“A Tale of Two Airlines” is an article written by Christopher Elliott to educate to economy on travel planning. He was born on May 31, 1960. He is a journalist and consumer advocate who writes for people who want to become more informed travelers (www.nbcnews.com/id/10912488/ns/travel/t/Christopher-elliott/#.Vc_RIO9RGM8). He is known for his many articles with the National Geographic Traveler Magazine and being a travel columnist with the Washington Post and USA Today. A Tale of Two Airlines or is Good Vs Evil in the air; Southwest Airline vs Spirit Airlines.
‘A Tale of Two Airlines’ written by Christopher Elliot explores the realm of no-frill discount airline carries which are both highly successful while using completely separate tactics. While Elliot does a decent job of providing backing evidence for each point made in his “argument” he never really takes a defiant stance against one airline carrier or the other. In the following paragraphs I will analyze both his arguments against Southwest airlines and Spirit Airlines and try to give my interpretation on how his arguments could have been improved as a whole.
For the engine cost, there is also a positive correlation thus; increase in this cost may also vary in the increase in average age of fleet per hour. However, on this cost, only 61% is determined in the regression equation. Like in the airframe cost, there will be additional 2.6 in cost for every hour of average age in thousands.

During the 1980’s the outdated flagship airport; Stapleton needed an update. Instead of investing more money into making the airport more efficient, Denver looked to create a bigger airport that would be able to expand for years to come. (Encyclopedia, W. H, n.d.). In 1989, Denver officials found a plot of land with 35,000 acres that would be home to KDEN – Denver International Airport, about 4 years later it opened in September 1993. KDEN is located on the northeastern side of Denver making it easily obtainable to get to the downtown section of Denver.
What I am trying to demonstrate in my paper is that airplanes have played such a vital role in our society and culture it has granted us so many of our needs and wants whether it be travelling, eating a certain food, and also one of the major issues is keeping our country safe with warplanes. Why I believe airplanes is such a crucial area to study is because I believe people take for granted everything they have in life. Most of everything they have has been transported by airplanes and is now in the hands of the buyer. it has also allowed family, and friends to see each other faster compared driving, travelling by train, or boat.
One of the major issues at airports is improving efficiency, flow of all traffic to reduce the possibility of delays. After safety, everyone involved in any sort of airport operations, works on increasing efficiency in order to avoid delays and having to spend additional money. As the airports operations increase, the people in charge will have to come up with solutions to avoid setbacks. Airport planners have to come up with ideas in order to improve airport facilities and increase the efficiency of the flow. The challenges that come with this type of projects is that sometimes the airports don’t have much room for improvement within the airport and don’t have room to expand due to surrounding neighborhoods. This is where they have to find the right balance for capacity and delay. To solve this problem first they have to find the hitch and then focus on working on that specific area. For example, it can be a specific terminal, runways, taxiways, or not enough gates. Other alternatives to the matter can be working on distributing the traffic through the off-peak times, or to start using other areas to within the airport to decrease the traffic at one specific area.

Airlines Industry is large and growing, it is also the most fiercely competitive sector. It facilitates international trade, world economy growth, tourism and international investment. The airline industry has over time with the use of modern technology been able to take advantage of the short haul, high frequency and gained a competitive advantage over other forms of travel, such as buses and railroad travel. Additionally, the airline industry still holds the market for global travel at a low cost and convenient way to travel. The aviation industry gives a good contribution to the GDP which includes the following: airline services, general aviation, civil airport operations, aircraft manufacturing, and

Air freight market is not stable and might be weak because of uncertain international trade increase (Barnard,2015). There was fluctuation in air cargo demand over the last 10 years from 2006 to 2016 which indicates that cargo demand could be changed by some external and internal influences. Some figures were released about worldwide air freight market and presented that air cargo capacity increased 2.2%, comparing to 2014. While this was the 5% growth calculated by The International Air Transport Association (IATA), the growth of cargo volumes in 2015 was much slower than 2014(Barnard, 2015). However, some experts pointed out that global air freight market get a positive growth from 2011, and it is enjoying a relatively steady growth, due to the enhanced trade and economic recovery after the global financial crisis of 2008(Huang,2016). Because of sluggish world trade growth, air cargo suppliers face a lot of challenges including alternative transportation, perspective uncertainty and unexpected policy and here are some potential solutions: improving customers service, efficiency, security and reducing negative environmental impacts.
