Hello, I am Amber Rojcewicz, and I have elected to take an online English course so that it will fit in my schedule. In my past English classes, I have worked on citing properly, creating cohesive text, and using databases. Hopefully these skills will follow through into this new journey. I have allotted time to work on this class and that would be on Wednesdays and Thursdays because I have no classes on those days. I would say I am organized, and will do my best to keep up on work that is given to me. On the English- 11 Regents exam, I scored above a 75 I passed with an 85. I have been around computers and keyboards a lot in my life and can find my way around one well. I have access to Wi-Fi in a lot of places. I have it in my house and can also find access in public places. You spoke on …show more content…
This should give me enough time to get everything done and submitted on time. In the communicate tab, I have set my messages to spell check before they are sent to you, and I understand fully that you will not respond unless they are spelt correctly. I think it would be a good idea to give you my phone number just in case, my phone number is (518)-796-5685. I am sort of familiar with online chats, and I am sure I can figure it out when the time comes. I understand that all assignments need to be completed to pass this course and I also understand that the points and percentages are different and in the end the points turn into a percentage. I also understand that the final assignments will be weighted very different and could really hinder my final grade. I have checked my grade and it is at 0 percent, and I figured out how to find my grades in the report section. I have visited the OpenSuny HelpDesk and realize that the hours are 8 to 9 Monday through Thursday, 8 to 5 on Fridays, 10 to 5 on Saturdays and 1 to 9 on
So far I feel that I am handling the course load and completing the assignments on time while allocating adequate time to read and absorb the material in the online textbook. Furthermore, in my opinion, the course load assigned each unit is at the appropriate level for a class at this academic level.
I intend on acing English 1102 online. Prior to this course, I was home schooled for three and a half years, and many of my classes were online. One of the online programs I used was Florida Virtual. Additionally, I have completed three online college courses—including English 1101. Because I have engaged in online schooling, I have established the skills necessary to devote myself not only to a physical classroom, but also to online environment. In the beginning, being self-motivated was difficult. I transitioned from a public middle school to a self-disciplined online program. My busy mother could do little to help me be accountable for my school work. As time progressed, I wormed myself into a pit of unfinished assignments. My parents stepped
In my second block Accelerated English class, I believe that I deserve at least a B based on my behavior, attendance, and participation. I would like to have faith in the idea that my behavior is pleasing and acceptable. For example, I have never gotten a referral both in English class and in school in general. Although I shout out sometimes, I try my best to not let this happen. I have to admit that my attendance isn't the finest, however I attempt to only miss school if I am sick, and if I am sick and/or absent, I make up my work as quick as I can. Finally, I conclude that my participation is superb. I always complete my work and I strive to do everything I can to secure an excellent grade in English. Therefore, based on my behavior, attendance, and participation in English class, I deserve at least a B.
During the 2015-2016 school year, the Tiger Advanced English classroom consists of students divided into four classes of 24, 25, 25, and 26. There are 53 boys and 49 girls. All students are identified as gifted though each has unique learning needs. We have one legally blind student that has severely decreased hearing in one ear. One of our students uses an FM sound system and another is diagnosed with a visual processing disorder. Eight students have health needs associated allergies/asthma. One has experienced traumatic brain injury and two others have weak immune disorders. And finally, one diabetic student.
I have never taken an online class before so I am relying on several things to help me be successful. Keeping up with the course schedule is one of the most important things I can do because it will allow me to manage my time and it will
I believe that I deserve a solid A in English 250 because I have worked very hard in this course and learned many valuable information that will be useful later in my life. Especially this summer because I will be taking a speech class at a community college. I have grown in the learning aspect of this English course, but also in many other areas as well like speaking up in class which I don’t normally do in my other classes due to the number of students and I am just a shy person. Also in this course, I get to work with others in small groups and be a team player from participating in the group discussions and sharing my thoughts about a certain topic. I have been able to analyze many parts of grammar and resources that have urged me to further
During the course of Mrs Wagner's Accelerated English 10 class I learned a tremendous amount. I learned all about things such as TIQA, ANT, verb tense. I also learned a gamut of vocabulary words. So over the course of the first semester I blossomed as a writer and Mrs Wagner showed me the hidden talents within my brain.
Campus After Hours was founded in 2012, with the intent to improve the way students apply for college. It presents a unique opportunity for students around the world to learn about secondary education in a completely different way. We encourage everyone to share the experiences they have had at a college campus. Those opinions enable visitors to read comments made by current students, alumni, faculty, previous guests, or by local residents in regards to class recommendations, campus lifestyle, what are the best places to eat, where to meet new people and what extracurricular activities are occurring in the surrounding areas. In addition to our website we use social media outlets such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook with hopes to develop
I truly believe that I can succeed in this course. Online learning is a better option for me because I enjoy learning on my own. While I will not be solely by myself in this course, I will be required to do a lot of the planning on my own. My strengths include being very strict with myself, great time management skills, study tools and techniques, and my determination to learn everything that I can. In contrast, my weaknesses include losing interest easily, losing motivation when something confuses me, and bad memory. To improve these weaknesses, I will do my very best to pay attention and make my classes this semester my top priority. I will also do everything in my power to make sure I understand the material I am required to learn. Finally, I will improve my poor memory by using an academic planner to keep track of all my assignments and their due
2.I am taking a fully online class due to the fact that i am working 32 hours per week and also taking 4 classes . Since I live in half moon bay which is about 40 minutes drive from home to school, I don't like to spend a lot of time driving while I have a very busy schedule. By taking this class, I won't have to commute much, therefore,I will have more time to focus on all of my studies. I have taken 4 online classes and i have done very well in all of those classes. I also feel that online classes are very flexible .
Reading the course schedule and printing out a copy has contributed to my success in this course. I went in and recorded due dates for assignments, discussions boards, and test/quizzes. Also, logging into my Moodle and my email once a day to check announcements and coursework has advanced my success in this course. When I don’t understand something I ask questions and I make sure to email my instructor when facing difficulties.
I would like to enroll in the Intensive English course because it will allow me to gain better experience for college. From what I’ve heard, AP courses have teachers that enjoy the subjects they teach, and students that are eager to learn. I feel that taking this class will improve my writing and understanding of the english writings overall, as well as prepare me for more difficult courses I will choose to take in the future. I have already read “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian” and “The Kite Runner” and enjoyed them. I have no issues writing what is required for the class, and want to challenge myself. The extra points from AP courses to my GPA is an added bonus. My hopes are to have a high school transcript that is looked
Currently I am taking the World Region course on-line and learning the courses from Professor John Boyer via on-line video lectures almost on a daily basis; however, I haven’t never met him in person so I was enthusiastic as soon as I saw his email invite about his live lecture on Thursday, October 13th, 2016, at MCB 100, from 6:00-7:30 PM. I immediately added it to my calendar and contacted my good friend, Jing, about attending this great event with me. Jing and I came to MCB 100 at 6:45PM, fifteen minutes before the lecture started so that we could sit in the front row. As we settled down to our seats, we heard loud cheers from the lecture hall as Professor Boyer walked in. The whole atmosphere felt like we were in the rock concert.
I have learned many things in this class the dos and do nots of public specking some of the more important thigs to me are when to use hand motions and how many to use. The other one probably is the so what now what topic to get the audience really involved in the topic and give them something to do. This is actually what chapter 4 is about and that will lead me into the brief summary of it.
In order to succeed in this online writing class, I will need to persevere, have integrity, and a dedication to excellence. Fortunately, these morals have implicated in my life for over five years. My music teacher would accept nothing but our best effort. With these steep standards, learned to apply these traits to any work I attempted. Another attribute that will assist me is that I am one who knows how to motivate myself and others. This was attained through being a section leader in my band, and had to help my section learn their music and gain confidence in their performance. There will also be some practical steps that I will need to succeed. The first step in my preparing for this class would be to create a schedule. I would take a planner
