This may seem a little alarmist to you, but childhood obesity in America is a big enough problem to warrant such a cry for help. Don't believe me? Take a look around and try to count how many obese children and parents you see while out and about during a normal day. Don't stare, but you might be astounded when you open your eyes and begin to look for the problem.
Obesity in America is a very serious problem affecting many Americans currently and is a problem that continues to grow each year. Obesity is a disorder involving excessive body fat that increases the risk of health problems. I believe that obesity in America is a huge problem which is caused by a few factors. Obesity in America is a huge problem that continues to escalate due to fast food chains, lack of physical activity, and overeating.
Unfortunately obesity is a battle that the citizens of the United States are fighting. Over 68.8 percent of our adults have been diagnosed as being over-weight or obese and this usually initiates in their teenage years. America is second in the world for the heaviest people. Every year obesity is becoming an increasing problem in our nation and particularly in our schools. A huge factor is what we feed our students junk for breakfast and lunch.
Over the past few decades, cases of obesity have become more prevalent in the United States, causing the US to be the leading county in obesity percentages. Obesity-related conditions include heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer, some of the leading causes of preventable death (Defining Overweight).
In recent discussion of obesity, a controversial issue has been whether there should be involvement of society and the government. On one hand, some argue that obese people harm everyone, therefore, everyone should be involved. One the other hand, people argue that obese people should decide whether or not they want to be healthy. In sum, then, the issue is whether society and the government should do something about obesity. My own view is that while I do think that the government and society should encourage healthy living, however, there should be less pressure from society.
Think about all the hungry animals (people) in the world who would love to have food. This people would fight over a crumb of bread which establishes a great proposal of making all the hungry fight in a war for food, but could not be able to get the food until the war has been won. Never fight or sweat over the small things.
For my satire project, I focused on the topic of Obesity for which to find a humorous solution. Today obesity is an exponential problem in the United States. Americans are evolving into the laziest humans in the world because we don’t want to work towards the goal of being fit; all we want to do is take a pill and wake up skinny in a week’s time. The industry for weight loss and its advertisement has gone way too far, and they are steering us in a bad direction. Likewise, my targeted audience would be the industry of diet planning and those who fall into the trap of “losing thirty pounds a month” with a formulated shake or pills. Given these points, my purpose for this assignment is to expose the ridiculousness of the weight loss plans in today’s
Having one severe disease can lead to have a tuff life or even more it can cost someone's life. In the earlier years before the 70’s obesity started to increase, and people were not aware of what was causing this epidemic. In these earlier years fast food restaurants started to increase so did their costumer's this caused more and more people to consume meals out of their homes. Now the big problem in this day is that many individuals don’t put a stop to this epidemic. Or many don't accept the truth behind these bad foods that can cause a big problem to the body. There are many solutions for the obesity, but it is for individuals to make a change. But many of the people depend on these types of products people love the taste
This is America. The country with the highest obesity count. Why? Because ‘Murica that’s why.Recently, it’s becoming more of an issue. More ways than the average person would think. Now it isn’t just about being unhealthy, it can be bad socially as well.
As our current society stands, it is miserable to stand still and speculate the outstanding amount of people who have been put aside by society, who have been bullied upon, and suffered due to physical appearances. These individuals, instead of enjoying a normal life, are forced to confront the one problem they can't run away from; themselves.
Obesity is becoming a major problem due to many causes and because of that people are struggling with obesity these days. Obesity in America is one of the major public health concern right now. Especially when Fast food now is increasing in bad way and it’s easily these days to find fast food near you or away from you. Things is different right with all these changes been made to our society. The good side of that change comes with the bad side. The problem is people are inventing technology that makes the life easier and make the person lazier, such as the computers, tablets and etc. Lacks of healthy lifestyle, people are changing healthy diet with unhealthy ones, and Obesity affects our health by having disease,
Staten Island, New York- Despite years of intense dieting and vigorous exercise, local anorexic Lucy Fernandez is still excessively fat. In our country today we are at an epidemic crisis with obesity. The United States is considered on the most developed and liberal country that is filled with opportunities for everyone. The one thing, we the U.S citizens are the proudest of is the title, Number 1 Fattest Developed Country. Our obesity in our country is increasing and so are the fast food restaurants so that we can maintain our amazing title of number 1.
Obesity is becoming one of the biggest problems in the country, but there has to be reasons for it. It can be the economy, society now, or people and companies. It’s time that our country starts to realize that we can’t live like this anymore. We need to see what is causing the sudden rise in obesity, and what we can do to fix it. Education of risks and solutions can be very helpful. Obesity is killing so many people, yet is still 100 percent avoidable. Our country is beginning to care less and really let themselves go. The fast food industry, supermarkets, and schools are the ones at fault for the spreading problem of obesity.
Many share the same problems I once experienced, and it is these problems that force them to seek out scapegoats. These people have gone to politicians to try to get the issues resolved. President Bush jumped on board for this movement, and signed on a 200 million dollar bill to implement anti-obesity measures (396). These same politicians are slowly forcing these obesity issues into the public sphere of health. It is becoming the governments issue to make you healthier, not yours. When the government comes between you and your waist line, there are more issues then that are being addressed.
