While writing the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, I think Mark Haddon had many purposes that he was trying to get across. One of these purposes is bringing attention to the stereotypes of developmental disabled children. An example of this is the fact that Christopher has a mild form of autism, but is incredibly gifted in math. Most people usually have the idea that kids with disorders have a lesser level of intelligence than the average person, but in this story, it clearly proves that point wrong. Christopher, in fact, is the first person in his entire school to do an A level. He has the highest level of intelligence in the subject of math, making him smarter than what people would think. His autism affects his social skills,
Temple Grandin’s TED talk and the novel, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, have several similarities between the two. In the TED talk, Temple explains the way children with autism think, process, and react differently from those who are not autistic. Grandin announced to the crowd of the TED talk convention that those with autism tend to be sensitive to sound- just as Christopher was in the novel. There were several occurrences when Christopher’s surroundings became too much to handle- which is why “[he] walked at the edge of the road. And [he] didn’t like all the people being near [him] and all the noise because it was too much information in [his] head”(The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time 139). She also
In the Novel, The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon, we are shown that the truth is not always accurate and that lies are sometimes necessary. Christopher Boone is a 15 year old who has Asperger’s Syndrome, which lies in the Autism Spectrum. Due to this condition Christopher does not understand emotion, metaphors – which he considers a lie – and knows all the prime numbers up to 7,507 as well as all the countries and cities of the world. Christopher’s life revolves around the truth and throughout the novel he is seen to grow and learn to cope with different things when dealing with lies. Most events in this novel are situated around a lie that has been told; nearly every character tells one and has to face the

In the story “The curious incident of the dog in the night-time” Christopher and his father have a rocky relationship. However, despite his temper Mr.Boone still loves Christopher. This is proven in the story because, Mr.Boone always cater’s to Christopher’s needs, puts up with his mistakes, and always worries about him.
In Mark Haddon's contemporary novel, "The curious incident of the dog in the Night-Time", the protagonist, Christopher Boone, does seem completely unsuited to narrating a novel, as he takes on his authorial voice, thus demonstrating symptoms of his disability, 'Asperger's Syndrome.' This is a syndrome that enables him to see the world only through his limited perspective, which is closed, frightened and disorientated - which results in his fear of, and inability to understand the perplexing world of people's emotions. His description of events can be somewhat unreliable as he is unable to see the real truths that lie before him. As he narrates, readers are confronted with his peculiarities - whether it is not liking to be touched, his fear

The mind of an autistic person is fascinating and frightening because usually their actions can’t accurately express what their brain is thinking. It is frustrating to try and determine what a child with autism is trying to say, and often results in them being misunderstood. Chris is brilliant at math and science, but is unable to understand or express emotion. His teacher, Siobhan, is his only friend and the only person who tries to help him learn to
It is inevitable that one will experience stress at least once during their lifetime. Oftentimes, stress impacts people in different ways that change how they view situations and the choices they make — especially in families. Christopher Boone, the protagonist of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (CIDN), by Mark Haddon, has a form of autism. Thus, he perceives the world differently compared to everybody else. As a 15-year-old boy, he does not tolerate being touched, does not eat food if they are touching, and hates the colors yellow and brown (Haddon 60). Because of Christopher’s personality, he must cope with his stress in unusual ways that create drama in his family.
Goals- Done Right or Wrong There are numerous ways to accomplish a goal, whether it is done correctly or not. In The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon, Christopher, the main character and narrator, thinks about his future to become a scientist, which is his major goal.
Thesis Statement: When I watch superhero movies, I only think of male superheroes, as there are many of them. But then again there is Wonder Woman, Cat Woman and Black Widow, who are heroes and are also women. We usually forget about them being heroes. Which makes me acknowledge the reasons of what makes a hero a hero. Argument 1 The attribute of independence can identify both men and women. Argument 2 Also, the courage can define the hero rather than the gender. Thesis Heroism is not outlined Heroism is not outlined by gender, but rather by independence and courage.
