Over the past few decades, cases of obesity have become more prevalent in the United States, causing the US to be the leading county in obesity percentages. Obesity-related conditions include heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer, some of the leading causes of preventable death (Defining Overweight).

Obesity is becoming a major problem due to many causes and because of that people are struggling with obesity these days. Obesity in America is one of the major public health concern right now. Especially when Fast food now is increasing in bad way and it’s easily these days to find fast food near you or away from you. Things is different right with all these changes been made to our society. The good side of that change comes with the bad side. The problem is people are inventing technology that makes the life easier and make the person lazier, such as the computers, tablets and etc. Lacks of healthy lifestyle, people are changing healthy diet with unhealthy ones, and Obesity affects our health by having disease,

This may seem a little alarmist to you, but childhood obesity in America is a big enough problem to warrant such a cry for help. Don't believe me? Take a look around and try to count how many obese children and parents you see while out and about during a normal day. Don't stare, but you might be astounded when you open your eyes and begin to look for the problem.

Having one severe disease can lead to have a tuff life or even more it can cost someone's life. In the earlier years before the 70’s obesity started to increase, and people were not aware of what was causing this epidemic. In these earlier years fast food restaurants started to increase so did their costumer's this caused more and more people to consume meals out of their homes. Now the big problem in this day is that many individuals don’t put a stop to this epidemic. Or many don't accept the truth behind these bad foods that can cause a big problem to the body. You don’t have a lot of money on you and you’re hungry so you grab a bite to eat at a nearby fast food restaurant. Without realizing what you are putting into your body you continue eating these inexpensive meals every night on your way home from work. Weeks turn into months and the next thing you know your cloths don’t fit the way they used you beginning to notice yourself gaining weight. Obesity among young Americans is a problem and can have serious effects if nothing is done about it.

Over the years the obesity rate in America has increased significantly. From 1990 to 2016, the average percentage of obese adults increased from 11.1% to 29.8%. The escalating obesity rate in America has made obesity prevention one of the top public health priorities. Being overweight has become the new normal in America. Obesity is caused by eating too much and moving too little, depression, and the input of social media.

Obesity is becoming one of the biggest problems in the country, but there has to be reasons for it. It can be the economy, society now, or people and companies. It’s time that our country starts to realize that we can’t live like this anymore. We need to see what is causing the sudden rise in obesity, and what we can do to fix it. Education of risks and solutions can be very helpful. Obesity is killing so many people, yet is still 100 percent avoidable. Our country is beginning to care less and really let themselves go. The fast food industry, supermarkets, and schools are the ones at fault for the spreading problem of obesity.

Obesity and being overweight Obesity/overweight issues need to be talked about among young women. I believe a woman can be and look beautiful at any weight. And just because someone is at a healthy weight does not necessarily mean they are healthy or just because someone is overweight, most people will automatically think it's because that person is a fatass or eat a lot, some people are overweight because of health issues or a slow metabolism. I also believe that everyone deserves respect and if a person has criticism; they can deliver it kindly. People think it's unimportant to talk about excessively overeating or binge eating.

Obesity is the most preventable health issue in America. It is considered the main problem in the United States and also has been around for centuries. Despite the fact that countless individuals are unaware about the increasing statistics associated with obesity, more than seventy percent of men and women within the United States adult population are overweight or obese. When discussing the obesity epidemic in America, many people name fast food companies as the number one cause, but there are several factors besides fast food that further deepen the obesity epidemic. Medication, stress, psychological issues all contribute to the obesity epidemic in America.

An Obesity epidemic is disturbing the financial and social stability of the United States. As stated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services “our modern environment has allowed these conditions to increase at alarming rates and become highly pressing health problems for our nation“(U.S. Department of Health and Human Services). Efforts made by authority figures have been enforced to solve this severe crisis. Obesity has become a concerning problem in the United States. This epidemic is interfering with the success of American citizens and it is also impacting the American economy negatively. The obesity epidemic endures negative impacts to the United States’ economy; even though others argue it is contributing to the economy through the growing weight loss industry.

In the United States the society needs to work on controlling this problem known as obesity. It is a problem that if does not get controlled sooner than later, will spiral out of hand even more. Linked with health problems is a poor diet. Variations in our food environment have made it challenging to maintain a healthy weight. Society tends to want to eat more fast-food rather than cooking at home because it is cheaper and less time-consuming. We have become lazy when it comes to our diets. We don’t take into consideration the Food Guide and basically eat what we want, when we want. Obesity is also a major drain on the economy. The amount of money being spent on health care because of obesity-related diseases is astronomical. The Globe and Mail had an article headlined, “Obesity costs economy up to $7-billion a year” (Picard). By eating right and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, our society can cut down economic costs drastically. All we need to have is some discipline, the proper diet, and exercise.

For this week we had the ability to look into cardiovascular disease and how it is being an thing that it effecting our generation. In this essay I hope to talk about what I imagine someone who is obese may look like. I also hope to take a deeper look into the what some of daily activities are the put people at a higher risk for cardiovascular disease and some or reasons why someone may not be motivated to make a change in their life even though it can lengthen their life span. Last but not least I hope to give my opinion if I believe that age is an factor in determine if someone is motivated or not in making a change to their life.
