The School of Nursing Scholarship at the Catholic University of America would enhance my knowledge and facilitate in allowing me the opportunity to achieve my goal of receiving the type of education that I truly desire. I would be able to become a part-time nurse, full time student, with the ability to put all of my focus on obtaining a sublime degree. This would enable me to continue to receive experience and exposure as a nurse, but provide me the time and energy needed to attend school. Reaching the level of Nurse Practitioner suits me best in terms of professional and family life, but even more fulfilling is the ability to build relationships and render heightened levels of care to patients in need.

For as long as I could remember I have always wanted to be a Pediatric Nurse. From the day I got my appendix out to all the other times I’ve had to go to the doctor, I have had many experiences with nurses. I have always loved taking care of kids especially when they’re in need of medical help. In high school I plan on taking two child development classes and two healthcare classes. I also plan on volunteering this summer at either a day care or nursing home. I plan on starting my nursing career by going to college first. I want to go to Winona State University in the fall of 2019 and feel that your scholarship could help me out with that goal.

When taking the time and looking into my future I have realized many important things about myself. I have realized that I have no idea what I want to do once I graduate from high school. I have also come to realize that I want golf to be apart of my future in college. When looking into some schools that I would be interested in attending I took into consideration that I will want to play golf and what schools offer a good program for what I want to do. With those opponents I narrowed it down to the University of Missouri-Kansas City or better known as UMKC. Nursing- pre-licensure is the career path I will be taking in college. Nursing has always been something that I am interested in doing and UMKC offers a good nursing program.

In my life, I am fueled by compassion, love, and the desire to serve others all around the world. I have always been passionate about making a difference and spreading love to those that need it. I enjoy giving back to my community and enriching the lives of others through service. This scholarship holds the promise for me to receive a higher education while continuing my work of interacting with individuals and leaders to build, learn, and explore our world.

My major is pre-nursing and I would like to become a nurse. I would like to talk to my advisor on how I would go about getting my bachelor’s degree in nursing. I decided I want to be a nurse because I love helping people, I can get benefits ,every day I will have something new to do, and I would be able to be any type of nurse for example a school nurse, hospital nurse or pediatric nurse. Back in my home country, where i grew up, times were always tough. Every day I would notice poverty, tragedies, disappointment from every angle i turned. Despite how much my famliy was already lacking my mother has always nudged the philosophy that caring is sharing and I have coantinued to lived by it till this day. Upon entering America I didn't expect my love for nursing to happen especially a foreigner Nigeria . Although i entered this career spontaneously, there are numerous reasons why i fell in love with nursing and its positive influnece in my personal life.
