Phoebe is scared most of her life and it is hard for her because she is alert, not really happy all the time, has 1 very close friend. The reason I love Phoebe is she is very alert. On page 42 it said,”Phoebe lock all doors and windows.” She is scared of stranger because one can pretend they are nice. The stranger could turn out and take a gun out and shoot people. Also, a murderer can
Even though she was at her house, she still hurried to get to school for the feeling of satisfaction and safety instead of staying at her house which is filled with fear and discomfort. Barry uses the main character’s actions to convey that the narrator only feels comfort when she is at school and that she always urges to be there. Secondly, in the passage that follows, Lynda Barry writes the narrator’s thoughts to show that just the sighting of someone’s safe haven can relieve panic. “ All I knew was a feeling of panic, like the panic that strikes kids when they realize they are lost. That feeling eased the moment I turned the corner and saw the dark outline of my school at the top of the hill” (Barry 1). The quotes conveys that just when the protagonist sees the outline of her school the feeling of discomfort simply disappears. The narrator’s mind finally went calm, as shown through the thoughts that went through her head. Thirdly, in the next excerpt, the author uses first person narrative to express the thinking of the central figure of narrative. “It’s only thinking about it now, 28 years later, that

Throughout the novel Phoebe has redefined the female stereotypes by being intelligent. Even though Holden and Phoebe are siblings it is quite remarkable the impact she has had on him. Phoebe is a 10 year old young lady who is portrayed as an overly emotional and unintelligent woman by society. In chapter 10 while getting ready to go to the Lavender Room at the Edmont’s nightclub Holden contemplates calling Phoebe but he thinks other wise, he goes on to describe her characteristics. Holden says, “the only trouble is, she’s a little too affectionate sometimes, she’s very emotional, for a child. She really is” (Salinger 76). Anti Feminists would say that women have too many emotions compared to men, and it is these emotions that make them perceive

This piece of evidence is when she was the antagonist “I plunged on. I didn 't want him to explain. I wanted to warn him. 'Phoebe and I saw her slashing and hacking away at the bushes in her backyard. ' 'Is there
While reading this story I had kept track of all the emotions that Phoebe was experiencing. Some of those emotions were common in a girl her age, Phoebe had her natural emotional responses like sadness, anger, lack of feeling, and relief. When I mention the lack of feeling, it showed when Mick had first passed away, Phoebe had mentioned that it took her three days after Mick’s death to cry. The thing is, that lack of emotion is very common in children her age. When someone passes away, the thought of them never being there again or the thought of death is not normal in a kid’s mind, especially when they have never experienced it before.

danger and in need of help, and she gives her help despite the risks that come with it.
I didn't care, though. I felt so damn happy all of sudden, the way old Phoebe kept going around and around. I was damn near bawling, I felt so damn happy, if you want to know the truth. I don't know why. It was just that she looked so damn nice, the way she kept going around and around, in her blue coat and all.

AJ Enerson If you were a teacher would you have stood up for Phoebe Prince, or looked the other way ? One in four teachers are alright with bullying according to dosomething.org. If just one person stood up she might still be with us today. Phoebe had it terrible, people would cyberbully her when she was at home. When she was walking through the halls at school people would throw trash at her and `call her names. How can everyone put up with this? The answer is neither one could.
The reason I would pick Phoebe is because she is very protective and alert. In chapter 11 the book says “Phoebe was a champion warrior.”. I think that means if I was with her she would protect me when I am scared. She would always know if someone was watching us or stalking us. If we went out she would always make sure the place is safe. I would
