Nursing School

Nursing is a practice in which nurses promote health and the well-being of patients. I believe that nursing is not only a job that prevents and cures illness, but has a deeper meaning and understanding. Becoming a nurse gives the opportunity to maximize and promote patients’ well-being. It is a way to learn and understand new perspectives and expand prior knowledge, to build relationships with patients, community, and other nurses, in addition to learning how to empathize and realize the patient’s needs, and to value and see people as human beings. I think even with the list given is not enough to define or explain a nurse. I believe being a nurse is a diverse and immeasurable experience, and what happens in this field is unknowing and uncertain. My goal in nursing practices is to take in life experiences and use the skills and ideas learned to shape me to become a better nurse and a better person.

Nursing is a career that allows for one to help people and make a difference in their lives. It gives the opportunity to help so many people who are sick or in need of care to get better. Being a nurse requires hard work, sometimes difficult patients, and long hours. It is a career that holds many opportunities and challenges.

I think nursing not only includes taking care of patients and helping out the doctors. I believe that there is some art to nursing as well, other than all the education and science involved of course. I believe that that caring is the essence of nursing, and that it should be viewed by the nurses as their moral ideal of preserving human dignity. This is to be done by helping the patients in finding some deeper meaning to their illnesses and suffering so that they are able to understand themselves better and are able to restore and promote their personal harmony and balance between the mind, body, and soul. When I think of the word nurse, I immediately think of the words care and kindness. Being a nurse takes a special type of person because they are constantly putting their needs aside and working to help the patients.

Growing up, I have always been surrounded by nursing. My mother has been a nurse for my entire life as well as my grandmother and a few aunts. I have seen firsthand the stress that it has put on them and how physically draining it can be. What I have seen more so than the stress is the happiness it can bring when you are successfully able to help someone. I believe that nursing can be a truly fulfilling career for me.

Nursing is a well-respected and fulfilling career that I am thankful to have chosen. Nurses provide care in a respectful, caring and compassionate way. My personal goal as a nurse is to give the best medical care possible while honoring my patient’s race, religious and cultural beliefs. We must respect others without prejudice or personal bias. Nurse’s must show compassion and understanding at all times.

I believe this about nursing, it is not just a profession, but merging of passionate and holistic care. My desire to become a nurse sprouted when I went for a mission trip to a Leprosy Hospital near my home town in India. There was still a social stigma against leprosy and so called “Leprosy Sanatorium” was isolated from the rest of the world with a huge wall. I remember carrying a bag of clothes collected by my mother for the patients there. I was deeply touched by the smile and gratitude patients showed to the nurses caring for them and cleaning their wounds. That is when I decided that I want to become a nurse. Another reason for my decision to become a nurse is my brother, who is also a nurse. His experiences and stories from hospital inspired me and made me realize that nursing is truly for me. I joined one of the prestigious Universities in India for my BSN through merit and scholarship and I graduated at the top of my class. After graduation, I worked in various acute care settings and also as a clinical instructor in India.

Nursing is a broad term, to most people nursing means caring for someone sick. I believe nursing is much more than that. It means to protect those who cannot protect themselves, treat the ill that cannot

One of my main goal for my future is passionate in everything i do and do the things i desire the most .Pursuing a degree in Nursing has always been a lifetime’s aspiration . Careers in Nursing contributed to those in need and creates a bond patients . Its always something that perceived that it would draw my attention . During the years , of me serving in the nursery at my church it made realize the potential have for caring people. Out of any other career i believe nursing would fit me best for me .

Nursing is about illness prevention and taking care of ill patients. A nurse is the first medical personnel an individual is most likely to see. A nurse is the first line of defense for families and communities because it is the only profession that reaches out to communities, families, and individuals about how to prevent an illness, the flu and also encourages people to get tested whenever they exhibit symptom pertain to a disease. These responsibilities of a nurse are what propel me to be a nurse. I want to help people through chronic and acute illness, I want to reach out to communities and inform them about the dangers of certain diseases and how to prevent them.

Nurses provide excellent patient care, teach patients about health conditions, and give advice and support to patients and their families. Nurses have a variety of duties. They must monitor and record patient symptoms, take vital signs, watch patients diet and physical activity, supervise less skilled nurses, and order and interpret tests to access the condition of the patient. Nursing can be a wonderful, caring, and thoughtful job. However, to other nurses: nursing can be a difficult, tiring, and stressful job. Any job can be tough but nursing is emotionally and physically draining on a person. Nursing can be such a burdensome and demanding job sometimes because of the long hours, the exam to become a nurse, and dealing with other people.

Merriam- Webster (n.d) describes a nurse as: a person who is trained to care for sick or injured people and who usually works in a hospital or doctor 's office. This definition is a limited view of nursing means; a nurse is more than just a trained person that takes cares of a sick person (Nurse, n.d).

Nursing is the process of caring for the health of human beings and assisting them to not only meet their needs, but also to teach them the basics of caring for themselves. A nurse is continuously faced with the responsibility of promoting good health, preventing disease and promoting healing. A nurse is not only expected to give physical assistance to patients, but they are also called upon to offer emotional support to both the patient and the family of the patient.
