Though braces work magically in most cases and the problem is solved, there are some drawbacks to this procedure. Braces are often expensive. They require regular cleaning and they may give the mouth an odd look during the time they are in place. Within the past few years, orthodontists have found ways to overcome some of these drawbacks.

If neither of these looks are acceptable, since even the ceramic braces are visible from up close, then you can spend an additional two thousand dollars for behind the teeth braces. The added expense gives braces that are much less visible.

The most economical choice, for braces that are less visible is the ceramic braces. While costing more than metallic braces, they provide for less visibility. Ceramic braces cannot be used in all cases, as they may not provide enough strength. However, when they can be used, they offer the most economical choice for nearly invisible braces.

There are some programs that will allow you to provide braces for your child at a lower expense. Many dental colleges offer a lower rate for braces that are applied by dental students under the supervision of a trained dentist. If you join a dental society, they may be able to offer you discounts on dental procedures, including braces. If you have dental insurance, be sure to check and see if braces are a covered
