal: saving lives.

When I discovered the Finance Internship Program with Comcast NBCUniversal on Handshake, I was immediately drawn to the opportunity to join an innovative and industry leading organization. I am excited by the chance to gain corporate finance experience by working in one of Comcast’s many finance functions and being able to develop my business and finance related skills with an organization as prominent as Comcast NBCUniversal. As a junior majoring in Finance at the University of Arizona, I am passionate about corporate finance. Over the course of a few weeks, I have taken many tests during Career Education to determine which jobs would best suit me. These tests have led me to further investigate three occupations: architecture, personal financial advisor and a lawyer. Based on the personal, aptitude, multiple intelligence, and career tests that I have taken, these jobs would suit me and fulfill my needs in a job.
There are many careers out there for a college student, finding the one that someone sees themselves working in for all the their life now that is hard to find. I have had one career that I have wanted to do since high school and that is being a Forensic Scientist. This career depends on working in crime labs in federal or state laboratories. I was born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Woodbridge, VA where I still reside. I am an extroverted person who enjoys going out to social gatherings and meeting new people, which is why I feel that banking is a good career for me.
