It has been over a century since the magical world of Vanar forcibly merged with Earth for a short period of time. In the aftermath of the short merger dragons and the host of mythical creatures left behind did war with the worlds armies, destroying vast swathes of land, while other countries were destroyed with nary a gunshot, due to the power and versatility of magic. While some guns and advanced technology survived, most of it was lost as weapon caches and nuclear arsenals detonated, or as the remaining gear was snatched up by scavengers, raiders, and technology hoarders. The humans managed to win the war...but only barely, launching every nuclear weapon they could at the strongest creatures, obliterating them but at terrible cost to some …show more content…
Being in between several towns and cities has made it a good stop on trade routes now that the orcish raiders are somewhat less common, along with some cunning leadership decisions by the elder and his son. They manage to stay mostly independent by serving as a rest stop for caravans, as well as supporting themselves on the crops they grow and their herds within the …show more content…
Shadar's father Kain, then told him to bring a missive to the nearby temple city of Saraan. After a quick trip, using his magic to hasten it slightly, he made it there and commissioned a witch hunter to come backto help him handle it. Thus did he obtain the services of Sora, the dragonborn cleric. After capturing her, he managed to convince her to stay in case history were to repeat itself, or the witch had superiors that might get involved. After outing the witch, and having her put in the stocks to public use, gagged and chained, someone put out a hit on Shadar through a proxy, attempting to use the guild for misandrist purposes. Fay was sent to kill him, but failed caught by Shadar and his two "companions". Going on rumors he had heard about the guild (fortunately for him they were correct), he then blackmailed her into becoming his slave, threatening to send her back to the guild with knowledge of her failure, which would inevitably lead to her death, if she dared disobey
The Crow Tribe is a semi-nomadic tribe full of hunters and farmers whom, after being forced onto a reservation, and moreover forgotten by the U.S government, resulted in them governing themselves, thus resulted in them creating a general council which then turned into a three-branch government. Like a good deal of Native American Tribes, the Crow Tribe was forced from their homes and placed on reserves with terrible conditions that the U.S. government hasn’t bothered to address. Although countless would argue how these acts were a necessary evil, no one dares to mention how our government ignores all suffer they caused with no sign of stopping it. As stated in the History and Culture, and Crow Indians, the Crow Tribe first originated by the Mississippi River in either Wisconsin, or Minnesota, but now resides in Montana, where they face poverty, rising crime rates, and irrigation problems.
During this standoff, two of the Indian activists were shot and killed diminishing the enthusiasm and determination of those who knew them. Additionally, food supplies were extremely low and then federal agents forbade the news media from entering the scene so that AIM’s message was no longer reaching the public, and after 71 days the elders of Pine Ridge, who had originally asked AIM to come, called an end to the occupation despite AIM’s objections. The Indians relinquished their position and many slipped away during the night to avoid arrest, others agreed to surrender their arms and submit to arrest. In the months following more than 500 arrests and 185 indictments were brought against AIM members, most of the charges were dismissed. But the federal government was not alone in going after the protestors of Wounded Knee, Dick Wilson had his own methods of retribution.
After the Pueblo Revolt of 1680, a decade of uncertainty followed. Both the Pueblo and Spanish, were uncertain as to what the future would hold. The Pueblos, after the revolt, reoccupied their pueblos and carried on with their lives while the Spanish lived in colonies in exile farther south. However, the two groups proved to not stay apart for very long. As early as 1681, Governor Otermin attempted to reconquer the Pueblo world and marched to the Isleta Pueblo with a small army of 146 men. His group was unsuccessful, however, and was forced to turn around after his group, weakened by the harsh winter conditions, encountered a group of Pueblo leaders and fighting men. Six years later, Governor Reneros led a force up the Camino Real in 1687 where he met resistance at Santa Ana and Zia Pueblos, and in 1689, Governor Jironza ferociously assaulted Zia Pueblo.
At and away from school, I belong to many “tribes.” I belong to the Matanzas High School Pirates, which is home to many of my social groups; such as, “The Lunch Squad,” “Wang Gang,” “Chem Crew,” and the “AP Nerds.” Away from school I’ve joined a video game tribe, a baseball tribe, MMA tribe, and of course, the Morris tribe.
The Pueblo Revolt of 1680 is an important event in U.S. history having been the first complete victory for Native Americans against any European nation. One of the major conflicts between the Pueblo Indians and the Spanish colonists was their different religions. Many historians believe that the Pueblo Indians revolted against the Spanish in order to eliminate Catholicism because it was threatening their own beliefs. Many Spanish officials interpret the Pueblo Revolt as being unnecessary and guided by the devil. The continuing study of this historical event will allow current Pueblo villages to learn about their ancestors' history and the major role religion had on the revolt. Further consequences of the Pueblo Revolt was the Spanish setback

When the Canadian Government became the main ruling power of this land, they, of course, had to create laws and boundaries, and other things of the same, just like a proper country should. However, this certainly did not benefit every group involved, specifically the Metis. The population of the Buffalo was dwindling, which was their most important food source, and without it, their culture and way of life would be completely ruined. They tried to sustain themselves, but as you would guess, it was no use. They began starving, so their last option was to call for help from the Canadians. This was fantastic news for the Government, as they could trade the Metis food and small plots of land, for their much
On March 11, 1862, Lincoln made the decision to remove McClellan as General-in-Chief, demoting him to command only the Army of the Potomac. Chief of Staff, Peyton March, sent a telegram to McClellan in refence to his orders and instructed him to speak first to Governor Dennison. Suspicious of this message McClellan refused the invitation to Washington or to speak to Dennison. Later, the General wrote to his wife that the rascals of Washington were after him again and that if he could come out of this, he would never get himself in this position again. Because of this refusal, he learned of his demotion via the National Intelligencer, a Washington newspaper. Although many leaders in the government continued to resent the commander, he was still

The Whiskey Rebellion event led the new U.S. government to establish a federal authority by military within the state borders. The military moved to western Pennsylvania to put in end to the uprising of settlers rebelling against the liquor tax in 1794. Alexander Hamilton, secretary of the Treasury during that time, he proposed the excise tax which was the first national internal revenue tax that was passed by Congress in 1794. Hamilton believed that the excise tax would raise money for the national debt and to maintain the national government’s power. The small farmers were the one who produced and consumed whiskey. Whiskey was easier to transport and sell than the grain. The production helped many small farmers sell and make a lot of profit
Prior to European colonization, North America was home to up to ten million indigenous people with distinct cultures and hundreds of languages. Within 500 years the population was halved through disease and genocide. Today, Native American’s make up 5.2 million or 2% of the US population. This population has suffered the trauma of genocide, dislocation, poverty and oppression mostly through policies and confrontations with the federal government. The Indian Removal Act of 1830 started the systematic relocation of tribes away from coveted land rich in resources and began the process of forced assimilation of Native American people. Today, reservations are populated by the poorest 1% of US citizens. Inadequate education, a political system of custodianship where the US government acts as a guardian to tribes, soaring unemployment, disproportionate substance abuse rates, and profound poverty have created a climate where native youth have turned to organized crime.
Prior to European colonization, North America was home to up to ten million indigenous people with distinct cultures and hundreds of languages. Within 500 years the population was halved through disease and genocide. Today, Native American’s make up 5.2 million or 2% of the US population (US Census 2013). This population has suffered the trauma of genocide, dislocation, poverty and oppression mostly through policies and confrontations with the federal government. Today, reservations are populated by the poorest 1% of US citizens (Koppisch) and have become a hotbed of violent gang culture. To understand the roots of this social condition we can examine how The Indian Removal Act of 1830 started the systematic relocation of tribes away from coveted land rich in resources began the process of forced assimilation of Native American people, but what other factors have contributed to this extreme level of poverty? How has inadequate education, a political system of custodianship where the US government acts as a guardian to tribes, soaring unemployment, and disproportionate substance abuse rates created a climate where native youth have turned to organized crime? What, if anything, is being done to stop gang violence and tackle the systemic issues underlying this social problem?
Throughout history, war has been the most common resort for nations to solve problems or show off their strength. However it wasn’t until recently where mankind had just live and experience a war that not only did it have the potential destroy nations, but also had the potential to destroy the whole world and humanity itself. This was known as the Cold War where after WWII, citizens of the world witnessed the potential of the atomic bomb and feared the possibility of nuclear fallout or total annihilation of the Earth. The only two superpowers remaining at the time were the United States of America and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic. These two nation competed against each other in a nuclear arms race. They fought to spread the ideals of either a free democratic, capitalistic society or a controlled socialist, communist society. After a 45 year struggle from 1945-1991, the Cold War came to an end due to the fall of the Soviet Union. It was inevitable due to the fact during the last few years of the war, the USSR face internal domestic problems such as their financial/economic situation, failed political reforms, and revolution throughout the Union itself. The causes to the collapse of the Union not only affected them but affected the world to present day.
