A lot of people think communication is the same in all places, well it’s not. All over the place people communicate differently. For example, in Egypt its custom to have intense eye contact while having a conversation (Commisceo Global, 2017). In this paper, I am going to explain all of Egypt’s Verbal and Nonverbal communication, Values, and Beliefs. In Egypt, there isn’t much of verbal communication other than they may speak softly or really loud during a conversation. Most Egyptians use a lot of emotion during conversations, if a person seems reserved about their feelings during a conversation the other person may see that as rude or offensive (Warburton, n.d.). Now in Egypt, most Egyptians use a lot of nonverbal communication. For example, “eye contact is a sign of sincerity and honesty” (Commisceo Global, 2017). They also use a lot of hand gestures while talking, mostly when they are excited about a thing in the conversation (Commisceo Global, 2017). Egyptians men also greet with handshakes when meeting one another and if they know the other person very well they may kiss one another in the cheek (MCFEE, n.d.). Men will also get very close to one another while talking, distance doesn’t mean much in Egypt (MCFEE, n.d.). It is okay to interfere in the personal distance of one another in Egypt but in the United States people feel intrude of their personal space.
