Abstract
In our modern world with increasingly cheap, high calorie food prepared foods that are high in things like salt, sugars or fat, combined with our increasingly sedentary lifestyles, increasing urbanization and changing modes of transportation, it is no wonder that obesity has rapidly increased in the last few decades, around the world.
Introduction
Obesity is a global public health problem that has become an epidemic killing 17 million people each year worldwide. The World Health Organization (WHO) believes that obesity is worsening and has become a global epidemic, estimating that obesity will be the single biggest killer on the planet by the year 2020. …show more content…

In many instances organic, high-quality and nutrient-rich food diets not only cost more but are consumed by more affluent groups. In developing countries, obesity coexists with malnutrition. Healthy foods, such as organic, fresh fruits and vegetables, unaltered meat and healthy alternatives are sold at prices that are considered too costly at neighbourhood supermarkets.
