The Berlin Airlift was the result of an unexpected breakdown of alliances of the nations after World War two. Berlin was split between France, the Soviet Union, the United States, and Great Britain. The four zones joined together to form West and East Berlin. On June 25th, 1948, the Soviet Union set up a blockade around Berlin to try and force the Allies to give up their democratic government in the western part of Germany. Then, when the United States of America went into the great depression, they started asking Germany for the loans to be paid back. This set Germany back even more. The Blitzkrieg was and still is a widely known strategy or technique used by the Germans during World War Two Heinz Guderian the founder of this strategy realized how far ahead Germany was compared to the rest of Europe when it came to technology. Heinz Guderian came up with an idea to fleet of tanks and airplanes that would help them win the war. By using the planes to scout out the position of the enemy forces. The printing press was created by Johannes Gutenberg in 1455 in Germany and was the discovery of how to print books using separate metal letters to make a page of words (forme).
